We had an absolutely fantastic day on the Traditional Dunajec River Rafting with Mountain Chairlift tour with Thousand Miles from Kraków! 🇵🇱❤️
We were incredibly lucky to be the only people on the tour, which made the whole experience feel really personal and relaxed. Our guide, Marek, was fantastic — friendly, cool, knowledgeable and so easy to communicate with. He really went above and beyond to make the day so enjoyable.
The smoked cheese 🧀 stop was a real highlight, especially for my son, who had been really excited about it. We both loved the cheese — and I fell in love with the young cow! 🐄😂 She was so playful and friendly that she honestly behaved more like a puppy than a cow. Such a fun and unexpected part of the day!
Then we headed to Czorsztyn Castle, and WOW… the views from here! 😍🏰 Absolutely incredible. Standing up there looking out over the surrounding mountains and landscape was breathtaking. It was one of those places where you just stop and take it all in.
From there, we continued through the stunning Pieniny National Park before reaching the Dunajec River rafting — which was my absolute highlight of the entire trip. 🛶❤️
The scenery along the river was breathtakingly beautiful. Floating through the gorge with the towering Pieniny mountains surrounding us was an unforgettable experience.
And to make it even more special for my son, he got to steer the raft, wearing the traditional hat and vest! 🥰 He was absolutely thrilled and it completely made his day. One of those moments he'll remember for years.
We continued on to Szczawnica, where we tried the famous healing waters. They were definitely an experience — although we quickly discovered that the very salty taste wasn't quite for us! 😂 We then took the chairlift up Palenica Mountain, which gave us yet another incredible perspective over the area.
Marek also had a great playlist going in the car, which was such a nice touch and made the journeys even more enjoyable. 🎶 The communication from Thousand Miles was excellent too. I particularly appreciated being sent the car's number plate in advance.
Most importantly, my son absolutely loved the whole day. At the end he told me it was “the best day of our trip so far” and even called it “the best experience ever”... pretty much the best review a tour could get!
A huge thank you to Marek and Thousand Miles for such a fantastic and memorable day.

The journey to each activity was smooth. Do not book if rain is predicted. We were lucky and had blue skies. Merik the driver was absolutely brilliant and very knowledgeable of everything we did

It’s been a week since I’ve returned from this adventure and I can’t get over how much fun I’ve had! For someone who likes nature, experiencing something thrillingly new and savouring life to the fullest, this is for you. In addition, our guide Mirek was just the best guide/driver/fast friend ever! Our guide Simon made the whole day very enjoyable he was very knowledgeable and informative. We really enjoyed the whole trip especially the river rafting, the views were amazing, but we could have done with a pillow to sit on on the raft as our bums were a little numb when we got off.

This was one of our best tours for our entire trip to Poland. Niko was our guide and was incredible. We had so much an enjoyable time talking to him and it really set the tone for a great day. The day started out cold and rainy but it proved fortunate as we saw a rare to see salamander at the castle we stopped at first.
Next was the sheep’s cheese hut which honestly could have been a tour all on its own. Seeing this felt like a rare opportunity and the cheese was so good, we bought some to go and we will be talking about that cheese for a long time.
Next was the river raft. I would recommend wearing very warm clothes and multiple layers. We were thinking to dress more for rain (which the rain cleared up thank goodness) and could have used warmer clothes. The views were stunning. Simply stunning and I don’t think many people know how beautiful Poland is outside the cities.
Next was the water tasting which was really interesting.
Then off to the chairlift to see another spectacular view of the mountains. It’s a short lift ride up. We got a hot tea at the top to warm up a bit.
And last was a delicious dinner at a local restaurant recommended by Niko.
This is a long day but so worth every minute of it as you really get to see and experience a small slice of Poland outside of a major city. 100 out of 10 recommend.
