Unique and amazing day!!

This was truly a unique and wonderful experience. Had two teenagers with us, but honestly could work with younger kids on a two person kayak. The mangrove forest was so unique and beautiful. Victor taught us all about the environment in this location as well as snapping a few amazing drone pictures of us. Having lunch with the fishermen in their village was such a treat as well. We would all recommend this experience a million times!!!!

Peaceful kayaking and a delicious meal

We had a great time on our tour of the Costa Maya mangroves. Highlights included learning how to properly harvest a coconut for its water and meat. After that, we went kayaking through the mangroves while a local family cooked a fresh fish and coconut rice meal using the coconut we prepared. The mangroves were very peaceful and serene, while the water was interestingly red due to the rainy season. Afterward, we returned to the beachhouse where the meal was being prepared and let the kids explore the beach. There was a surprising amount of seashells and coral scattered along the beach that the kids enjoyed discovering. After the beach, we had the freshly prepared fish meal, where we got to make tacos with the rice, pico, and delicious salsa. Our guide, Victor, was very friendly and knowledgeable. It is obvious that he has a passion for conservation and helping out his community. We really enjoyed our time and wish Victor the best.
