Beautiful scenery all along the route and stunning coastline. We couldn't see the peak due to foggy weather but everything else was still well worth it!

Our guide, Oscar was very knowledgeable and able to answer all of our questions. The trip was really well organised and we got to see a wide range of areas dotted around the east side of the island. It would have been great to spent more time at the mountain viewpoint but given how many places are on the itinerary it wasn't possible to stay longer. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for an introduction to the east of Madeira

Oscar was a brilliant tour guide. He had his work cut out as the weather was awful so the first 2 stops were totally written off. We couldn’t get off the mini bus as the rain was that heavy, however that didn’t deter Oscar from carrying on. He was very knowledgeable about the island and the fruit and veg that was grown in the areas. We spent an hour in Sentana, thankfully the rain held off and as the day went on the weather brightened up and we were able to enjoy some of the amazing view points across the west of the island.

We had an impressive Sunday tour with good explanations on the countryside, plants and history.
If guest likew they could even do a short walk along the levada.

Bad weather threatened to spoil this trip as clouds were down , meaning the views were not visible on the high peaks. We were also sharing the bus with two Polish guests and this could have made communication a problem. Things were not looking promising. Enter Carlos, our driver, who sensing the mood began to share his encyclopaedic knowledge of the flora and fauna around us, in such an amicable way, that soon we were all behaving like old friends, not new acquaintances. With the improved mood cane better weather and again Carlos took us to a viewpoint off schedule as we had missed the earlier one.One minor grumble, in that the restaurant stop was away from Santan so we had a limited choice of whether to eat or not. We hadnt intended to but we had an hour and a half to kill so we opted for the very good lunch, where we got to know our Polish friends a little better.
The sights continued to impress , as did Carlos with his continual narration and explanation of what we were seeing.
We arrived back, tired but feeling that we had had a brilliant day out, and it could have beeen a disaster, so hats off to Carlos who saved the day.

Aunque en un principio hubo un despiste y nos dejaron esperando, se solventó enseguida y pudimos hacer la ruta.
El paseo por los balcones es impresionante, no puedes irte de la isla sin pasar por ayi, la zona de las casas enA, aunque me decepcióno un poquito, porque por foto da que pensar que el pueblo es asi, es una zona donde siguen habilitada unas pocas de casa, aún así son una maravilla ver cómo en la isla mantienen sus costumbres y su cultura.
El punto negativo fue el conductor guia, explicó lo justito para saber dónde estábamos, y su forma de conducir un poco temararia

Start am Morgen in leichtem Regen. Kein Problem - das ist Madeira. Den Tourguide wird schon das Beste draus machen… Hat er aber leider nicht.
Der Minibus: 8-Sitzer, bis auf den letzten Platz belegt. Ich saß mit einer fremden Frau vorne - eng an eng, die Knie an die Mittelkonsole gequetscht … für 8 Stunden?!
Wir fuhren in den ersten 1-1,5 h auf den Pico Areiro. Sicht: null. Regen: peitschend, waagerecht. Außer 50 Cent für die Toilette - nichts.
Ein paar Minuten weiter sollten wir aussteigen und eine Forellenzucht anschauen - auch kein Vergnügen im strömenden Regen. Leute, es gibt Webcams und Ihr solltet einen Plan B haben. Es ist der Urlaub Eurer Gäste und für den haben sie hart gearbeitet. Ein verlorener Tag wiegt schwer! Am Nachmittag wurde das Wetter besser. Ich hätte erwartet, dass der Fahrer noch rausholt, was rauszuholen ging. Er machte noch einen Aussichtspunkt-Stop auf unsere entschiedene Bitte, ansonsten keinerlei Ideen oder Überraschungen (obwohl er morgens angekündigt hatte, er sei zeitlich komplett flexibel).
Noch schlimmer: den ganzen Tag über keine positiven Vibes vom Fahrer. Er nuschelte während der Fahrt herum. Kaum zu verstehen. Er zeigte auf ein paar Pflanzen und nannte die Namen. Keine Geschichten über Madeira, keine Interaktion, um uns trotz des Wetters zu unterhalten. Im Bus herrschte Ruhe. Die Gäste lernten sich nicht kennen. Es war einfach nicht gut gemacht und damit schade um den Tag!
(Das Gegenteil erlebte ich gestern - ebenfalls teilweise Regen, andere Company, andere Tour: bequemer Sitz, kommunikativer und lustiger Fahrer, der anscheinend alles! über Madeira wusste und dies mit den Gästen geteilt hat UND der die Tour ans Wetter angepasst hat.)

Die Tour ist super geplant. Wir wurden pünktlich vor unserer Unterkunft abgeholt. Unser Guide Carlos ist sehr nett und hat uns alles sehr gut erklärt. An jedem Tourpunkt hatten wir genug Zeit. Wir können diese Tour nur empfehlen, aber man muss englisch können. Danke
