Maiky was incredibly personable and knowledgeable. He’s been running this tour for two years and takes you through several barrios and neighborhoods. It was so great to have the chance to visit a few homes and colmadas and meet locals that make Santo Domingo so vibrant. I would definitely recommend this tour to groups or solo travelers.

We had such an amazing time with Maiky! His knowledge of the neighborhoods, the metro, and the Teleferico was impressive, and his fun facts about local life really brought the city to life. He was energetic, engaging, and switched seamlessly between English and Spanish to accommodate everyone. Highly recommend!

Our tour guide was Mikey and he was super cool. We were actually 20 mins late and he was not upset at all! We still experienced the full tour even though we were late and we tasted a lot of different foods. IT was great. I would highly recommend !

A unknown side of the town

It was a nice experience leading us to search the unknown side of the town, a neighborhood where people live a different not so easy life. The tour with the cable car gives the opportunity to see the favellas by the air, visit also the favellas provides a live touch with the local community. Thanks to our tour guide Mikey who explained details.

It was great! Maiky and his boss were Awesome. They new everything and everybody. The potato ice cream was fantastic and so was the lady that lived there. Her brother was funny and nice as well....Was supposed to go on the beach tour the next morning but didn't wake up in time. Definitely, definitely advise to take this tour for a Dominican experience. WONDERFUL!!!

One of the best immersion experiences ever on a vacation. For those looking for something other than the typical tourist attraction destinations this is a must. Juan is a historian with a wealth of knowledge of the surrounding area. Our tour felt like two buddies strolling through the hood interacting with the locals, who are all friendly and warm, including Florita who made us a delicious authentic Dominican breakfast. Juan gave me the history of the town he grew up in, the country, and Columbus. Thoroughly enjoyed it and learned so much along the way. BTW, the mangos and zapotes I bought from the fruit stands were outstanding. Thanks, Juan!
