A vehicle failure severely curtailed our activity and ruined the experience.
The primary issue was the RZR vehicle we were provided. We were delayed while waiting for the second of your two RZRs to become available, as one of the RZRs was inoperable. The tour of the back acreage was extremely slow, and nothing like that was marketed by your group. The tour occurs in what I would describe as a back parking lot/acreage. Nothing like what we expected or experienced before. Less than halfway through the back acreage, the RZR overheated three separate times, spewing hot (over 200-degree) antifreeze onto the four riders each time. Each time we had to wait for the unit to cool down before we could continue on, therefore wasting 30-45+ minutes.
After the third incident, we exited the vehicle. We waited 10–15 minutes until two other gentlemen arrived and provided us with ATVs to return to the main office. During this time, other ATV groups passed by, clearly enjoying the fast-paced, muddy experience we had been promised but did not receive.
Due to our complete dissatisfaction with the adventure, we asked the guide to skip the remainder of the itinerary, proceed to lunch, and then drop us off near the cruise terminal.
We were disappointed that, despite the seriousness of the incident involving a vehicle failure and exposure to scalding hot liquid, no one from management contacted us or offered an apology. The only communication was our guide asking us to complete a review.
After the ride, you walk through COCO's backyard, where they have you taste tortillas and chocolate, then go to a tequila area where they hard sell you on the product. You then drive around the island in a Jeep that clearly needs repair, as every light is on and the hood shakes loose, going to tourist areas that have tents set up to sell.
After the tour, you go to COCO's resort/restaurant, where you are served your food and taken back into town.

Hello Jarrod,
We would like to sincerely apologize, as you are correct in pointing out the issues you encountered with the RZR.
The vehicles were not poorly maintained; however, during the days prior to your tour, Cozumel received constant and heavy rain, resulting in an extremely muddy off-road track. The excessive humidity caused unexpected electrical failures and overheating in some units. At the same time, we were facing delays in receiving specific replacement parts from the United States, which further limited our ability to resolve the problem as quickly as we normally would.
We are truly sorry that your tour fell within this window of difficulty. This does not reflect the level of service or satisfaction that our Guests consistently experience, as shown by the 97% of 5-stars reviews we have received. Unfortunately, a few departures during this period were affected despite our Team’s efforts to keep up with all bookings as responsibly as possible.
Because the incident at the beginning of the tour understandably created frustration, we also recognize that the rest of the itinerary was no longer enjoyable for you. We’re sorry that this situation affected your perception of the additional activities, including the tequila tasting. This experience is not designed to be a hard-sell environment, and most visitors enjoy it as an informative cultural presentation.
There is one point, however, that we must clarify for accuracy and safety: it is extremely unlikely that the vehicle “spewed over 200-degree scalding coolant” onto the riders multiple times. Such temperatures would result in severe burns requiring urgent medical treatment or hospitalization, which was not the case here. Overheating can create unpleasant splashing or steam, but not at the dangerous levels described. Still, we fully acknowledge that the overheating issue disrupted your tour, and for that we sincerely apologize.
Regarding your comment about the terrain, our off-road experience does not take place in a parking lot or back acreage. It is a controlled jungle course that extends for several miles, designed to provide a safe yet adventurous ride for our Guests.
We also want to reassure you that your refund request has been properly addressed through Viator/Tripadvisor as part of out standard process.
Once again, we are truly sorry for the inconvenience you experienced and appreciate the opportunity to review and improve.
Sincerely yours,
The Coco Adventours Cozumel Team

Our first time in Cozumel and took longer than expected to find meet up point. After pickup had 4 stops including tequila tasting tour, ATV ride, taco tasting and ride to South Beach area. We then went to COCOS Beach club and had fresh tacos. Overall we had a great time and really enjoyed the experience! Special thank you to Rodrigo, our amazing driver and host, as well as Donnie, who was brave enough to lead us on our ATV ride through trails at Sabores de property. We will be back again for another adventure!!
Response from Host, Nov 2025

Exploring the island through a mix of activities — from the tequila explanation and ATV trails to the food tastings and the time at Coco’s Beach Club — creates a full day of discovery, and it’s wonderful to hear that each stop added something special to your experience.
Rodrigo’s hosting and Donnie’s energy on the ATV portion both play a big part in shaping a day that flows smoothly and stays fun from beginning to end.
We truly appreciate your kind words and would be delighted to welcome you back on your next trip to Cozumel for even more island adventures.
Warm regards,

I enjoyed the experience of a personal touch. It was only myself and my husband. Adriana gave me the one on one attention needed to feel comfortable enough to do something that I've never done before. I'm coming back again and bring others but only if we could have Adriana again. I loved it.

Jeep tour and guide amazing
RZR ride, horrible. Machine was definitely beat to absolute death, suspension broken, clanged and banged the entire ride. Had to follow a guide, and we rode the same trail over and over for maybe 30 minutes and never went fast. Maybe 15 mph tops. Definitely not what I expected after paying 260.00 for 2 people.
Response from Host, Jun 2025
Hello Rob,
We’re truly sorry to hear that the RZR portion of your experience did not meet your expectations. We’d like to clarify a few important points to help provide context for future Travelers:
The Polaris RZR vehicles used on our tours are designed for rugged terrain — they are not soft-riding or comfort-focused vehicles. While they may feel rough compared to standard vehicles, their performance on off-road trails is what makes them ideal for this kind of adventure. Please rest assured that all our RZRs are regularly maintained, and their suspension systems are inspected closely. What may seem like damage is often a reflection of the natural feel and sound of this type of all-terrain vehicle on a dirt trail.
As this is a Guided Tour, it’s important to follow the Tour Guide for both safety and environmental protection. Our RZR experience is not designed to be a high-speed or self-guided activity, but rather an off-road circuit that showcases the island’s natural surroundings while ensuring the safety of all participants. The trail is a large circuit, and while some sections may appear familiar, the ride covers a continuous path, not a small track repeated multiple times.
That said, we truly regret that this part of the tour didn’t align with your expectations. While this feedback is not consistent with what we regularly receive from our Guests, we take all comments seriously and will continue evaluating every aspect of the experience to ensure quality and satisfaction.
We appreciate your positive remarks about the Jeep tour and your guide, and we hope you were still able to take away some enjoyable memories from your time in Cozumel.
Warm regards,
The Coco Adventours Cozumel Team

We enjoyed the visit to the East side of the island and the chocolate demonstration and the tequila tasting, but the tour fell from there. The Razor ride through the jungle didn’t happen because the wait for the machines was more than an hour long and that was too long to wait in the heat. There are no assigned times - just first come first serve. Lunch at Cocos Beach club was good but all you get is food - drinks are to be paid for, and there was NO snorkeling available at all. Fernando was a good guide but if you want to get out and see the island there are better ways.
Response from Host, Dec 2024
Dear Joe,
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback.
We’re glad to hear that you enjoyed exploring the east side of Cozumel, the chocolate demonstration, and the Tequila Tasting. However, we sincerely regret that other aspects of the tour did not meet your expectations.
Regarding the delay for the RZR portion, we apologize for the inconvenience. While our Team strives to manage operations efficiently, busier moments can sometimes create delays. Your feedback is extremely helpful, and we’ll take steps to improve coordination and reduce wait times moving forward.
We also understand your disappointment about the snorkeling not being available. Unforeseen sea conditions can occasionally impact this activity, and we apologize if this was not communicated more clearly in advance.
We’re pleased to hear Fernando provided great guidance throughout the day, as we strive to deliver memorable and insightful Tours with every experience.
As a gesture of goodwill, we’d love the opportunity to make it up to you on a future visit. Please feel free to contact us directly to reservations@cocoadventourscozumel.com so we can discuss options to enhance your next adventure in Cozumel.
Thank you again for your honest review. Your feedback is invaluable in helping us refine our experiences for future Guests.
Warm regards,
