8 hours of driving in a cramped bus

Dawson_E, Mar 2025
This tour took 14 hours, 8 of that was spent driving. They give you a small lunch at 12:30 pm but don’t drop you off at the hotel till 10:00 pm. Needless to say we were starving when we got back and were barely able to get food from the resort that late. The guides were very nice but the miserable drive made this activity not worth it.

Response from Host, Mar 2025

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re sorry to hear that the length of the tour didn’t meet your expectations. The tour does take approximately 12 hours due to the distance traveled, and we understand that the long drive can be tiring. We will certainly take your comments into account to improve the experience for future guests. We’re glad to hear that the guides were friendly, and we hope you’ll consider joining us again on a different excursion that may be more suitable for your preferences

Increased surcharge on the day by $10 USD each. Everyone paid different amounts

Peita_S, Feb 2025
While the venues we visited were fantastic, the tour guide was knowledgeable, the bus driver drove very safely, and the bus was very comfortable, the cost of the trip was very deceptive, and when I sought clarification on the final fee figure from the tour company itself via email and WhatsApp the day before the tour, plus the tour guide that morning who said it might depend on who you book with which I believe should not make a difference as we all went to the same places. I never received why it went from $35 USD surcharge payable on the day (which was stated at the time of booking, and still that figure remained on the day on the website), to the four of us being charged $45 USD each. The person in front of us only paid $40. This surcharge is the taxes, which they say varies from inflation. How can each booking vary? I never received a discount on the initial booking. It is a deceptive way to make extra money from you. The tour guide also tried to give you the guilt trip about how long of a day they work, how poor the workers at the site locations are, and that we should purchase things from them, forgetting that everyone on that trip has worked hard and long days to save up for this trip to Mexico.

Response from Host, Feb 2025

Dear Peita_S Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. We truly appreciate you taking the time to express your concerns. We’re glad to hear that you enjoyed the venues, the knowledge of the tour guide, and the safety and comfort of the bus. However, we sincerely apologize for the confusion regarding the surcharge and the pricing discrepancy you experienced. We understand how frustrating it can be when pricing is not clear, and we agree that such inconsistencies should not occur. We will look into this matter to ensure all pricing is communicated transparently and that future guests do not face similar issues. Regarding the comments made by the tour guide, we regret that this made you uncomfortable. Our intention is never to pressure our guests into making purchases, and we will address this internally to make sure our team focuses on providing a pleasant and relaxed experience for all. We truly value your feedback, as it helps us improve. We hope you will give us another opportunity to serve you better in the future. Thank you again for sharing your thoughts, and we wish you all the best on your future travels. Kind regards, The Cancun Travel Experience Team

Never got picked up. Despite the ticket mentioning the hotel name and multiple texts operator failed to pick us from the hotel. Utterly disappointed after waiting for an hour and three phone calls. We returned home without going to Chichen( tour was booked weeks in advance and our main reason to go to Cancun)

Response from Host, Feb 2025

Dear Raveen_A Thank you for taking the time to leave us your feedback. We are sorry we were unable to meet your expectations regarding the Chichen-Itza tour. According to our records, the hotel information you provided in your reservation was different from where you were located, and due to time and availability constraints, we were unable to pick you up. We tried to reschedule your activity so you could still enjoy it, but unfortunately, we were not successful. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused. If you have any further questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to contact us. Once again, we apologize for not being able to provide you with an exceptional experience. We had a bad experience...

Rolando_H, Jan 2025
We had a bad experience with your operator Can Cun Travel Experience. Your tour receipt indicated thar there was a additional payment of 800 Mexican pesos for the local tax at Chichen Itza, and they charged us 855 with no explanation as we requested.

Response from Host, Feb 2025

Dear Rolando_H, Thank you for informing us about your experience. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused. The extra charge reflected in your confirmation, which you paid, corresponds to the taxes that are paid directly at the archaeological site. These taxes are required for all visitors to the ruins at our destination, and this detail is included in the product description. We deeply regret any misunderstandings that may have arisen regarding this situation. Please feel free to reach out to us directly if you have any further concerns. We value your feedback and look forward to providing you with a better experience in the future. Sincerely, The Cancun Travel Experience Team
