Overview

Enjoy the open countryside on this full-day, guided, ATV tour that includes visits to a cigar shack, a secluded beach, and a Dominican lunch. After a safety briefing and training, set off along the coast. Pass by locals, scenery, animals, and vegetation and stop for lunch and swim break at the beach. Head home in a safari-style vehicle while relaxing with a cool rum drink.

DO NOT BOOK THIS TOUR IF YOU ARE STAYING LOCALLY AT A HOTEL OR RESORT. THIS TOUR IS FOR CRUISE SHIP PASSENGERS ONLY! WE DO NOT HAVE TIME SLOTS. We leave port 45 minutes after your ship docks. A map and meeting point pickup details will be sent to your Viator/TripAdvisor message board. Please disembark as quickly as possible and be at the pickup location not more than 45 minutes after your ship docks.

Itinerary

Make the most of your time on shore on this guided ATV adventure. Enjoy convenient pickup within walking distance of the cruise port at Amber Cove.

After a short drive, arrive at the village of Maimon for a safety briefing, instruction on operating the ATVs, and to gear up. Head out on your ATVs, following your guide. Take advantage of a quick stop to take photos of your cruise ship in port behind you. Then head into the countryside, riding on dirt roads to reach a local cigar shack, where you can sample chocolate, coffee, and Mamajuana.

You’ll then ride to a secluded beach, where you can go for a swim, and savor the included lunch. The tour ends with transfers back to your cruise ship. Helmets, bottled water, and a rum drink after your tour are all included.

We had the best day!!! Robert and Wilson were our guides for the day and they took great care of us. The ATV's were excellent and we had a blast driving all over the island. We got to ride along the beach and thru water and streams. It was amazing. Lunch was amazing and delicious. We sat in a great location and ate really great food and relaxed... I would highly recommend them and would go again on any of the Iguana Mamma Tours!!! 2 big thumbs up to Robert and Wilson... They made it awesome!!!!

Great fun for all!

We traveled in December so it was quite muddy which added to the fun. But, be mindful that everything can get wet and dirty, so only bring items you really need. Plan to bring a water proof bag to store your stuff and you can attach it to the ATV. I had no experience with driving and ATV but learned real quick. They take you on trails that were fun and safe. We had one ATV that the chain kept dropping off. The attendees quickly switched out the unit with another and we were back onto the fun.

The ATV ride was just ok, but the stop for lunch on the beach was fantastic, food was great!!!!!!

Great excursion with awesome guide

My fiance and I had an amazing time on the atv excursion. Alex the tour guide was awesome. We rode to a spot to see people hand roll cigars and then to a beautiful beach. After that we drove through a small river to a little beach hang out where we had some delicious food. We then drove the atvs back to the bus to head back to port. Alex was very knowledgeable explaining local sights and views. The ride was exciting with some water to drive through and mostly dirt rode but never dangerous or super challenging. We weren't worried at all about getting back to the port on time as Alex and his team were always aware of the time. Over all a great experience with Alex and the iguana mamma team. Definitely book with them if you are in amber cove. A safe and almost certainly more exciting excursions than booking with the ship.

Fun ride

This was a great way to end 2019! The guide, Robert, made it fun. He made sure everyone could work the controls safely before leaving, but let us go fast once we were on the road We rode for a long time, had a picnic on the beach, gave us time to relax. They kept the groups nice & small for a good experience. Only disappointing thing was we didn't actually get to ride on beach. He explained the regulations have changed. Still plenty of opportunities to get dirty! Thanks for a great time!

Great Ride!

We would highly recommend this excursion. We were able to ride for about 3 hours (Going almost wide open, not putting along in first gear) Then were stopped for a delicious Dom. Rep. lunch on the beach with time to relax and swim. Alexander was a great guide. The total trip lasted about 5 hours, but got us back to the ship in plenty of time.
