Didn't expect a run-down of favorite restaurants and factoids about chefs, nor so much personal info about the driver and family, jobs, kids and family heritage and accents. The gentleman driver was a very nice guy, very engaging and at times very funny... talked non-stop the entire drive... but so much passed by with little stories or facts here and there; left without clear understanding of the City and its historical highlights and transitions. Just not what we expected from a guided tour in such a historical city. A 'no' recommendation based in our expectation alone.

The tour is excellent and convenient. Our tour guide, Nick, was a sixth-generation Charlestonian. His knowledge of the city was extensive and helpful in orienting us to what we were looking at. He was also funny. After our tour we were well prepared for the remainder of our vacation in the city to go and explore.

This Pineapple tour was the highlight of our stay in Charleston. We scheduled it for the morning of our first full day in town, and it helped set the stage for the rest of our visit. Our driver, Neal, was exceptionally personable and informative. His non-stop narration and answers to our questions included facts and stories about the town’s history, customs, climate, architecture, politics, food, flora, and fauna. Very comprehensive without a dull moment. His comments regarding which restaurants deserved our consideration were also immensely helpful.
The small airconditioned bus was also a plus. Charleston was hot and humid with intermittent rain during our early October visit. It was impossible to go outside without working up a sweat. I doubt those tourists on horse drawn carriages enjoyed their experience as much as we did.

Great local storytelling from Neal. The bus had very comfortable seats and air conditioning. For parents -- we took our 10-month-old and were given the option of bringing a car seat or carrying her in our lap. Neal was also able to stow away our stroller, which was very helpful.

One star is too many. They cancelled the tour less than 24 hours before it was scheduled, offered options we couldn't make, and never a "sorry". It was more like "too bad for you". They never mentioned. refund. They were scrupulous in getting paid before the tour but couldn't bother to delivery the service. Viator should drop them from their tour package.

First our apologies for this experience. You contacted via text the day before and we called you multiple times that day to let you know the tour was canceled. Clearly you never spoke to any of our staff. If you spoke to the Charleston visitor center staff they would have no way of A: refunding you B: altering your reservation. You were FULLY refunded that day and at present you still never contacted our office to alert us of this issue.
Additionally, as of thousands of small business owners that partner with Viatour/ TripAdvisor we treat all of our mutual clients with dignity and respect. In Charleston we pride ourselves on hospitality and service. If you never contact us or dont respond to our calls or text, how could we make it right?
