My wife and I had a great tour with Falke around Cologne, learning about the city as we made multiple stops to sample local dishes.
Falke gave us an interesting narrative of Cologne sights as well as the bars / restaurants we visited. And, he did a great job of answering all our questions.
The quantity of food Falke sourced for us was more than sufficient - we came away from the tour feeling pretty stuffed. And, we had a great tasting of the local Kolsch beer. The quality of our tastings was very good.
Meeting up was simple - the directions from the vendor were both clear and frequent, and it's easy to spot the guide. Suggestion: be sure to have access to WhatsApp on your phone so it's easy to message and call if necessary.
We had a great time, and feel confident recommend the tour to you as well.

Tour guide very friendly and knowledgeable. Food was authentic and very good. Would recommend finishing closer to the starting point but that is minor. Highly recommend this tour if in Cologne.

Falke and the Semi-Private Cologne Food & Kolsch Tasting Tour was awesome! It was great to talk to a local and receive insights of Cologne. Having a smaller tour group allowed us to ask random questions to understand the area, history and culture. Thanks for the recommendations, we’ll use them during our stay.

Vielen lieben Dank!

Our guide was fantastic—informative, friendly, and genuinely passionate about the city. They provided so much interesting information about Cologne’s rich history, vibrant culture, delicious local food, and of course, the famous Kolsch-style beer that originates right here in Cologne.
I learned so many fun facts I never would have known otherwise, and the way the guide explained everything made it engaging and easy to follow. Whether you’re a first-time visitor or someone who’s been to Cologne before, this tour is absolutely worth it. We left feeling like we truly understood the soul of the city.
If you’re visiting Cologne, do yourself a favor and book this tour. You won’t regret it!

Thank you very much for this wonderful review. We will pass the kind words on to Falke!

Well there was a great deal of talking and not a lot of food. I did appreciate the history and stories about the city but the food was sparse. We received the equivalent of two appetizers, a bowl of soup, half of a sandwich and a dessert during the 3 1/2 hour tour. The sites were beautiful and the tour guide was very kind but for nearly $200 per person, I expected way more food and I’ve been on several food tours so I didn’t get what I expected for the price! This was the first food tour I’ve ever been on where I went to go eat afterwards because I was still hungry.

This was a fun small group tour (6 of us) to some off the beaten path restaurants/cafes/kiosks with a very personable tour guide Falke. I traveled with my daughter who has lived in Cologne for 8 yrs and has never been to the places that we went to, and she learned some new things.
The food and beer was very good, although I would suggest to the tour guide that each person have their own individual plates, even if it’s a smaller portion. And it wasn’t appropriate or safe to share a bowl of goulash with a stranger.
Overall, I would recommend. Thanks!
Response from Host, Dec 2025
Thank you so much for joining us! We're happy to read both you and your daughter enjoyed the tour. And thank you for your constructive feedback, we will take this into account.

It was great getting a feel for Cologne through a local’s eyes. Loved trying all the different foods and beverages, especially the cake!

Awesome food and beer tour! We enjoyed all the different types of food and the beer was perfect. Faulk was very easy to talk with and very knowledgeable on the history.

YEEVON_L, Nov 2025
The tour was pretty lovely. It consists mostly on famous and very traditional local food that are seldom mentioned among tourists, in which gave us an opportunity to learn more about local traditions and at the same time explore a diverse selection of food. Overall I'd say it was a very eye-opening experience for tourists to get to know more on the history of Cologne and its food.
The only thing I’d suggest is to clarify that the tram ride is optional and depends on the situation. Since the tour itinerary mentioned that admission tickets were included, it could give visitors like us the impression that the tram experience was confirmed and paid for, when it is not. Aside from that, everything else was smooth and enjoyable with tour guide Falke.
Response from Host, Nov 2025
Thank you very much for your 5-star review! And also for the feedback, as this will definitely help us to improve. All the best from the Fork & Walk team.
