Giannis was the perfect guide

We ended up in this port on my wife’s birthday and had a tour with Giannis leading the way. We had a van to ourselves so we got to weigh in on things to see. Giannis took great pride in the area and treated us to many sights during the day. He even bought a piece of cake to help us celebrate. We were able to go to a few places in the monestary that are usually closed so that was special. Great day!

1/2 Day Private Tour of Chania - WOW! WOW! WOW!

The four of us have just returned from our 1/2 Day Tour of Chania and I can’t even begin to describe what a fantastic day it was. Once again, the ongoing communication with Viator as well as the tour company leading up to our tour was flawless. 5 hours went by in the blink of an eye. First of all, Iannis had water, fruit & pastries waiting for us in his beautiful air conditioned van and then off we went. From the monastery (where I cannot begin to describe the magnificence of it), to a phenomenal wine and oil tasting in the basement of the monastery - wow!!), to the tour of Old Town, a lovely walk through the town and off up into the mountains for the most magnificent vistas I have ever seen. To top it all off, it was our friend’s birthday and while we were walking through Old Town, Iannis had arranged to have little cakes, complete with a birthday candle, delivered to his van for all of us to enjoy. Definitely a 5+ star experience.

We absolutely loved our tour yesterday with Ioanis in Chania!! He was so personable and knowledgeable in regards to the history of the area. He drove us all over the island telling us about each area pointing out specifics regarding past and present! We really liked the drive and walk through Old Town with the mix of very old buildings from long ago amid the newer ones! And the visit to the Monastery was a huge highlight along with the wine tasting and olive oil tasting. Chania is a gorgeous area that we thoroughly enjoyed thanks to Ioanis attention to details! And last but not least was the fun stop at the end of the tour regarding the process of making olive oil along with the tasting and smooth-like shot of alcohol.! Thank you Ioanis as well as thank you for the special olive oil biscuits and the nice thank you gift bag with the pen, wine opener and bottle of Stalia Silver Cretan Liqueur!!
