Itinerary

Depart from a central Cozumel location and enjoy a short cruise to the dive site, where you board your authentic, US Coast Guard–certified submarine.

Climb down the ladder, take a seat by one of the large windows, and, after a short safety briefing, dive to the depths of the ocean—you’ll reach 100 feet (30 meters). You’ll explore Chankanaab Reef, part of an environmentally protected marine park that draws divers from around the world.

Cruise along the ocean bed to discover the reef’s diverse and dazzling marine life, appreciating the rare opportunity to venture where only experienced scuba divers have gone before. View the underwater wonderland as your informative guide directs your attention to parrotfish, grunts, groupers, and more.

Watch as your captain expertly navigates the submarine and capture your underwater moments on camera before your submarine returns to the surface. Then, return to the original departure point by boat, where your tour concludes.

Only 1 personal item like a purse or small handbag is allowed, and it must fit in your lap. Dimensions should not exceed 18 x 14 x 8 inches
Additionally, a 13 USD Marine Park fee must be paid by person.

This experience was incredible. I think like most people I was a little scared about going into a submarine. But the staff were just so kind and friendly, they made any fears go away. And this was truly a once in a lifetime experience to see the world below us, I would definitely recommend it.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ An Unforgettable Family Adventure!

Our family of six (4 adults and 2 children) had an absolutely incredible experience on the Atlantis Submarine Adventure in Cozumel! From start to finish, everything was first-class. The meeting location was easy to find, check-in was quick and organized, and the comfortable, air-conditioned waiting area made the beginning of our excursion relaxing. The introductory video was informative, engaging, and did an excellent job preparing everyone for the adventure ahead. The crew was outstanding! Every member of the staff was friendly, professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely committed to making sure everyone had a memorable experience. If you're worried about feeling claustrophobic, don't be. The submarine was much more spacious than we expected, fully air-conditioned, and very comfortable throughout the dive. The large viewing ports gave everyone an excellent view, and at no point did we feel confined. Descending to more than 110 feet below the surface was simply amazing. The underwater views of the coral reef and marine life were breathtaking. What made the trip even more special was the educational aspect. The narration throughout the dive was informative without being overwhelming, teaching us about the reef ecosystem, marine life, and the importance of conservation. Both the adults and the children found it fascinating, and it added tremendous value to an already incredible experience. The entire excursion exceeded our expectations and was even better than described. It was one of the highlights of our trip to Cozumel and created memories our family will cherish for years to come. We wholeheartedly recommend the Atlantis Submarine Adventure to anyone visiting Cozumel. Whether you're traveling as a couple, with friends, or as a family, this is a truly unique experience that is well worth every penny!

Deep Dive in Cozumel

Fantastic Excursion & Experience! This was our 2nd time doing the Atlantis Submarine in Cozumel, and 4th time overall with Atlantis, the other two were in Hawaii. We brought our Son, Daughter-in-law, and Grandson. We all loved it! What a wonderful way to see many aquatic creatures, and a few surprises. Also a great way to escape the heat. We saw a lemon shark which was really cool, an enormous lobster, and so many fish. I would not hesitate to do this excursion again.

Not for toddlers, but nice otherwise

Be aware that 4 is the minimum age. And the child needs to be somewhat confident and independent, because entry to the sub is tricky and could be scary. I didn't read the conditions carefully when booking, so we had to split our party so that a parent could stay behind with our 3 year old. OTHER THAN THAT it was a good experience. VERY well organized and friendly. Saw a gig variety of fish and a nice surprise at the end.

Very good experience right from the start to end. The crew is very knowledgeable and clear in providing instructions that are required. Even my 3 and half yr old(height needs to be more than 42inches) also enjoyed the ride. Wouldn't say that the corals are the best but overall experience is worth. Also the place is very close to the port and would take less than 10min from the port exit.

The sub tour was amazing. I was surprised to find out about the additional fee of $13 per person after we arrived at the office. They were very accommodating, and even got us on an earlier tour rather than making us wait for our assigned time. Would absolutely recommend!!!

Great Experience, But Watch for Hidden Fees

The experience itself was truly awesome! Our kids (8 and 4) absolutely loved it, and my husband and I had such a great time too. There really isn’t a bad seat on the submarine - everyone gets a great view, which made it even more special. That said, there were a couple of frustrating details. We booked through Viator, which stated everything was included, but we were still required to pay a “National Park Ticket Fee” upon arrival - $13 per person, which ended up being an unexpected $52. It would have been helpful to know that in advance. Also, we took a photo in front of the mermaid statue and never saw where those pictures were available for purchase, which was a little disappointing. Overall, it was a fantastic experience and definitely worth doing - just be aware of a few extra details ahead of time!

Ignore the Requested Arrival Time

Ignore the communications they send about arrival time. The listing said to arrive 30 minutes in advance. I got an email the day before our excursion asking us to arrive 40 minutes early. Not wanting to we late, we arrived 40 minutes early only to learn they don't even open until 15 minutes before our tour. So we just sat outside the locked building for an extra 25 minutes. Their excuse was that "many guests arrive late so they asks for 40 minutes early so they wouldn't be late." No apology for us having to wait around for 40 minutes with our kids. No nothing. I wouldn't travel with them again and regret not doing to submarine tour with another carrier at a different port. The tour itself was just ok. I wouldn't do it again at this location. I recommend sitting on the starboard side, it seemed like the view was more interesting on that side. Not because of the fish, but the coral formations themselves.

Since it is a submarine, seating was very tight. The experience itself was really good though. The photo memory book they offered is definitely overpriced but we went ahead and got one because we are a sucker for souvenirs. I would recommend. I'd love to do it again.

The experience itself was wonderful but Viator needs to update what piers are close by as opposed to those far away. When we talked with Viator about how far away it was to walk they said 7 minutes. We added what ship we were on just to clarify. It turned out to be almost an hour walk. We showed them the transcript and the Submarine place was very nice and comped a taxi back, no charge.
