    From Bologna Piazza Malpighi take bus n 94 or 671 direction Bazzano and get off at Ceretolo Vivaldi bus stop. From Bologna Central train station, at west platform, take the train direction Vignola and get off at Casalecchio Palasport. Then it is a 5 mins walk. I can come to pick you up if you need.

If you want an authentic, delicious and entertaining gelato experience, then book it now with Alesandro! His home is on the outskirts of Bologna, but he gave excellent directions and it was so worth it. Grazie mille!

I write this as I am eating more gelato that we brought back to our Airbnb after our morning at Alexander’s gelato lab. This is the best gelato we’ve ever had! We learned so much this morning and really enjoyed learning about the relationships between ingredients, the process and the importance of the temperature. We made granita which was tasty and interesting, and had a choice of flavors for our gelato. We chose Fiore de latte and pistachio and then were gelato like we’ve never had before, all because they were so fresh. We are so glad that we had this experience ! Thank you Alexander!

Alessandro's class was a lot of fun and is very interesting. We learned about the differences between gelato, iced cream, granita, and sorbet and he took us through all the procedures to make them. All the while he did it with humor and made everything look easy! You can clearly see that Alessandro prepares his classes very well and that he knows a lot about the art of gelato making by years of experience in his own shop. He'll guide you smoothly through the different steps of preparing gelato and granita, so you'll be able to eat really tasty, self-made products during the workshop and back home!

We traveled out of Bologna to come do this gelato lab and it was so so worth it! I cannot recommend it enough, Alessandro was super knowledgeable about all things sweet - we were treated to hazelnut and pistachio paste tastings and learnt about granita, sorbet and gelato. He was so kind and entertaining, do not miss out on this opportunity!

Gelato Fun To Be Had!!!!!

OMG!! This cooking class was SO MUCH FUN!! Alessandro was so friendly & knowledgeable-we learned a ton about making authentic gelato & granita!! The class is in his beautiful home just a quick train ride and 5 minute walk away from Bologna central. And can I just say YUMMY!! We each made our favorite flavor and got to share our finished product. He even packaged up our remaining gelato in insulated boxes to carry with us. Don’t miss this experience!! Alessandro’s home is in the beautiful Casalecchio neighborhood that happens to have the most amazing shopping mall & Primark just across from the train station so after class we hopped over for some shopping fun & great dining options. Makes for a great day!!

Fue una grata experiencia. Alessandro fue muy amable y nos enseño de manera muy clara y entretenida cómo hacer el vero gelato italiano. Vimos distintos tipos de helados, conocimos de la historia del helado, y nos divertimos mucho cocinando y entendiendo el proceso que se requiere para hacer un buen gelato. Además pudimos disfrutar de lo que cocinamos después de que finalizó el taller. Es un muy buen taller, lo recomiendo 100%.
