We arranged a 7am pick up. The afternoon the day before our tour this was changed to 4am. No refund was given even though I have a message to say we would get a full refund

    Absolutely perfectly...

Absolutely perfectly organized. Viator took care of everything. We opted for a private driver who was right on time, very informative about Krakow and Poland, and a pleasure to talk with. The Auschwitz tour is conducted by museum staff and was very informative and well organize.

    Efficient tour

Pick up at hotel, no waiting in lines, very efficient but costs more than most of the other tours. For me a good value.

    Thank you ❤️

    Careful who you book with

Your tickets are not prebooked - despite the description advising that the driver will give them to you. We wee picked up at 8am and when tickets "finally " secured we got a 3.30 entry to a 3 hour tour. Tour was fantastic but be very careful who you book with

We apologize for the inconvenience, it is currently the most difficult time of the season. Before the trip, we informed you about it.

Excellent service from the tour company, note you may be using the camp's own guides.

This is an emotionally difficult place to visit, and it's about an hour's drive outside of Krakow. Our driver, Daniel, was excellent. He picked us up at our hotel, made sure that we were comfortable, the car (Audi) was immaculate, and he chose a pretty, pleasant route. He also took the time to get us to the airport rather than back to the hotel, as we'd requested, and stopped for water and showed us a bit more than was on the tour at the end. He really took good care of us - I cannot say enough about what a good job he did. The tour agency itself could not get private tickets that day, since we booked very close to the time we wanted a tour, so we had to use the camp's own guides as part of a large group tour. The company went above and beyond so we didn't have to wait at the entrance. I think this may be the norm, using the camp's guides, but I am not sure. For us, this would have been fine but our particular guide set a hard pace (he was only slowed down by the also-visiting Polish army's marching pace ahead of him), and had a very strong accent and a bitter outlook, though who could blame him, really? It made for a challenging day in the heat and we were exhausted by the end. Again, not this tour company's fault, and it was what we had to do to see the camps on very short notice. We were especially grateful to Daniel for the refreshment stop afterward, and his comfortable car. Despite the pace, we learned a lot, even though both of us had a reasonable education about what happened in Auschwitz. The camps themselves assume that you know what happened in concentration camps, generally, and give you a particular view of what happened at that camp. If you are unfamiliar with the Holocaust, I suggest you at least read a general overview before you arrive. As a child I saw the films that the US military recorded of the atrocities at this and other camps, but such graphic images were not presented at this site, only a lot of harrowing facts and evidence. I was surprised by how many people in our guided group didn't know very much about it. This tour included Auschwitz and Birkenau.
