What To Expect

Begin your all-inclusive adventure at Chankanaab Park with a morning entrance to make the most of your day, then take in the park attractions at your own pace. Visit the archaeological area and tropical garden, check out the sea lion show, enjoy a tequila tour and tasting on land.

Very easy to book. Great attention to detail by the company. Felipe meet us at the park entrance, showed us around, took us to get our snorkel equipment and showed us where the best snorkeling was. I had trouble with my mask. They switched it out twice (without making me feel like I was doing something wrong) and with no complaint on their part. Lunch was delicious. Everyone we interested with was wonderful. The park was a great place to spend a few hours.

Was advertised as having a buffet lunch, it was in fact a sit down with very small portion of bland food (we were left hungry afterwards). Also advertised as coming with two free drinks each, which we ordered (and confirmed which drinks were included free). After paying and leaving, we were approached nearby by a restaurant staff member who tried to get us to pay for the drinks, claiming he had accidentally served us drinks that were not included and that if we didn’t give him the money it would come out of his pay check. It was clearly a scam, we had confirmed that the drinks we ordered were included free. We have been to chankanaab in the past and had a great time, this time however left much to be desired. Will not be returning and wouldn’t recommends to anyone.

It was such a wonderful experience as first time snorkels for all of us. Our guide Philippe was amazing he made sure we all get the best experience of the reef as first time snorkels we got to see beautiful corals and fishes and sting ray too. Food was good too. Drinks were not that good. It’s like you get what you pay for. But while experience was amazing.

This was a fantastic experience!! We had chairs at the Waikiki Beach portion of the park. Our servers and waiters were amazing--friendly and always making sure we were taken care of. Drinks were great and the massage was amazing!!! I will for sure go back here next time I go to Cozumel.

DO NOT GO TO THIS PARK. We were treated like criminals because we got confused as to which restaurant we could eat at even though they all have the SAME food. We were then FORCED to pay $99 for 2 meals even though we paid for all inclusive and then they also charged us an extra $20 just to enter the park on top of what we paid for this excursion. It was not a pleasant experience. Staff was very rude and the food was disgusting. The cheese dip was basically water. The tequila was also so watered down that you could barely taste it.

Best part of this tour was snorkeling. The fish are bountiful and gorgeous. We’ve been visiting this park for years. It’s quite run down now. Don’t rush to see the sea lion show. There used to be several sea lions performing and we could take pictures at the end. We saw one sea lion and no pictures. We stayed on the left side of the park to snorkel and hang out so this review is based on that. We thought we were dining at the buffet like previous visits but this time, we were assigned the Crab restaurant; a very run down eatery with minimal meal. We were disappointed with this tour. Know what you’re booking at Chankanaab as there are several tours.

The area was nice for snorkeling, but the park experience was not enjoyable. It felt dirty and not well taken care of. Chairs fell apart when you sat on them! Drinks were also pretty bad with this experience. Would not do this again.

Daniel was an outstanding guide. Fish are right by the shore. The food included was amazing,the fish tacos were the catch of the day,seasoned fries were delicious. If you order a burger make sure to specify well done or medium rare.

Honestly there’s not much to the park. There’s a half-hour or so sea lion show which was neat and the tequila tasting was fun. Aside from that there’s a bunch of vendors trying to sell you the typical trinkets. They have a nice snorkel area. The “all-inclusive” option is simply a choice at a specific restaurant there to have a BASIC menu item and two basic drinks. Overall, not that great and the prices are significantly marked up on mixed drinks if you want anything else. $20 mixed drinks, etc… All in all if you can go to the mainland you’d have a MUCH better time going to xcaret or xplor, I wouldn’t do this again.

Relaxed day from Cruise trip. Came at around 9.30 here (hardly 10 min taxi). Spent around 5 hours here. Lunch was OK OK. Not so great. Snorkel experience was nice. Beach is very beautiful !! Recommended..

We actually had a pretty decent day activities wise and everyone was nice. Maybe too nice looking back. Went snorkeling (decided to do self lead) but they assigned us a waiter all day named Max Tun to take care of us. We did order off menu for a few drinks and snacks before we had our lunch that was included in our ticket price and we thought the world of him. Until this morning, when I was going over my credit card charges and saw that instead of the $66 US Dollar receipt he had me sign for extras he ACTUALLY scammed us and charged us a little over $271 US Dollars somehow and I have to figure out how tonight fix this myself now that I’m back in America. If I could give them zero stars I would. I’m disgusted.

Our support team had finalized our investigation in regards to your restaurant bill. We have gathered all information provided and we have the following: You had included the following meals as part of your lunch which you were given coupons for from our partner which were handed to Max the waiter and provided to our cashier- find image attached This lunch included was: 2 chicken Fajitas 1 Chicken quesadillas 1 Hamburguer which was validated by our restaurant manager and coupon was accepted for. Now here is the breakdown of your tab: 1-tab 1 Pinada $22usd 1 Mango Margarita $22usd 1 Mojito $22usd Total $66 usd 2-tab 1 coco loco $20usd 1 Mango Daiquiry $20usd 2 pinadas $40usd Total $80usd 3-tab 1 Guacamole $13usd 4- tab 1 pinada $22usd I pina colada $22usd Total $44usd 5- tab Chicken strips $17.50usd Putting all together makes a total of $220.50usd and you also gave a tip of $44usd as this was something you decided to give for the service provided. Making a total of $264.50usd for the whole additionals included your tip. Our fixed exchange is of $21 pesos per dollar, which is why your card was charged for $5554 pesos (find also image attached) We believe the only mistake Max the waiter did which he states he did advise was not showing every single item in your bill but everything was ordered and consumed by you and your guests. Please verify the information provided and we encourage to remember meals and drinks you had on this day as tour package only included one lunch per person as advertised. All alcohol and extras must be paid and are considered additionals and you alseo tipped $44usd for the service that the waiter provided. Please let us know your input, as everything on the service was on point and Max the waiter he never took any advantage of any customer which is why we are providing evidence. Package not worth it

We showed up to the park. We had to wait to be taken to where we checked in. So we booked other excursions. Then we were rushed to get where we need to pay the $10 per person fee. It was at the very end of the resort. The food is not a full menu. We had like 5 options we could choose from. Everything else was extra. The open bar was also limited. I would definitely recommend going to Chankanaab and snorkeling because the reef is GORGEOUS! I just would not get this package. They offer several packages when you buy the pass there.

We had bad weather, so we weren't able to get in the water, except when we swam with the dolphins and manatees. Viator can't control that; we were disappointed but that's out of the hands of everyone. And they did a good job of informing us ahead of time that some aspects of our package would be limited (such as any beach or snorkeling activities) That being said, when we booked with Viator, and arrived at the park, the park seems confused about what package we had purchased, how to scan our phones to gain access, and what food and drinks were part of our package. We were told we could eat from a restaurant called the "Crab" that was blue and all the way at the far edge of the park. When we asked someone else for directions to the restaurant, they gave me a confused look and said that didn't exist in the park. So we didn't get to eat anything. The rest of the part was really cool and everyone was very nice. Swimming with the dolphins was fun.

The customer service was great, had dedicated beach chairs with shade, waiter was very attentive, clean bathrooms and the snorkeling was phenomenal! The lunch was delicious, our group had fish tacos and chicken fajitas. They accomodated our youngest who is 5 and was super easy to get from cruise port to park ($30 one way for 6).

Loved the snorkling. The food was pretty good, but took over an hour after ordering. They only provided one free drink. Water was $4-$5 a bottle at all the places along the beach! Definitely bring your own. The food included was limited to nachos, fajitas, and burgers. The sea lion show was fun. The pics with the sea lion afterwards was not worth it as you couldn't take pics with your own camera, so you had to go to gift shop to pay for them. We also had to pay a $10 per person marine fee in addition to the $ for the excursion. It was also $15 per taxi (held 4 people total) so bring lots of cash!

Don't do 2 excursions at one time.
