Meet your guide at a centrally located park or mosque, and continue to an all-star list of Cairo’s remarkable historic landmarks. Step into the Circassian Mamluk period at Al-Ishaqi mosque, and learn about the 15th-century prince who built its intricate facades and tiered minaret. Enter the old city through Bab Zuweila gate, a stunning remnant of Fatimid Cairo, where you can listen to stories about the long (and sometimes bloody) history of the site. Explore the distinctive 12th-century architecture of Al-Salih Tala’I mosque, then continue to the Faraj ibn Barquq, a funerary complex that may have also been a traditional madrasa.

Visit a remarkable lineup of sites in the heart of the old city: Sabil-Kuttab, Al Kurdi mosque, Gani Bek mosque, Al Burdayni mosque, Saint Safiyya mosque and the Museum of Islamic Art, which has one of the world’s greatest collections of art and artifacts from around the Islamic world.

This tour was completely over the top! My guide was especially interested in Coptic Cairo because it is his neighborhood. He thought about me and anticipated water, snacks, lunch, all details. He helped me decide to ride my attractive camel Mickie. I am no horsewoman but he and the camel lead helped me and were very patient when I inadvertently kicked he poor animal while I was mounting because I had a hip replacement. In spite of the replacement, the saddle was comfortable and they checked frequently to see if I was ok for the duration. It was so thrilling to me to see the Christian churches, synagogue and mosque all in one visit. This tour was the experience of a lifetime and I’ll never forget it. I also had the most delicious lamb for lunch! An incredible experience!

intense experience, our guide was knowledgeable, kind and professional Perhaps it would be interesting to include a morning and afternoon coffee break and a proposal for a lunch break, we were visiting for a full 6 hours without stopping.

Muhammad Swefy is a guide who has a lot passion for his job. He really wanted to show me the highlights, and the places that he knows as 'hidden secrets,' but actually available to anyone. However, he knows them in depth, and is happy to share his knowledge. My tour lasted three hours, yet if I could have stayed longer, he was willing to carry on because we had only seen a fraction of the main sites on his list. I learned a lot and truly enjoyed the tour with Muhammad. Best with a few people.
