Perfect for those who want to squeeze a lot in, with minimal mental effort and maximum enjoyment. Our guide Ji was extremely knowledgeable, kind and helpful. Great suggestions for authentic, delicious and affordable lunch. Went the extra mile ny dropping us off at a different location, perfect advice for evening meal and activity and extremely kindly returned an item we’d left in his car! Could not ask for more! Pandas were lovely and the giant Buddha was very impressive.

Great day with the Pandas

Great day with Ji to see the pandas and then the Leshan Buddha. Ji was great at helping navigate the Panda reserve to make sure we saw a LOT of pandas and babies. Leshan Buddha was cool but it is a bit of a ride to get there so just be aware you will be in the car quite a bit! But if you are interested in Buddhism, it’s a pretty unique experience to see the giant figure carved into the wall

A highlight of China

Ji was in contact immediately after we booked and kept us informed of travel arrangements. We were met on time at the correct place and were transported around in a comfortable and spotlessly clean vehicle. Ji was engaging and always made sure we got the best vantage points. We got to see numerous pandas being active and the big Buddha. Our trip included lunch, which became an informal food tour. Food was exceptionally good at a local restaurant in Leshan. We found Ji very helpful and engaging and we really enjoyed the day. A highlight of our China trip so far. Highly recommended.

Panda and Leshan Buddha tour

We took a tour to visit the pandas and a Leshan Buddha. Our tour guide Ji, was very professional, prompt and patiently answered all the questions my wife asked. I love taking photographs and never felt rushed while I waited for the perfect moment. Ji was very flexible and we spent more or less time at attractions we liked or disliked.

Definitely the tour to do and worth every penny

This was a fabulous private tour of the Chengdu Panda research base and the Leshan big Buddha. Lui Ji was our guide, spoke excellent English and was very mindful of our group that included my elderly parents. He highlighted the best places to stand to get the best pictures and is an experienced panda spotter, which is particularly useful when there are crowds. The tour package explains what's included and yes, you can get group tours for cheaper but the aspects that you'll benefit from this are invaluable. Seeing the pandas requires an early start and the morning pickup is your group alone. No need for time spent going to multiple hotels before setting off to the panda base. It's a long day and the 7:30am pick up means you all get to fuel up at breakfast before setting off. Timing is important because too early, the pandas are being fed and you won't see much; just after breakfast, they're at their most active so opportunities for fab panda videos (we got loads). Lui Ji is your personal guide answering questions and providing you relevant facts. He can amend the tour to suit your interests. Lunch was at a local restaurant in Leshan with a variety of authentic local dishes to keep us going... tasty! Note... this is a long day and the comfortable air conditioned vehicle was appreciated in getting us around,nipping past all the large coaches and again delivering us back to our hotel directly. If getting a good tour to see the best of Chengdu is important, then this is the one to opt for. You might question why bother with Leshan big Buddha as well but it's a UNESCO heritage site and how often are we in Chengdu; make your visit worth it! Many thanks Lui Ji for making this tour as wonderful for my parents as well as myself. He amended the Leshan Buddha hike to a boat cruise as he spotted them flagging . 🤣❤️

Seeing such a large number of these great animals so close is a very special experience and underlines the impressive work that is done at the facility. The Buddha's visit (by boat) is spectacular and also impressive. 1000 Thanks to our guide Cindy and her driver.
