The class itself was great! We enjoyed the experience very much. However, our reservation said that pick up from our lodging was included but we were told that it’s not included. So at the last minute we had to figure out transportation. The taxi driver did not know the area where the cooking class was and left us at the bottom of the hill. We had to walk uphill quite a distance. Then the cooking class location had several flights of stairs.

Highlight of my trip to Morocco. My host was awesome, she made me feel right at home. I made the chicken couscous which was delicious, although I’m sure anything else you make in this class would be great. You do not want to miss this class!

What an amazing cooking class and a warm welcome into their family home! The food and experience was amazing

This was an amazing experience. We were able to travel into a residential area and the class was in a home. Not only did we cook some wonderful food, but we also were able to see what a lovely home and family the hostess had. Brian spoke beautiful English and was very kind in instructing us on preparation. We made vegetable couscous and Zaalouk as well as a cucumber and tomato salad, mint tea and sweets. We would highly recommend this experience.

This cooking experience was amazing, Yassine welcomed us into her beautiful home and taught us step by step how to make dishes from a selected menu. I would definitely recommend this to someone who wants to taste authentic Moroccan food.

This was a mixed bag for me. I love taking cooking classes when I'm abroad because I enjoy learning for to make local dishes and learning more about the culture and cooking methods. This proved impossible since the cook didn't speak any English.
The experience started with a pickup who was solely there for transport to the cook's home. Once there, I was greeted with the cook and I think, her grandson? Her grandson did most of the translating but since he wasn't in the kitchen most of the time, we had to communicate through hand signals.
The cook was super sweet and she tried her best to communicate with me and the tagine turned out fantastic, better than some of dishes that I've ordered at restaurants.
I was surprised that I wasn't given a recipe so that I knew how to make it again.
Beyond the communication barrier, the transport was a bit odd. I was told that it would be 40 dirham each way, I give the guy a 100 bill and then asks for an additional 10 and gives me a 20 back. Did he just give himself a tip?
The cook was sweet but I think I would've enjoyed it more if she and somebody couldn't explained the process more.. I'm paying for a class after all I'm here to learn.

Nice experience although more interactivity and sharing about traditions and culture would be great. Upgrade of the kitchen equipment would also be warranted. The area where it is located is however a bit dodgy in the evening, I highly recommend to organize transport in advance as several taxis didn’t want to travel in the area in the evening.

Great way to learn about moroccan cuisine. Our host was really nice and made us feel welcome. Highly recommend

I was looking for a local cooking experience in someone's home and this was it! It was really interesting to visit someone in their home. Btissem was friendly, spoke good english and helped me learn to make the dish I'd chosen - tagine with beef and carmelised prunes. The place was immaculate and it turned out it was a private lesson. If you want to learn to cook like a local I highly recommend Btissem!

Our host, Btissam, and mother Maria live in a modest flat outside the medina up on a hillside. It is not a commercial property, which is exactly what we wanted to avoid. The experience was most authentic. Btissam met our private tour van at the end of the block in her neighborhood and walked us to their home. She had everything well organized, and her direction was so pleasant and cheerful. We prepared three main dishes and additional sides, beginning with food preparation. I discovered that my friend Tom has no idea how to dice an onion!!! The entire morning was so enjoyable. Our wives learned how to make couscous that tastes ridiculously good, not the dry and flavorless that we are accustomed to here at home. Our finished meal was amazing. We ate in the family dining room, and we were served mint tea, of course. But the special bonus was when Maria, who does not speak English motioned for us to follow her to the roof of their building to see her private heaven, if I am translating correctly. And heaven it was with a spectacular 180 degree view of Fes and the entire medina. It took our breath away.

So much fun, great fun and Maria gave us a copy of the recipe at the end.
Great views from the apartment and she will organise a taxi if needed

Highly recommend booking a cooking class while in Morocco! We enjoyed our time and earned extra appreciation for the Moroccan dishes as we learned how much preparation goes into cooking these meals. The experience was fun and the food at the end was amazing. We are very basic cooks and received easy tasks! Highly recommend!

This was an authentic family experience as I was welcomed into this home and cooked and conversed with the family. The cous cous that we cooked was superb, and it was followed by excellent mint tea and cookies. I greatly enjoyed learning more about Moroccan culture, and definitely enjoyed the food

We loved this cooking class with Yassina! She was so friendly and welcoming. She explained everything really well and the food we cooked was delicious! Would recommend this to anyone looking for an authentic Moroccan cooking experience 😊

The energy was amazing upon meeting Yassine! I am so glad that I chose this cooking experience. The There were a plethora of selections on the menu to chose from & I teetered on which one to choose. Once I decided, I selected the couscous with caramelized onions, raisins & almonds (chicken) ….It was absolutely delicious! She explained everything and I actually had my hands in the cooking process. Not one complaint What an awesome experience!

Incredible experience! Authentic. Our guiding chef, who's name I cannot remember but who's face and warm smile is in front of my eyes (i'm sorry for my poor memory), accepted us into her home and had everything ready and organized. The actual cooking was so much fun. We were taught step my step and created a delicious feast that we feel capable of replicating upon our return to our home country. Highly recommend this experience, it is an authentic moroccan and wholesome experience with truly good hearted people. 10/10 experience.

This experience was collectively one of our favorite things we did on our trip. The food we made was incredible, and the host was so kind! She eve sat down with us after the meal and we shared stories and photos of our lives. We had a travel delay that day and they were so accommodating to us. We highly recommend using the option for transportation, as Fes can be a very confusing city to navigate, and the price was very reasonable. I will now always make sure to book a local cooking experience in every city based on our experience in Fes!

Yassine was a lovely teacher-chef, patient, happy and clear communicator. His mother also helped and created an authentic atmosphere. We had a lovely day cooking tajines and cous cous!
Antonio_C, Apr 2024
Yassine is great! The entire experience from start to finish is wonderful. You have over 12 dishes to choose from and you get to go to a local market to purchase the ingredients. This was a highlight from my trip to Fes
Cherrill_L, Mar 2024
Well before our class, we were contacted by Yassine and asked to choose 2 dishes to make on the day. There was a really good selection.
We opted to be picked up and dropped off at our Riad for a small extra charge. This was a sensible move as the lesson takes place in Yassine’s apartment and it would have been very difficult to find otherwise.
The kitchen was spotless. All the ingredients and equipment that we needed were out ready. Yassine instructed us in the preparation and cooking of our Moroccan dishes. The final results and presentation was checked by his mum which was quite amusing! Afterwards we were rewarded with a very tasty lunch followed by orange slices with cinnamon and freshly made mint tea.
Yassine sent us our recipes later by WhatsApp with very detailed instructions so that we can confidently reproduce the authentic tastes of Morocco at home.
The best things about our cookery course were the excellent communication before and after, Yassine’s patient instruction and good organisation and the great tasting food that resulted.

Excellent cooking class.
We learnt how to make a tagine and cous cous.
We were also given the recipe so we can make the dish. Was a lovely experience and would recommend
Robert_B, Mar 2024
We enjoyed our cooking class (as well as the resulting food) with Yassine and would definitely recommend the experience.
We chose to make the beef/prune tagine and zaalouk dishes. It was really interesting seeing how these dishes are made authentically in Morocco, as opposed to from recipes in cook books.
Yassine was very organised, knowledgeable and great company.

We are a family of 4 (kids both 10yrs) that participated in a cooking class with Yassine and family and we had a ball! The food we cooked was better than we have had in restaurants around Morocco and Yassine provided insight to not only cook great Moroccan food, but also to Moroccan culture. To top it off, Yassine took us to his 'Spice Man' in the Medina on the way home so we could stock up on the same spices that we used in the class plus more. It was a great experience and highly recommended

Home cooking with Nassim and his sister …what a fabulous experience for our boys. And great food ! Thankyou to you and your family .
Alex_S, Jan 2024
Truly the best, most authentic experience we had in Morocco. Yassine and his family are so kind, welcoming and lovely!! It was a pleasure to spend the evening with them learning how to make typical Moroccan food. Not only that - but Yassine went above and beyond to take us to the spot inside the Medina where he buys his spices when we asked him so that we could go home with the same spices we learned to use. Truly a memorable and extremely wonderful experience. 10/10 would recommend.

Really enjoyed the cooking class and especially the food afterwards. Yassine and his wife were super kind and helpful with everything and made sure I have special experience. Thanks again!

What an amazing experience! Welcomed with open arms, we had a great family experience cooking and learning about Morocco! If you’re in Fes, this is a must-do item!

Yassine was a great host for the cooking course, we had a lot of fun learning how to cook Moroccan cuisine with him, he was super knowledgeable and gave us a great insight into the culture of Fes. He showed me that I've been using a potato peeler wrong my whole life, that tip alone was worth the price of the course!
The end result was really tasty - we'll definitely be cooking Tagine at home! Afterwards, he recommended the spice shop where he gets his spices from, he phoned up the owner who kept the shop open for us, it was great, we even got a taxi there to the Medina with his mamma. Overall fantastic experience, great guy and we'd fully recommend this to anyone!

I had been in Morocco for about a week when I finally did the cooking class. I had had multiple dishes of Kafta and Tagines throughout my trip but it was so much better when I cooked it myself. The others in my session were great! I would definitly recommend this cooking class!
