Sascha was a great guide. He explained everything well and was fun and interactive with us. He pointed out the little things that made the tour interesting and I learned a lot about the history of Cologne. We even got to stop at a quaint coffee shop along the way. Would recommend this tour.

I booked a guide for English. He spent most of the time talking in German as some people booked an English one but couldn’t understand English. It was a shame as Cologne has so much History and I would like to have known more about it that ‘one liners!’

After consulting with Ralph, our guide for this tour, he took care to explain everything in detail, of course in English and partly in German as well. As far as he could further tell, everyone part of that tour expressed their honest gratitude after that tour for a successful and very engaging tour, that's also why there are very good reviews also for that specific tour that day. Normally, of course, everything is described and explained in great detail; there were technical issues with the bookings, and some people accidentally booked the English tour....

My friend and I had a group tour booked for 2pm. About one hour and a half before we received a text message from Sascha that our tour time was bumped up two hours to 12pm due to the illness of our tour guide. I only saw the text message 1 hour before the start time. My friend and I quickly got ready without a chance to eat anything due to the short notice. We were about 5 minutes late and the tour guide left the meeting spot. He did not reach out to check to see if we were coming. We luckily ran into the group shortly after they left. This is where things got really bad. I asked him if he was the tour guide we were supposed to meet. He answered would you like the join the tour? I wanted to clarify it was the right tour so I asked is this the 2pm tour that started at 12 instead. I asked a simple question because his response confused me and I also looked a bit angry because he in fact left before we got there. He then proceeded to verbally abuse my friend and I in front of the whole group. He asked why are you angry. He then also directed this to my friend that did not say one word to him as I was the one asking questions. My friend and I were quietly discussing what occurred, the tour guide then decided to continue verbally calling us out in front of the entire group stating he could have canceled and we would have gotten a refund. The text that we got did not state this. He then stated I am angry and I need a moment. I asked him why is he continuing to single us out in front of the whole group while my friend and I were having a private conversation. The group then pointed to my friend and I that we were disrupting the tour when it was the other way around because the tour guide chose to keep calling us out. At this point I felt that I needed to mentioned that we just got short notice I asked the group what time their tour was they stated 12pm. I felt the need to let them know that we were supposed to have out tour at 2pm. The guide then stated that we got one hour and a half notice. At this point I wanted to leave the verbal abuse that turned the group against us was far enough. We did stay at the end of this all because we really wanted to see the city and learn its history. Through out the tour the guide made a lot of sex jokes and made fake accents of different cultures which was very rude and disrespectful. I think this tour had great information but the guide we had made the experience not worth the tour. I would give this tour 0 stars if I could.

The reviewer's own disrespectful and groundless aggressive public behavior is reversed and projected onto the tour guide with baseless accusations. The relatively large group was so irritated and shocked by the reviewers' verbal attacks here that some actually felt compelled to stop the highly aggressive and inappropriate behavior of the reviewers appearing here, to put a stop to it, after the reviewers here had incessantly attacked the guide in front of the entire group, who had been extremely satisfied with the guide until this rude interruption by the reviewers here! The guide did not make any inappropriate comments or engage in any other disrespectful behavior. This is a case of deliberate reversal of guilt. Rather, the group was deeply shocked by the behavior of the reviewers here and felt sorry for the guide, who was confronted with such excessive misconduct by the reviewers in public. It shows particular narcissistic audacity on the part of the reviewers in this case to then write such a “review” and engage in false accusations, labeling, framing, and reprehensible, abysmal cancel culture maneuvers. The other participants had a lot of fun on the tour, except for the inconsiderate interruption by the reviewers of this tour here with this defamatory “review.” Self-reflection would have been necessary here! Obviously for this reviewer self-reflection and understanding is needed for the reviewer to learn also. The guide is a highly qualified expert who has compiled information that is recognized and praised even here. The allegedly sexist jokes and dialects were never made or even disrespectfully conveyed; here, something completely wrong has been constructed contextually, either deliberately or perhaps out of intellectual incomprehension, which ultimately lacks any objective basis. When e.g. old folk tales, Roman mosaics, historical sagas, etc. are explained or interpreted contextual in a historical context, this has absolutely nothing to do with disrespectful statements, but serves to explain the context of the views of the time, which can be proven on site, e.g., through illustrations or inscriptions! Of course that doesn't correspond with our current view, but censorship certainly doesn't help understanding either, although it has nothing to do with the guide's personal opinion. To deliberately interpret it that way would be either malicious or grossly negligent, but in any case completely inappropriate in terms of facts. Everyone else in the large group understood this, except for the reviewers of this “review.”
Of course, this can also include humorous elements in some places for didactic purposes, which is logical!

Getting soaked in the rich history of Koln was incredible. Walking in the snow was a new experience, couldn't complain. Sascha the tour guide was witty and had a great sense of humour. I thoroughly enjoyed.

It’s good to learn the history of the place you visit. Sascha was quite knowledgeable and he even recommended places to go for F&B.
What I like most was that it was a small group, no difficulties in hearing the guide speaking.

Tour start is easy to find and there is a lot about the cathedral and surrounding area that you wouldn’t know or see without the tour. Tour guide was great and the tour is very worth it!

It was raining and cold to start. Not the tour guides fault. Maybe he could have pulled to a covering once in a while to talk to us about what we were going to see then go to the spot. Also a lot what we were shown were small pictures on the wall. It was supposed to be 2 hours it was maybe 1:30. The pick up location was not clear and when texting to get help no one responded. I wouldn’t recommend this for the price.

This so-called review appears partly even as a distortion of reality; it's partly like being in a parallel universe, an imposition. It has not much to do with reality. Guests are even informed in advance in great detail in writing as an additional service via WhatsApp messages with pictures or via text message! Provided they have given a cell phone number and can be reached and the pictures can be sent. Of course, you should also read the messages when you receive them. Later, during a tour, the guide can't write to you live or call you, of course, that should be clear, because he has to take care of the tour guests. A lot is also shown on site at the buildings and statues and much more during the tour, not just a few small pictures, of course. What kind of twisted fairy tale is this supposed to be? This review is almost rude and insults the great service and excellent work of the guide, as countless reviews prove. If you find it too cold in Germany in winter, you just need to dress warmly, with warm socks, shoes, and a jacket, plus a hat and scarf, and maybe gloves. Please read the local weather forecast. The guide really can't do anything about that. The tour usually lasts about 2 hours, unless the weather includes heavy rain and wind, in which case it may be necessary to act exceptionally depending on the situation.

I just wasn’t blown away by this tour. Sasha seemed to know a lot even though he wasn’t German but his sense of humor wasn’t for me. He liked to spell things out for example he’d be like 1860 that’s 1-8-6-0…. Over and over for 2 hours he did that. Perhaps to make sure there wasn’t a language barrier but we found it annoying. Overall it was a way to kill 2 hours in cologne but it’s not the best tour I’ve ever taken. I also messaged the tour company asking to be moved to an earlier tour because we got to cologne earlier than we were expecting and they couldn’t bother to even respond back

A person who simply spreads false information here, such as the guide would not have been German, wants to get upset that annual data was sometimes repeated significantly, can hardly be an expert on healthy humor. First of all Sascha (not Sasha!) is definitely German! Not every German got the stereotyping name Fritz, Hans or Günther for example. How could you know he's not German btw, why such false claims here ? Second point, he's simply extremely fluent in English so that you even probably thought his original language would have been English even. How many languages does the author of that review may speak? Third point is that the data like 1870 (not 1860 in that case, prooves you weren’t even listening carefuly) 1-8-7-0 was spelled out as just some wanted to know once more the exact date. And yes, he definitely knows a lot, that is definitely the case. You are simply making false claims, such as that Sascha (not Sasha) is not German, which is presumptuous. You maybe didn't even listen properly during the tour and are mocking him for clearly repeating the dates, which is actually pathetic. I just feel sorry for the reviewer for making life maybe more difficult for yourselves and probably others as needed as well as making false claims and then publishing them even. Therefore ignorance, false claims, incorrect assumptions, and lack of knowledge seem to be possible attributes of this reviewer! Tour guests receive helpful information about the tour directly on their cell phones when it becomes available. The guests were informed, but perhaps this guest just did not see that or maybe just overlooked it.
