Itinerary

Make your way to Piazza dell' Unità, where this tour begins, then learn the basics of Florence cuisine as you walk to the first stop of the day, a local market. Taste freshly rolled pasta, extra virgin olive oil, truffles, and cantucci biscuits, crunchy almond cookies that are beloved in Tuscany. Whet your appetite for the rest of the tour with small bites that combine prosciutto, cheeses, and seasonal garnish—as you nibble, your guide will share the delicious history of eating appetizers before meals.

Continue to the next foodie destination to try typical Florentine dishes and get the scoop on the ingredients, history, and preparation of each. Throughout the tour, you’ll see a combination of classic Florentine highlights and lesser-known destinations, walking past the Duomo, the Santa Croce Basilica, San Lorenzo Market, Palazzo Vecchio, and the Piazza della Signoria.

Finish the tour with a sweet note, capping off the meal with a dish or cone of Italian gelato: the beloved treat has been a favorite with Florentines since the Renaissance. This food tour of Florence concludes at the Santa Croce Basilica.

This is such a great way to explore the city and try local foods you wouldn't know to try otherwise. Valerie was a fabulous tour guide. She was so patient, knowledgeable, and funny. We were able to try so many great dishes both sweet and savory. Even though they were mostly small bites, we left with full bellies. I would recommend this to anyone visiting Firenze!

We had a fantastic time with our guide Francesco. He gave us so much history of Florence and the food. And some great food tips for the rest of our time in Florence.

Informative city tour with great experience of food tasting

HUILING_Y, May 2025
Great experience with our guide Francesco who showed us around the city along with food tasting. Everything went very well even there was a marathon taking place in the city.

Great Guide, Great Food, Great Experience

Kelly_B, Apr 2025
This tour is a must! Marielisa was a fabulous guide, taking us to hidden places in the streets of Florence with great tastings and a delicious pasta meal before the most amazing gelato!

Underwhelming

Grant_G, Apr 2025
We had a wonderful guide and the walking tour was insightful. But the food portion of the tour was completely underwhelming. We needed to find a restaurant afterwards to eat a full meal because we were still hungry. Feeding tourists chicken liver pâté didn’t go over well with the group.

Excellent food tour and superb tour guide! Food and restaurant selection were outstanding! Anna, our tour guide was phenomenal! Her knowledge about Florentine cooking and Florentine history were remarkable! Highly recommend this tour!

A highlight of Florence!

Rebecca_R, Mar 2025
The fact that we are giving this five stars even with missing the last stop says a lot, Lorenzo was very personable and welcoming, He fanned us repeatedly with his visual aids, Perfect thing to start a trip to Florence, sandwiches and bolognese were perfect, oil, truffle, and spread tasting was so amazing. We bought some to take home. We had to leave a little bit early to make it to a different reservation, but Lorenzo was understanding and accommodating. Overall a very affordable and fun way to spend a few hours!

A Bonzer Time

Miles_B, Feb 2025
I thoroughly enjoyed this food tour, as it gave me a nice introduction to Florence and the food native to the Tuscan region. Lorenzo (our guide) was friendly, extremely engaging … and the food was great (spoiler: think cantucci biscuits, pane scoccio soaked in single-press olive oil, 15 year old balsamic and delicious panini). Just don’t expect to be filled up and you’ll have a bonzer time.

Fantastic time for all

Jonathan_G, Feb 2025
Lorenzo did a fantastic time. He encouraged us all and gave simple clear instructions. That plus the wine and good jokes allowed all to have a great time!

Fantastic tour

Sunil_P, Nov 2024
The tour guide Marilisa was fantastic. She explained about every aspect during the food tour and took us to authentic family run food shops.

A fun foodie tour

Anna was wonderful and knowledgeable. We’ve learned a few things that was very interesting. Although, the lunch menu can be improved.

A must do!

My family so enjoyed this fun and informative tour! Florentine history mixed with deliciousness! Anna was wonderful! Highly recommend!

New tastes made us feel like Florentino’s

Jessica_R, Oct 2024
Our guide Valerie was amazing! We were celebrating my parent’s 50th wedding anniversary, so we had a group of 14 including adults, teens, and young children. There was plenty to eat and we were able to learn about the food culture in Florence. We had an insider who suggested eating foods I never would have known about without her. I highly recommend this tour!

Funny flavorful and (Un)forgetable

Brianna_C, Jun 2024
Memorable and delicious - what else could you ask for?! Some of our “best bites” in Italy came from this tour including the little ham sandwich bites and the bolognese. Our guide was also hilarious! Thank you for a great experience!

One Day in Florance

Michael_K, Jun 2024
Traveling through Florance to our Tuscan Villa only provided about 8 hours to see the city. This food tour was a great way to experience the city, its food and see most of the main sites. I'd recommend this tour as a great way to familarize yourself with Florance (at taste some great food along the way).

Must do for a foodie

Subia_A, Jun 2024
Amazing! Our guide Delora (hope I spelled it right) was informative, fun , and attentive. Highly recommend! Food was delicious! (I had the vegetarian option).

Great tour

casherwood54, Apr 2024
Marilisa was a wonderful tour guide and my husband and I both enjoyed the tour. It was nice to be able to sit at a restaurant for one of the stops instead of having to try and eat pasta standing in the street. We learned a lot about the local food and some of the locals.
