Overview
For the ultimate Arenal adventure, this tour combines the weightless speed of ziplining with a canyoning challenge among tropical waterfalls. After flying through the rainforest canopy on extra-long cables, recharge with an organic Costa Rican lunch. Very fun, scary, beautiful experience! The team was great at getting me through the course even though I was terrified. It is very safe…you can see all the back up and safety devices in use. The guides were patient, fun, and, kind! Go for it, you won’t regret it!

Canyoning was the highlight on our trip to CR. Zip line was still fun but the guys at Pure Trek canyoning were amazing and treated us to a wild experience. Wanna do it again.

Sky Adventures Zip Lining and Pure Trek Canyoning were both 10/10 experiences and a must do while in La Fortuna! Such an adrenaline rush!
My partner and I are both terrified of heights but the expert guides and high quality equipment that was used in both experiences gave us confidence and the ability to really enjoy these activities!
Transportation provided was great, timely and clean. And on the way back we were able to accommodate our request to get dropped off at a different location which was very convenient for our plans later that day.
Lunch was served at the restaurant at the Pure Trek facility after Zip Lining and before Canyoning. It was a nice portion of arroz con pollo (chicken and rice) with beans and salad side a fresh papaya juice.
I would like to reiterate how great the guides were at both experiences but especially at the canyoning. They really were experts at belaying and made us feel super safe and ensuring there was no room for error even on our end :)
Note: for the canyoning, it does require some moderate hiking on trails between each repel and back to the top of the valley so some level of physical fitness is required

Incredible and organized experience, rappelling the waterfalls and zip lining through the canopy. They made sure everyone was safe, including our 9yo. She was too small to zip line some of the lines alone, so they always had a professional ready to zip line with her. Highly recommend!

Zip lines are long and fast and the views are incredible! The waterfall repelling was so fun. They’re some really tall ones. The guy who work there are super helpful and nice. And the lunch served was really good too.

Rappelling tips.
Chacos or Keens work best.
They have free lockers & wifi.
Don't wear eyeglasses (unless you can't see without glasses).
Wear the longest shorts you have. I would have preferred to wear capris or long pants that dry quickly. We all wore shorts, which worked okay, but pants would have been better.
There's more uphill walking than I expected. It's manageable but a little exhausting.
It's shady enough you don't have to obsess about sunscreen.
I wouldn't bring an iphone/camera on the rappelling. They take lots of pics for a reasonable cost.
Zipline tips-
Wear capris or long pants. Shorts work okay, but not as well as pants.
I regret not bringing my iPhone. You can wear a fanny pack.
It's somewhat shady, but I'd apply sunscreen before.
They have free lockers & wifi.

This was an absolutely amazing experience. All of our family of 6 agreed that this was our favorite day of the trip. Both tour operators were very professional and well organized. The views from the zip lines were just incredible and the rappelling was so much fun. I was a bit nervous on the rappelling, but the guides make you feel very safe and it was absolutely worth it. It's a one-of-a-kind day that we'll remember for a long time.

I have been ziplining before but this was a step above. Wonderful scenery looking out at the Arenal volcano and lake. The guides were top notch and I think that everyone should put this on their bucket list. You will not regret it!!

This was exhilarating, fun and felt very safe. You go down several falls, the first being the most epic! The PureTrek crew were all really upbeat and made the experience fun for everyone! The Ziplining was also amazing despite rain. It was even cool riding the tram up & you get a great view of Lake Arenal while you zip. I was slightly nervous about going on each excursion alone, but the whole process was great and there are lots of other travelers that you’ll be with. Lunch was also very good!

This day trip was amazing, my husband and I had a great time. I highly recommend it, even if you are a little scared of heights you can get over your fear here. Everything was extremely safe and everyone was very professional and knew what they were doing. I'm super impressed with the skill level of the tour guides, they take their jobs very seriously and we really had a great time and knew we were in great hands. You must do this in costa rica!!!

This was an excellent combo excursion! The ziplining is operated by Sky Adventures and the canyoning is operated by PureTrek. Both were exquisite.
You start with ziplining and on a clear day like we had, the views were incredible. You see the volcano and the lake. The zip line is fast and high! We even saw some spider monkeys at one of the stations.
The canyoning was my favorite part. This is high adrenaline and they start you off with the tallest waterfall. The guides are great and keep you safe. I would recommend closed toed water shoes or closed toed sandals with food grip. You do get soaking wet almost immediately. The monkey drop was insane and definitely something different. The waterfalls were beautiful and thrilling!
Lunch was provided by PureTrek - Arroz con Pollo, salad and pineapple-papaya juice. The food was great.
We stayed at Nayara so we walked right back to our hotel.

This was an incredible combo- zip-lining, lunch, and waterfall rappelling. We were picked up from our hotel by a friendly guide in a clean/good condition bus-van. The zip-line through Sky Adventure was safe and thrilling. After zip-lining we went to Pure Trek for lunch and the waterfall rappelling. The rappelling was down 4 waterfalls with a monkey drop. It was incredible and safely guided as well. This combo was truly a once in a lifetime opportunity.

I’ll write this review in two parts to describe each activity. We are active travelers that look for unique experiences, we have zip lined in 7 countries but previous to this our favorite was zip lining over the Colorado mountains. This one was better for two reasons, on other zip lines you don’t hold anything but it allows you spin so you don’t necessarily get to take in the beautiful scenery. The other is the weather was perfect, all sunny with no rain which is unusual so we had perfect views of both the volcano and the lake.
Regarding the rappelling, we strive to do at minimum one unique activity per trip. My favorite has to be flying planes in Las Vegas but a close second was the waterfall rappelling. It is extremely safe and the guides are great. We weren’t sure what to expect so we thought maybe 30 ft descents, wow we we wrong. 4 waterfalls averaging around 100 ft and a monkey drop which is out of this world. I can’t emphasize enough how safe it was and there were several people on the tour that weren’t in great shape and they did all of it and had a blast. Wear good shoes to grip the rocks since there wet due to the waterfalls but some of the coolest scenery and pictures we have from Costa Rica.
