Overview

Commune with nature from the wheel of your own speedboat on this ever-popular tour of the Nichupte Lagoon and its mangrove jungle. Follow your guide through the winding channels as you look out for wildlife, then slip into the warm water to snorkel coral reef and some of the sculptures from the Cancun Underwater Museum of Art. Your package includes lockers and showers, but excludes the reef preservation fee.

What To Expect

Explore Cancun’s clear, warm water on this group speed boat jungle tour and snorkel adventure. Your tour starts at a designated meeting point, where you’ll get to know your guide and the members of your group. Then head out to the Nichupte Lagoon and drive your own speed boat through the mangroves.

You’ll stop to snorkel at the underwater museum and coral reef. The water is warm and shallow, so this tour is perfect for beginners or more experienced snorkelers.

There are lockers and showers for you to use, so you can get clean and comfy after your swim/snorkel. Snorkel equipment is also provided so you don’t need to source this elsewhere.

I dont usually write reviews BUT I went today (24/04) and oh my what an excursion it was! Cebe was absolutely awesome and didnt rush us, he really was fab! Clear instructions in English and Spanish. I even tried snorkeling for the first time with a fear of going in the sea. Crystal blue waters with lots of fish swimming around our boats. This is a must trip! Do it! You won't regret regret it. I paid for our photo which came in a nice wooden frame for 350 pesos (£13.50) brilliant quality and clear photo. Highly recommend!

Really fun tour

Really well organised and professional with friendly staff. Was unexpectedly able to accommodate 3 of us whom had not booked. I had booked the husband with my daughter however upon arrival was advised that myself and my 2 children could go too ( obviously paying) if i had been able to prebook we would have . It felt safe and it was sooo much fun ( i had done a similar tour on jetski and didn't enjoy it) oma our guide was great made sure we all knew what we were doing. The video and pictures looked good, but we declined as felt £79 was expensive for what was offered, personal choice. Would definitely recommend the tour.

Loved everything. Not too long but not too short. The reef, the statues under water, the speed boat and snorkeling...Amazing..Pito, our guide, was also amazing!! Will do again if we return!! You dont have to be a good swimmer. If you can walk a mile, this should be nothing.

This adventure was so much fun. We arrived, were quickly given snorkels, flippers, life jackets and then we made our way to the speed boats. Our guide Jose explained how to operate the boats, hand signals we'd need to know and then we were off. Within 15/20 minutes of arriving we were speeding towards the reef. Driving the two seater speed boat was a lot of fun. The water got a little choppy at times but it always felt safe. When we arrived at the reef Jose docked the boats together, hooked our snorkels onto our masks and then we were jumping out of the boat. I feel like we should of had a few more minutes before getting into the reef getting used to the face mask and snorkel because I bumped into the reef a few times. After about 10 minutes we all got the hang of it and had a lot of fun. Jose led us through the reef and then after 30/45 minutes we headed back to the boats for another speed ride back to the dock. I definitely recommend this tour over other reef tours. The tour provider took photos and a drone video of us driving the speed boats but the package was $100USD which was too much for what you got.

Great experience kinda scary and I wasn’t even the driver. Gernano great tour guide pointed out crocodile, iguana an birds on the tour. Snorkeling cancelled due to waters, still same price.

Omar was a great tour guide! The boat was fun, a little nerve wrecking, but you get used to it. There is a $20 “docking fee” per person when you arrive. Just a reminder!

Great few hours

Really enjoyed this experience and for the quality of the few hours was relatively cheap. Myself and my 5 year old daughter went. I was very apprehensive about driving the boat but after a couple of minutes started to really enjoy the experience. Pablo our guide was fantastic and had a floating ring for my daughter which he looked after so I could have a bit of time to enjoy snorkelling I know some reviews have said about the cost of pictures and video footage but to be honest all of the places we visited had souvenir pictures/videos around this price.

Exhilarating

An exhilarating and terrifying experience at the start, driving my own speed boat with everyone else in our group having someone sat next to them. But l soon learnt the ropes, and it turned out to be an exciting, adrenaline-fuelled run as we sped past open stretches of the Nichupte lagoon and snaked through the lush mangrove forests. It was an experience of a lifetime! The snorkelling part of the tour was cancelled due to the rains, hence four stars.

Poorly managed, but great experience

RIP off prices for media - 15 second video is £45!!! Which they never sell, rather than selling for a fair price £10-£20 which many would buy and theyd make more money….do you even know your attachment rate on media sales, should be 40% or more in the leisure business. The experience was also 1.5 hours, not 2 hours so was short changed on the time out on the board. However, it was a really nice experience and only 2 things that are easily fixable that would make this perfect!! I would recommend it, it just isn’t quite what is says on the tin.

Worth Every Penny

Went with my mom on the speedboat and snorkel excursion. Our guide Merci was informative and kept an eye on all of the boats. One of the boats broke down, and he was able to quickly get to the boat and start it back up. The snorkeling was out in the ocean in a roped off area over a coral reef. It was really cool to see all of the fish chilling in their habitat. Some of the fish even swam right past my face! After the snorkeling, our guide helped us get back onto the boat. I'm a tall and curvy woman and he was able to pull me up easily. We were provided with cold bottled water for the trip back to Aquaworld. If you enjoy snorkeling and activity, I'd recommend this 100%. It is tiring on the body afterwards, but it's a perfect morning excursion where you can just go back to your resort and relax for the rest of the day.

It was a very windy day in Cancun so we could not snorkel and they only gave us a $3 discount $82 instead of $85. Hindsight we should have asked for a refund because water was murky and boat ride was choppy. Guides were nice but it was super hot with no shade for 2 hours and the water was not enjoyable whatsoever.

This was a fun time. Short and sweet - just enough for freedom on the open water and beauty. Snorkeling was in a good spot- not crowded at all. We saw a huge sting ray.

We had a blast driving the speed boats. Our tour guide was very nice and helpful. My only complaint is that I booked through TripAdvisor over the phone and I told them I needed a 3 person boat. Unfortunately, the large boat have to be reserved with the venue in advance. When we arrived we ended up having to pay extra to get a 2nd boat since the large boat was already reserved.

Checkin process painless. No need to have prior experience driving a boat - the instruction was more than adequate. The snorkeling at the reef was very nice and compared to Hawaii, we saw a lot more aquatic life. A great experience overall.

DA BOMB.COM!!! Me & Hubby had a BALL!! It was so good to finally find something different to do rather than the same ole same basic excursions. The driving time in the water was not too short & nice scenery. The snorkeling was ok didn't see much more than the black & yellow fish. Our guide was amazing, patient and very tentative.

Where should I start ! This was so much fun I recommend anyone who visiting Cancun to try this excursion. It was 10 min away from the hotel we stood at “Dream Sand resort spa”. To feel the breeze passing and just enjoy the beautiful scenery was awesome, Jose the tour guy was awesome and delightful to work with.
