The lake was beautiful, the boat ride to the lake was nice. Our tour guide Joanna was great. The tacos served for lunch were really good, especially the pork ones. The water felt great!
Make sure you are clear on your meeting point. Taxi driver was very nice, the drive to and back from the meeting point is about an hr.

The guide and the driver were both very nice. Unfortunately, what’s not known until one gets o the van is that it’s almost 1 1/2 hours each direction to a lake that is not the color as depicted in the photos. It’s about an hour in the water and then time for some really under quality tacos. Then back on the van for the 1 1/2 hour ride back. This trip is a PASS.

Espectacular place wonderful water with the best tour guide ever Joana. She is the best so kindly and knows a lot of the history of Costa Maya. Highly recommend the tour to Seven Colors lagoon.

What an experience!!! Communication was excellent, we received emails, texts and responses to questions promptly. Ivan was our guide and he was awesome! He stayed with us the whole time, answered all questions and gave us great information on the area. The lagoon was absolutely stunning!!! And the food after was beyond expectation! I would 100% recommend this excursion to everyone

Worst excursion and contact information. To start off they sent an email stating we would be on island time when I was on a cruise ship with NO internet. There was no place on the original post that states it was on island time not ship time. Then once we were texted RUDELY we rushed to get to the meeting spot. Finally on the bus, we find out it’s 1.5 hr drive to the boat ride. We even had to stop for the bus drive to use the bathroom. Once we get to the boat place. We get on a party boat and told we have to wear life jackets the entire time. Supposed to be all you can drink, well you better bring your own glass because our host didn’t have glasses and tried to give us the boat drivers dirty glass to drink out of. They had very limited beer and only tequila. Nothing else. DEFINITELY NO MARGARITAS!! Then we did a 10 min tour of the 7 colors, which we were able to see all, we were allowed 40 minutes in the water to swim. Once back on the boat we were taken back to the island and given a great flavor lunch. After 20 mins to eat we were ushered back to the bus to head to the fort for pictures. We pull up to this place, not the fort, for everyone to take pics of a cenote. Once back on the bus we weee taken back to the port 1.5 hr drive again. You spent more time on the bus then anything else. Now while on the bus we thought we could get some kind of talking from the host about where we were and what was around us. NOPE he didn’t speak a word to us. No historical facts or even a joke. This is definitely an excursion I WILL NOT do again! Oh 2 stars bc the food was good.

The water is absolutely beautiful! Our guide was kind, but only gave us information while we were on the boat. We are used to our guide telling us about the country/city at least some while we are on the long van ride to the destination.
It was also really tough because they only had alcohol and soda on the boat, we really could have used some water.

The operator canceled the excursion due to low demand. No notice was given and we wasted an hour. We booked a private taxi instead which didn’t qualify as a tour since the driver spoke no English.

This particular excursion wasn't available when we went, but they gave us an upgraded tour at no extra charge. The tour included the ruins and bacalar and we loved it all! Jhoana was very attentive and knowledgeable! If we ever come back we will definitely book with her!

could not find where to meet up. A lot of walking and unfortunately did not make excursion. Had surgery 10 weeks ago and just started walking again after 6 months so it was a lot. Haven’t ever had a bad experience with Viator before but was in complete tears with my son because i was wanting to make it special for him. Make sure you clarify the meeting point.

This lagoon is beautiful, the water truly does transition to various different shades of blue and green at various points along the lagoon. Swimming in it was the best. It left my skin feeling so soft, fresh and clean

We had a bad experience. We were robbed 2.5 hours of our excursion, only got to see 1 out of the 7 color lagoons. We had to cut our swimming time short, eat on the boat and not at the designated lunch stop, and there were no tequila drinks at all! No other alcoholic beverages other than beer. So if you’re not a beer drinker, you had bottled water or homemade juices in recycled water bottles. We literally spend most of our time driving to and from the cruise port (3 hrs) and waiting an additional 2.5 hours because the boat got pulled over by authorities somewhere and because they didn’t have certain permits, they got a ticket and had to get said permits in order to start our excursion (which was only 1 hour long). And the worst part of it all is the guide wasn’t forthcoming and didn’t communicate this stuff until we asked what was the hold up. She didn’t even apologize at all for what happened. Nada! This isn’t the first time that I’ve booked via Viator, but because of this, I will be more hesitant to book excursions through them. This was so unnecessary especially for the amount of money this cost!

Israel did an amazing job taking care of us! He brought fruit on a platter to us in the water and had a great variety of drinks fit everyone. The food at the restaurant was the best food ever! Highly recommend this excursion! The water was gorgeous and the staff was amazing!

We had an amazing time on the lagoon. Charlie our guide was such a fun guide. He took great care of all of us, and got us back to the boat on time! Would definitely use this excursion company again. Top-notch service!

This was our first excursions ever because it was our first cruise. We were met at port and given clear directions of what our day would be like. Our driver took us into Bacalar about an hour away! There we met Jhoana our guide on the boat…amazing lady, ask for her when you book! She kept us laughing and brought drink and Tequila!!!
She knows the area well and gives a great history! The water was beyond beautiful. We experienced a small down they it should be experienced! The boat took us out for a couple of hours to to see all the beauty and learn about the fresh water lagoon! We stopped to swim and Jhoana even came into the water with us! She got lots of photos of our visit and emailed them to us! Nice touch!
When we got back to dock we had authentic cuisine in a little restaurant shack that was all outside!
I would recommend it…just don’t be surprised as this is being with the people of Bacalar not an commercialized excursion!

Although it was a long drive(a bit over 1 hour each way), so we only had 3 hours there, the lake Bacalar is amazing, it is worth the trip to see it’s clear waters and cenotes. We saw four cenotes in the lake, and then went to a small sandbar where we could swim for about an hour. Back to the resort, we had a good lunch (included). Great experience, my 6 year old grandson loved.

Charly was very friendly and provided a lot of education about the island. I only wish we had more time to swim in the lagoon. We waited over an hour for 3 other people in our tour who were late so it really cut into our day.

We signed up for a pontoon ride with food and drink. We got there on time but had to wait for another couple, who signed up for the ruins. Didn't want to do the ruins but the driver took us anyway and said we could stay in the car until the other couple was done. It took several hours to drive to the ruins, visit, then get to the pontoon boat. The driver stopped 1 time at a store on the side of the road and told us to go inside and get a beer. I don't drink beer! The pontoon ride was only 1 hour long then we went to a restaurant and was told we could have 4 tacos and a drink. The other couple wanted to try other foods and they were told they had to pay extra for those. The food was gross. Then we got back in the car and had to drive over an hour to get back to the port. They didn't drop us off near the port, so we had to run 4 blocks to get back to the cruise ship. We made it back with 15 minutes left before the all aboard. Never again will I use viator.!!!!!!!! We were told we had to do things we didn't want to do. We were late getting started and late getting back. Limited food and drink that was not good. Then when we got back late and had to run to get on the cruise, the leader of the excursion grabbed my husband and wanted to know if we were going to tip him.

Ecoexperience is the way to go! We were picked up right outside the terminal at the Costa Maya cruise port. The driver had drinks for us on this hot day. The Bacalar Lagoon of 7 colors is absolutely amazing. I have never seen water like this before. The boat ride was spectacular and we stopped to swim in two different locations within the lagoon. Then we were taken for a delicious Mexican lunch. Jhoana was great explaining everything along the way. And she took pictures with our phones for us. They ensured that we had plenty of time to get back to our ship. All was definitely well coordinated. I would 100% recommend this excursion!
