We couldn’t have been in better hands than with Chefs Usama and Meryem. While we booked for the cooking experience, it was so much more. First, the former palace-now Palais Amani hotel was stunning and the hospitality from the moment we entered was next level. They inquired about allergies and dietary restrictions before making suggestions and allowing to change if needed. We knew the fun would begin with a trip to the Medina to buy our vegetables and fruits, but it was so much more informative thanks to Meryem and Usama who explained details we didn’t know as foreigners and allowed us to sample local treats, including what had to be the best mint tea in all of Morocco. We can’t begin to say how comfortable we felt with both, due to their warm, welcoming, and jovial nature. We could have talked to them all night. Needless to say, coming back and cooking with both was a delight. We dined on our amazing dishes after in the ambient restaurant like all other guests. We can honestly say our starter, main entree, and dessert were beyond tasty. The staff even took time to walk us to our taxi and secure one. All in all, this experience was beyond a 5-star. Look no further. There is a reason why this experience receives high ratings!

Wonderful cooking school

This was more than just a cooking class. It was a food and culture tour. After being greeted with the traditional mint tea, we went with the chefs to the Medina to shop for dinner ingredients at the souks. Along the way, they explained life in the Medina, pointed out different types of food, and generally enriched the experience. We even had herb tea at an extraordinary tea house. Then we returned to the beautiful rooftop setting to cook tajine and eggplant salad and dessert. The cooking process was fun and educational. And then we got to eat - yum, yum!! The hostess was amazing - funny, welcoming, and full of information. It was a great experience from start to finish!

Wonderful experience cooking in Palais Amani

We had the most fantastic experience at the cooking class in Palais Amani. Upon arrival we were given some tea and cookies while relaxing in the beautiful gardens. From there we walked around the Souk getting our ingredients for dinner while trying some tasty local food and drinking some tea. We arrived back to the Palais and began to cook under the instruction of the chef. Once cooking was complete we ate our dinner in the beautiful gardens. Our guides, chef and all the staff at Palais Amani were so friendly which made our experience unforgettable. I would recommend this class to anyone visiting the beautiful city of Fes!!

A great way to experience Fes

Chefs Loubna and Oussama are THE best. We booked it for our wedding anniversary and they were both so thoughtful on making sure that we have an unforgettable experience from beginning to end. The location is fantastic, the market visit to buy the products for the recipes was very interesting and fun, the cooking class in the rooftop was just perfect ! What a great way to experience Fes. This was the best thing we did in Morocco! Loubna (hostess, translator and chef) and our Chef instructor were absolutely awesome! It started with a tour of the souk and picking out our vegetables and buying spices. And the cooking portion was enjoyable and educational. I couldn’t recommended this enough!

This was such a wonderful tour and definitely one of our highlights in Morocco! We went shopping to purchase local ingredients from the medina, tasted traditional soup, and brought all of our goods back to the raid. The cooking class was held at a stunning raid with a panoramic view of Fes. The class was intimate, with just one other couple, for a total of 4 students and 1 chef. The chef taught us several unique tricks, including a new technique to chop garlic and tomato that I will continue to use in all of my dishes! After cooking our dishes, all the students sat together and enjoyed their meal. Everything appeared sanitary and was a very relaxed and enjoyable experience.

We really enjoyed the food tour prior to the cooking class where we bought local ingredients. We stopped by an excellent mint tea shop and had some of the best tea ever. The cooking class was on a roof top with an fantastic view of Fez. This added to the experience. The Chef was knowledgeable and great to work with. After we ate the meal we made in the hotel terrace. Everything was fantastic. My friends and I highly recommend this cooking experience.

Lubna (translator) and chef were amazing. Lubna is funny, bubbly and made us laugh, it was a very entertaining night. Chef would just chuckle at my heaping spoons of spices (twice what she would recommend) however at the end I was in awe of how delicious my chicken tanjine came out, as well as my eggplant appetizer and desert. We had an incredible time, would definitely recommend

What a wonderful way to end our trip to Morocco! We were greeted with mint tea and cookies and immediately felt at home. Fatima was a wonderful guide through the souk and very knowledgeable and helpful. Our chef, Oussam was terrific as he guided us through shopping and preparing the meal. Then we got to sit in the lovely garden and enjoy our lunch. It really was a special day! I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a class in Fez.

C’était une expérience incroyable. La chef Ouafae et la coordinatrice Soukaina sont d’une gentillesse et très amusantes. Nous avons adoré notre atelier sur les toits du palais avec une vue imprenable sur Fes. Nous repartons avec plein de recettes typiques que nous avons hâte de reproduire. La visite de la médina reste également inoubliable, nous avons eu l’occasion de goûter et découvrir plein de choses différentes. Choses que nous n’aurions pas forcément eu l’occasion de tester. Nous recommandons et recommanderons cette expérience.
