Itinerary

After hotel pickup, set off on your enriching exploration of the UNESCO World Heritage–listed city in a comfortable, air-conditioned minivan. Begin your tour of the historically significant city in El Cerro de la Popa and its antique monastery near by. See the architecture of the Republican houses and Cartagena’s Moorish style, dating back to the early twentieth century.

Afterward, visit the Castillo de San Felipe de Barajas, one of the largest Spanish military architectural structures in the country.

Take a break for lunch (if option is selected) at Plaza Fernández de Madrid, and after eating, follow your guide through the Historic Center where you will visit Torre del Reloj at Plaza de la Aduana, the place used for slave trade during the Colonial period.

During your last stop you will enjoy a delicious Colombian coffee tasting.

This tour is a perfect introduction to Cartagena. Our guide answered many questions eagerly, and even showed us where to buy the shirt he was wearing. It was longer than four hours, and since we had a big breakfast, we didn’t care that there was no stopping for lunch as the tour described.

A very nice tour. I got to see many of the major tourist sites and got a good feel for the different areas/neighborhoods of Cartagena. My guide was very informative about the architecture, history and art. We saw a lot in 6 hours. A good introduction to this cool city.

My husband and I had William as our tour guide. William has good english and is great at giving the background to the city. Touring with him felt like the Mayor of Cartagena. Everyone knew him and he even helped negotiate for us when they were trying to over charge us for souveinirs. He is defientely a trip. Highly recommend the tour!

The tour could have ended a little sooner than the 6 hours provided on Viator. There were a few unnecessary parts to the tour, such as the drive to the North area of Cartagena and a long walk through the Historic Town could be cut in half. Other than that, it is good tour to see the city.

Eduardo was very pleasant and accommodating. He provided us with water and got us lemonades at the plaza. My sister and I opted to skip lunch and we still got a 6 hour tour. Eduardo manuvered us around the large cruise ship tour groups. I learned a lot from this tour.
