Having the early morning private tour was amazing. It gave us all the time we wanted in the mud and we were the only ones there. This experience exceeded our expectations. Transportation was comfortable, the company takes care of your tips to the workers, so you don’t have to worry about anything. The tour company kept in contact and was responsive to any questions. Highly recommend spending the extra for a private and going early.

Had some funny moments with our driver and the translation app on my phone. Traffic was crazy to watch as we zipped through the city. The volcano is more or less a giant mound of dirt with a hole in the top. Great views though. Our driver was fantastic about making sure we left everything important in the vehicle and locking it all in. Our "guild" for the experience was friendly enough, he seemed to think he deserved more and was rather pushy about saying how "good" he was to deserve more (our tips were included in the price of the excursion, and anything extra was an added bonus for them, would have been willing to give more to the mud massage people since they did something but this individual just seemed full of himself. Didn't even manage to get fully back to the vehicle before he was at our driver with his hand out). Once we changed and left, our driver asked and pulled over to this roadside type stand, helped us determine which was safe with our food allergies to eat. Overall, it was an interesting experience and once in a lifetime excursion , our driver took all the stress out of it, between the pushy taxi drivers selling you rides as soon as you get out of the port doors to the pushy "guild " and insane city drivers weaving in and out of everywhere

This is a must do when in Cartagena and if you can afford the private tour, do it. I arrived solo at 7am and had personalized experience one on one and was able to stay in the volcano for 20min, had a wonderful massage and then got washed off. Being a solo female traveller I felt safe. This is a one of a kind experience and ai highly recommend. Watching the sunrise was a bonus.

The driver was good and on time.
The setting was in a beautiful area. Very shanty town. All bit quick as you almost get a bit mobbed & strip when you get out of the car straight away. And get quickly ushered around.
Experience was so different but was great we really enjoyed it.
The end could have been better as even we'd tipped. They kept swarming for more. That was the only down side.

Everything was great. Definitely glad I did it! A unique experience for sure! Our guide and the local staff were fantastic. We did a late afternoon trip and it was not at all crowded. Definitely fun with my spouse, would be fun with a group of friends too!

Incredible experience I would say go as early as you can to beat the crowds. We were the first ones there and we had the entire experience to ourselves. Everything went off without a hitch. Everybody we came in contact with was friendly and accommodating.

This was a very unique experience. We enjoyed it but I think it is important to understand what you are getting into. We opted to go very early (6am) at the recommendation of the tour organizer. This was great advice since we really did have a private experience. I honestly think it would have been significantly less enjoyable if we had to deal with crowds or a large group in the mud at once. The climb to the top was quite manageable and their were locals their to help us with everything from getting in the volcano to bathing in the river afterwards. They even massage you while in the mud. It was great that this tour handles tips (the driver takes care of it) but we brought some extra tip money (a little bit goes a long way and is very appreciated). The mud itself was different than anything we have ever experienced. It is hard to describe so I will leave it at this.... If you are at all curious, definitely do not miss this experience. If you can afford a little extra to do it privately, do it. Go with an open mind. I can 100% recommend this tour company because everything was handled seamlessly, communication was great and we knew what to expect in advance.

This tour was absolutely incredible from start to finish! Our guide, Omar, was friendly, knowledgeable, and made the whole experience feel fun and seamless. The ride from Cartagena was comfortable, and Omar shared great background information about the region and the history of the mud volcano along the way.
The volcano itself was such a unique and surreal experience—floating effortlessly in warm, silky mud is something I will never forget! The local helpers made everything easy, and the entire atmosphere was relaxed and enjoyable. After rinsing off in the nearby lagoon, we were treated to delicious fresh coconut juice, which was the perfect refreshing touch.

What an amazing adventure! We got there first thing in the morning, and that was the best choice ever, as my group of 9 had the whole place to ourselves. This was perfect because the actual mud area is quite small with a bunch of strangers after probably waiting a long time if you go later. Thus, go early, enjoy the feeling, and tip everyone! Shoutout to our driver who navigated some nonsense on the way and back on the road. All in all, it was great, and this specific tour option fit our group perfectly. Also, it was a nice touch to chat with the CEO via WhatsApp, and he was very responsive when we had a minor misunderstanding.

You have to walk up quite a bit of stairs to get up to the volcano. You also do get naked after in the ocean so they can clean your shoes and swimsuits throughly. I had so much fun and I would do this tour again.

The day started off a little late our driver picked us up at 640am which was fine. Our driver, Omar let us know it will be an hour drive, he was very informative and explained what was expected during this experience.
Once we got out the car we went straight into the volcano. Now the walk up them steps was a real workout, I wore water-shoes because I didnt want to slip on the mud even tho it was already dry. We couldn’t go into the mud with our shoes (which sucked) because once it was time to get out it was very slippery and hard to climb out of. The massage was a little intense for me and I say that because I left there and that same night I was in pain, my shoulders were very tender to touch and they swoll up. The person that massaged me dug too deep into my shoulders, I had to rub Bengay and Icyhot all over to ease the pain but even doing that hurt. After 2 days, the swelling went down, I could wear clothing without wincing in pain. Overall, it was a great experience, the photographer took some great pics, capturing memorable moments.

It is a once in lifetime experience. It is best to choose to be picked up at 6:30am. This allows you to have more of a VIP experience where you can take your time and have the place practically to yourself. It was just me and my adult daughter and another couple the entire time we were there. You get immersed in a “pool” of mud that is so refreshing and soothing. They give you a full body massage. Even though they are men that massage you, they are very respectful. You have to think of it as a mud mask for your whole body and once you get down from the stairs go straight into floating mode. That helps to soothe you into the experience much easier. They take pics for you with your phone so that you can enjoy the experience. Then you walk down the stairs all full of mud and walk over to an actual lagoon and the women there help wash off all of the mud. You go in deeper take off your bathing suit and they help wash off the mud from your suit and body and hair. Then you dry yourself and can change in their small rustic bathroom. They offer you a cold beverage of your choice. In the cost of the trip the driver picks you up and brings you back. It’s approximately a 50min drive to the mud volcano. It’s a great drive. Our driver Omar was amazing. Also included are the tips for the workers at the volcano. They will send you a recording ahead of time explaining that. You can tip more of course if you’d like.

This experience was just as everyone described and went smoothly. I was contacted the day before with specific instructions, picked up on time the morning of, and Andres (our English speaking translator) did an amazing job of explaining things to us. Very unique experience and we were back in our hotel at 9:45 to catch the tail end of breakfast and have the rest of the day to explore and relax.
It was worth getting up early to have this experience to ourselves as the tour busses were arriving when we left.

Our driver was on-site and ready for your group. When we reached out with a COURTESY question about the option of using two cars instead of one van, we were simply trying to accommodate a last-minute logistical challenge. The moment we sensed hesitation, we IMMEDIATELY REASSIGNED A FULL-SIZED VAN to ensure your group had exactly what was promised.
To suggest you were “put on edge” or uncomfortable is INACCURATE AND MISLEADING. You were NEVER TOLD your group would be split — you were ASKED if that would be acceptable. When you clearly declined, we honored that WITHOUT DELAY.
You then CHOSE NOT TO SHOW UP, gave no notice, and still left a 1-star review based on a tour you NEVER EXPERIENCED. That decision not only wasted our team’s time and resources — it also DENIED ANOTHER GUEST THE OPPORTUNITY TO BOOK.
Leaving a damaging review under these circumstances is UNFAIR, UNPROFESSIONAL, AND DISRESPECTFUL.

We were picked up for the volcano experience at 6:20am and it was the PERFECT time to go. We had the volcano all to ourselves for a half hour.
My friend has a disability but still wanted to try this experience despite her trouble going up stairs & the staff members were very accommodating, assisting her on the steps and letting her sit on a chair to bathe. The women were very professional as they bathed us & made sure to get almost all of it off us. The staff patiently waited for us to tip them at the end and were appreciative of what was given.
On the way back, we asked our driver to stop so we could buy a bottle of water and when we didn’t have exact change, he offered some of his own money to help us out. That was so sweet! We definitely tipped him well to express our gratitude.
Between the kind driver, the volcano staff, the more private experience… everything was perfect.
Additionally, the owner of the company personally reached out to me to offer assistance & general Cartagena advice. It felt like I had a friend looking out for me. I highly recommend this experience and the company itself.

We had a great time. Tour provider was proactive in reaching out beforehand to suggest an earlier time - and well, we had the volcano to ourselves. We tipped the tour guide and driver ~20%, as it was Christmas Eve and they provided good service. One thing that wasn't clear to us beforehand (and I didn't bother to check, so it's probably on me) was that tips for staff at the volcano and a drink are included. However, as staff were waiting around at the end of the trip, I would have liked to know if we were supposed to tip an additional percentage beyond what our guide provided. We are solidly in the camp of wanting to tip (or just have the prices raised for us, with tips built into the cost) and wanting to know what is appropriate for people who are working.

This was an amazing experience! Andres was incredibly helpful and makes every excursion stress free! I’d recommend this trip and Andres to anyone that can climb stairs. I know exactly who I’ll book with the next time I come back too!

Absolutely an amazing experience. It was definitely worth it! John was a great tour guide. We got picked up at our hotel @6:30am and got to the volcano by 7:15/7:30. It was worth getting up early. We had the volcano to ourselves for about 35 mins. We didn’t have to wait on a line or feel that our experience was rushed. Please book with them, it was worth it!
