Jockson was an amazing guide! I would highly recommend you get a guide to do this tour. His eyes pick out stuff anyone else would very easily overlook and he's super knowledgeable on all the different wildlife and trees in the area. Highly recommended!!

This experience was incredible! Our guide was one of the brothers who helped start the Bogarin park. He shared his local knowledge and live experience about growing up in Costa Rica, his passion and love for where he’s from made the tour even more special in addition to seeing the sloths. We also saw so many incredible bird species. Our guid had a a telescope and helped point out the sloths and take pics for us.

This was our first tour in Fortuna and was a great way to start the trip. Our guide was very knowledgeable and we learned a lot. Our guide pointed out wildlife that we would not have been able to spot otherwise. The tour finished with delicious fresh pineapple.

The trail was not long or strenuous in any way, but we were able to see so much in the short walk! Sloths, of course (including a mother and baby), colorful frogs, including the adorable red eye tree frog, owls and even bats. Denis was our guide, and he was really great, knowledgeable and nice, made a read effort for us to see everything, knew a lot and even helped us take beautiful picture and videos. Highly recommend!

Randall was an amazing guide. For not having worked there super long, he was crazy knowledgeable about the animals, plants and Costa Rica overall. One person in my family was a little slow moving and Randall was awesome at stopping at every bench but made it comes across like he planned it to educate us on something. We saw at least 3 sloths, numerous frogs and bird. We did the 8am tour and there was hardly nobody else there. The tour ended with cut up pineapple to snack on. The tour lasted about 2 hours and there was no incline/decline so easy to talk.

We had a fantastic experience at Bogarin Trail! Our guide, Alex, was amazing — knowledgeable, fun, and very attentive. We have never been lucky enough to find a sloth on previous trips, so it was a mission to see one this trip. The sloth tour did not disappoint. We saw several sloths that we would have never seen without the help of the guide. They were excellent at pointing them out and letting us see them through a telescope so we could see them close up. Most of the sloths were sleeping as expected; however, we were lucky to see a soon-to-be mother who was being very active. We also saw several different, lizards, birds and bats .

Incredible experience, saw sloths, frogs, snakes and so many birds. Out guide was totally beyond knowledgeable and spotted so much we would have just missed. Taking shots of the sloths through his scope for us gave the best photos and we loved everyinute of this tour

We had a great time here and the kids (16, 14, 4, 2) really enjoyed it. I highly recommend the guided tour because we would not have seen anything without their help. Highlights were the sloths, poison dart frog, bats, and Jesus Christ Lizard.

There were lots of 2 & 3 toed sloths on this tour. Saw a few mothers with babies. William is an excellent guide. The trail is mostly flat and easy for almost everybody to walk. If you like to see sloths this is well worth doing.

What a wonderful tour! We saw at least five sloths, including several three-toed and one two-toed sloths. We never would have been able to spot them without Alex’s help and his expertise with using the camera with the scope ensured we have wonderful pictures and videos. In addition to the sloths, we saw bats, an owl, a turkey, heron, and two types of frogs! He shared the history of the park and a lot of great details about the animals that made the tour an educational experience for us all.

Super fun! We saw a ton of animals. Several baby sloths which was really cool. Our guide went above and beyond to make sure we saw as many animals as possible.

We saw so many creatures (lizards, 2 toed and 3 toed sloths, owls, leaf cutter ants, poisonous frogs)…. So the experience was totally worth it. … and the trail isn’t overwhelming at all which would make it good for littles, seniors or those with mobility issues.
The pineapple treat at the end was delicious!

This is a not to be missed trip William one of the owners led us on the tour and he knows so much and has done so much to develop an amazing habitat for local wildlife. All the animals are free to come and go and it’s just beautiful. He found us all the amazing sloths, agouti, frogs and an amazing assortment birds up close and personal. We have so many beautiful pictures and memories.

It’s just a private lot on the side of loud busy road where you can have a “guide” help you take photos of a few sloths for Instagram. Our guide didn’t speak much English, despite the tour being advertised as in English, and didn’t know much about the animals. He showed us pictures/videos of sloths on his phone from the internet. Not at all worth the price.

Loved the tour - saw lots of birds, some sloths, and a poison dart frog. Guide was super knowledgable and friendly. A bonus was the complimentary pineapple in the cafe at the end. A highlight of the time in la Fortuna.

Our guide Alex perfectly spotted so many animals, we would have never seen without a guide. As especially sloths are often far away up in the trees the telescope enabled a detailed vision of the animals that would have been impossible without one. Although it was a bit rainy we saw several sloths, toucans, frogs, an owl and a lizard. We can totally recommend this tour!

Great experience with very friendly and knowledgeable guide to spot various animals and birds.
We saw plenty of sloths (2 and 3 toed) lizards, frogs and an array of birds, even two owls!
Our guide was so lovely and you also have access to come again to the park so we made the most of it before leaving La Fortuna.

Rain caused my first tour to get canceled because of rain (it wouldn’t have been safe to goc and we wouldn’t have seen sloths), and the workers easily rescheduled it for me for the next morning.
On my tour, I quickly saw so many sloths, in addition to birds, frogs and lizards. They were super understanding with me as I had food poisoning and wasn’t feeling well, and I am so grateful for their kindness.

We had an amazing tour at Bogarin Trail. While the park is small and in an urban environment, we decided that was a pro and not a con. As our excellent guide, Mar, explained, the sloths there tended to stay there because their predators would not come there. Further, the animals were accustomed to city noise, so they seemed less bothered by human noise. Mar was an outstanding guide who was able to answer all of our many questions and provide us with a deep understanding of the plants, animals, and insects that we saw. Highly recommended.

We had a wonderful tour with our guide Mar! Her English was great, which was a relief since our Spanish isn’t great. She told us all about the birds, plants, trees, bugs, and sloths!! It was wonderful. She had a tripod and scope and used them to take some great shots with our iPhones.

If you don’t hire a tour guide, you will not see the animals. The tour guides have an eye to see the animals way up in a tree. They use a monocular lens and will take pictures with your phone for you. We got to see sloths, poison dart frog, owl, baby sloth with mother, leaf cutter ants, iguana, termite nest, and several kinds of birds. If you want to see animals, I would highly recommend this tour.

We went to see sloths and saw a dozen or more on our 2 hour guided tour! Our guide, Mar, was delightful, diligent, and capable. She took fabulous photos with our camera. Mar speaks English very well and shares my values concerning the environment so was very interesting to converse with.
