Hugo was the best! This was my first ever surfing experience and his attentive instruction had me surfing my first wave very quickly. He gave helpful feedback after each wave and his positive attitude and love of surfing was very refreshing. Definitely recommend!

It was amazing! The head coach Hugo really worked hard and really made sure that my daughter was connected with the ocean. She liked it so much she said she wanted to go again the day after!

Great experience! I loved my class with Hugo. As an absolute beginner he made me feel completely at ease, and I really appreciated the patience, enthusiasm and positivity of him and his team. They make sure you learn and enjoy yourself at the same time. Highly recommended! If you’re thinking about it: don’t hesitate!

If you’re even considering, just do it! I had a great time and learned so much in that short lesson. The instructor (Hugo) was super encouraging, he not only made sure I could surf on Day 1, he shared some cool resources to continue learning about the sport and surf culture. It was so much fun. Do it do it. You can do it.

Best surf lesson I’ve ever had

I’ve had a few surf lessons before but none of them have been as good as this. Hugo is the best teacher, his passion for surfing is infectious and he gives very clear instructions for improvement. Ohana is a social enterprise and the money from these lessons goes to help teach local kids how to surf too. After the lesson he provided tips on how to improve further, some surf documentataries and literature and some photos he took of our session The whole experience was so fun that I am going to make sure to get another lesson in before my trip is over. I can’t recommend this enough

I am not sure there are words to describe just how much we enjoyed our surfing lesson! Neither of us had ever surfed, but the kindness, patience and grace of our instructor had us riding waves after the first or second attempt. It was INCREDIBLE! I speak for both of us when I say it was one of the highlights of our entire trip to Cartagena. Without hesitation I would book another lesson and encourage anyone considering to do the same. You will not regret it -- perfect place and instructor to learn. Our sincerest thanks for such an amazing couple of hours!

Dear Alissa, Thanks for your comments. It was a pleasure having you at OHANA SURF EXPERIENCE and introducing you into surfing for your first time. We were informed by HUGO, our HEAD COACH, that you did a great job standing on the longboard and tons of fun riding some waves. Also, that he gave you breaks in between waves for you to catch back your breath and focus better on the techniques that you were being taught. Coach Hugo explained that he didn't put you on a smaller surfboard (8 foot midsize) because to move onto a shorter board, you do need to be able to handle a longboard with more confidence. Longboards give more stability. And that and the end of the lesson, although the 90 minutes were over, our HEAD COACH did offer you to ride some extra waves, but you decided to call it up since you were feeling a bit tired. We would like to have you surfing back with us, at no cost for you, since your absolute satisfaction is our main priority.
