This was an amazing experience we got to see the Tulum Ruins. Make sure to bring a hat, umbrella, fan. It gets hot. We went to two Cenotes that were beautiful. We also went to Playa del Carmen. You can eat and shop. Our tour guide Carlos is the best. He is of Mayan origin and knows the culture well. He is funny and friendly. Highly recommended this experience.

It was a very long day. Tulum was good but the lunch stop, Cenote and Playa del Carman were a little disappointing.

Great experience, if this was all I did the whole trip I would be content. We actually learned alot about Mayans, the culture, and the development of the cities. The tour guys were awesome Stich & Moo. Food was great, and the tour was very well planned.
Cenotes were great!
Lynne_W, Feb 2026
Very well organized. The tour guides gave great explanations in both English and Spanish. They were also quite entertaining and funny

This is for history lovers. I learned s lot about the Mayan history and culture. Moo wss so knowledgeable. It was very interesting..
The Cenotes are a natural wonder. The visit there is short but good you see.
5th Avenue in Tulum is for the tourist lover.

Tour guide never showed up. Had a hard time getting ahold of tour guide. Used chat on Viator app to try to communicate, never received a response. When hotel staff finally helped us get a hold of the tour guide, the tour guide said “we waited for you and you never showed up.” Without even attempting to call to see where we’re at.

Enjoyed the tour guides and Learned a lot! A relaxing day trip with various well-balanced activities.

The tour operator changed our pick up location the night before our tour. I called customer service to cancel the tour because booking confirmation states point of pick up is Amara beachfront condo.

They didnt inform us the day before abouth the time exactly for pick up. We were 4 girls. One enter to the mini van and the others waa coming the driver didnt wait. We spend more 100 usd with a taxi to go there just because our friend waa there whitouth speaking the language. The tour was fine, suzana and Fredie are very good and the places are very beautiful. The food is horrible we couldnt eat that was very bad

Beware when booking this tour because it is not a complete description. There is a stop to Playa del Carmen on the way back to the hotels for about an hour and a half that isn’t listed on the description and you’re stuck doing it because this is a shared tour. Although we enjoyed out visit to playa del Carmen we have to note that it was annoying finding out when we were already on the bus and were no expecting such a long day. They were also late in picking us up with no communication or warning. I also had to reach out to them the day before because we hadn’t received the details 48 hrs prior as stated on the details. The buffet is an additional $19 USD per person and drinks are also an extra charge.

great experience and i highly recommend. the guide was very friendly and informative and did a great job splitting his presentation between english and spanish. Tulum was fantastic and so was the cenotes

This was well organized. Through Ekinox Tours. The tour guide was Luis Estraya. We were picked up at the meeting point ((Smart Oasis on Tulum). The shuttle picked us up at 8:45 AM, it was scheduled for 8:10. This is fine.
We got to the bigger bus that was waiting for us. Seating was scramble seating, my wife and I managed to sit together but it was on the row of 5 seats in the back. Fortunately, all of the other people sitting in the back were in good shape, so we each had enough room. I wish it could have been assigned seats though. The bus was full with about 29 people. The bus had AC, but no washroom. Luis made sure we all did washroom breaks for each stop.
Our first stop was Tulum. We only spent 2 hours there. One hour with the guide, 30 minutes of our free time, and 20 minutes to get back to the meeting point. We just wish we spent more time there, as the cenote was nice, but not the reason we went.
We spent about 3 hours at the cenote for swim and lunch. . I brought my own lunch, but my wife paid the extra 18usd for the buffet.
The time at playa del Carmen was 2 hours. My wife and I just walked down to the beach because we didn’t need to do any shopping.
The tour guide gave the tour in English and Spanish. He kept the time well and answered all our questions.

Overall experience is good. Very comfortable ride, and excellent guide. However there is room for improvement-ride pickup takes too long and waiting for some guests who don’t show up on time, makes you wait causing delays.
Samantha_S, Mar 2025
I would not book any tour through viator again. It was extremely hard just to get the meeting point and the time from the agency taking us. Although they did email me about 8 hours before the excursion, it was a headache. Everyone on the tour got wrist bands for a free buffet however, viator did not offer that option. 100 percent recommend the tour it was awesome but do not book through here, majority of other couples on the bus said they booked at their hotel and/or Expedia
Scott_L, Feb 2025
The tour description is a lie. You only have like 45 min in Tulum and you will only see a small portion of the site. There is also no free time to explore, like the description says. It is all guided. They also drop you off at the shops in Playa del Carmen for 2 hours, which is not in the description. The whole day takes 12 hours, not 6-7.
The cenote is as described. And the tour guides are amazing. They just clearly aren’t given the same instructions as this ad describes.
If you only want 45 minutes to take a few pictures at Tulum, then have a good lunch/swim in a cenote, walk around the little market in Playa del Carmen for 2 hours, then this is actually a great tour. It’s just not what we wanted or paid for. We booked specifically because it said we would have over an hour to explore Tulum after the guided tour, and that doesn’t happen.

Nice experience with good tour guide and driver. The trip was on time and planned out well by the tour guide, Susana
Eduardo_S, Jan 2025
They changed the pickup place and I was not informed. They left us and we were charged for the tour 1
Sanjay_C, Dec 2024
Well organized, safe and comfortable ride. Great site to have a good understanding of the Mayan civilization.
Dirk_B, Dec 2024
Tour was good, info before was bad. We were told we would be picked up at 7:50am on the day before we left at 5pm. At 9:10 pm we got a new email saying they would now pick us up at 7am. I didn't see the email till 3am that morning. I had to wake everybody early and get them up. Also they told us one price for the tickets, then changed the price days later and would not accept the prices quoted. Had to run around to find the money for the new price. Keep things consistent!!

Miguel_L, Mar 2024
The cenote in the cave was awesome! Our tour guides Mr Estrella Mr Villalobos and two other colleagues were also awesome!
Laura_F, Jan 2024
We booked on line and when we got to the pickup point, no one was there. We called the number of viator, only to hear that the woman was too busy and never booked us. I was never notified but did I get a confirmation number. Terrible and undependable
YIGuan_T, Jan 2024
Waiting, waiting and waiting due to lack of planing ahead by the tour guide. Wish to have less waiting and more organized.
Amit_V, Jan 2024
Sat tour is the worst tour agency in cancun for this tour. They changed tour itinerary from 8 hours to 12 hrs with no prior notification. When we asked for refund, they did not provide refund and forced us to take this tour. We missed other plans in cancun because of sat tour

Our guide was excellent! The cenote swim was cool! There is an additional 2 hours in Playa del Carmen that is included and not mentioned before getting on the bus. We had VERY poor communication regarding the pick up place and time but trip made up for it.

DO NOT BUY from this tour agent!!
We were waiting in front of Forever 21 (I love playa souvenir) playa del Carmen 7:40am in the morning, and waited there for 40mins.
By 8:10am no one show up, we contacted the tour company SAT at same time, finally around 8:20am SAT agent replied our WeChat message, and told us that the pick up point was changed to 2 blocks away from Original pick up point. The pick up was operated by 3 party company, and they didn’t sent any email nor notification to us.
We contacted Viator to process refund, and Viator should eliminate this travel agent to protect their reputation.
Response from Host, Dec 2023
