Beautiful location, great offer. Unfortunately, the tour was canceled due to local conditions beyond the operator's control. Easy refund. We'll be happy to come back and do the tour next time.

Your guide and driver excellent.
Thought the show was basic, storytelling wasn't great and lights disappointing. Nice to see the pyramids in the evening.

When we reached Cairo, Viator cancelled this booking as it was not being shown due to a scheduled event. THEN WE NEVER RECEIVED A REFUND!!!
Discover_P, Apr 2025
We were informed by the service provider EMO TOURS EGYPT on the same day and at the last minute of the cancellation of this excursion that we had booked and paid for.
They informed us that on the scheduled date, April 16th, there was no sound and light show at the Pyramids of Giza/Cairo.
They confirmed to us via WhatsApp that they had received an email from the show organizers informing them that the show would not take place on days 16 and 17 due to renovations.
However, they received this email in early April and informed us of the situation only on the very day that this excursion was scheduled.
We await your URGENT response.

They cancelled this tour within only a couple of hours of when we were supposed to go and I had planned my evening around this. They said Viator will refund me but I'm yet to hear back from them "looking into it".

Night light show with the view of piramids of Giza. The view is panoramic, so there is a possibility to take a lot of videos and photos with the view of the lightened pyramids.

The fact that pyramids are lit up at night and set against the night sky is good enough reason to go. The story line is historically based but with artistic licence... voices seemed to be Shakespearen actors and have Victorian outlook on Egyptian history... thought I was listening to commentary and crowd noises from a cricket match, varsity rugny match or Oxford/ Cambridge boat race... more audio than visual display... seen much better pictures on Google...
Have to have attentive ear to follow long commentary, and wouldn't advise for kids... I cant imagine what listening to the script in another language would be like .. glad we did it but a little underwhelming

Did not honor itinerary.
We were told as per itinerary and had paid for tickets to many pyramids and sphinx but was taken into Cheops pyramid only
Took a drive by photo in front of sphinx… which was not what was promised . We had paid for admission to the sphinx
Instead took to shopping stores which was not listed in itinerary …like perfumery and papyrus stores where operator might get kick backs

Our guide was a wonderful young man, great manners and professional. He was exactly on time for pickup as promised, in spite of the chaotic traffic of evening rush hours. Well versed in English, Russian and Arabic.

A fun time , way worth it for the amazing pics and to get a little synopsis on the history of the pyramids .. worth it alone for the pics !!

The show is appropriate for those who have a layover in Cairo during the night. It is a 50 minute drive from the airport, about 1 hour of show, 50 minute drive back to the airport. The show itself was underwhelming, the narration can be improved to be interesting and engaging.
The tour operator charges 45 USD per person, including the 15 USD entrance ticket. The car was private and clean, the driver was safe. We were met by a guide, who did not give us any history about the pyramids, but instead insisted we go to a jewelry shop 15 minutes before the show started. The guide said we cannot go inside yet, when clearly people were already going inside to see the show. We refused to go inside the jewelry shop because we wanted to see the pyramids even from afar before it got dark, but were not able to do so because we wasted time walking towards the jewelry shop. For two people, we paid 90 USD, of which 30 USD was for the tickets and 60 USD for transportation only.

A good experience. Picked up ammnd dropped off from the hotel. Taken to the venue. The ticket were purchased for us. The light show was interesting. Value for money but perhaps needs a little updating. All in all a good experience worth the money.
Geraldine_F, Apr 2024
My guide, Hamad, from Emo tours was pleasant and helpful. He got me there safely, making sure I knew where to go and was waiting outside to take me home. The pyramids looked great under lights.
Karan_B, Nov 2023
Nice show while the sound could be improved a little. The pickup and drop-off went seamlessly. The tour guide even hung around with us for a little bit after the show giving us some extra information on the history of Giza and Egypt.
Jade_T, Nov 2023
This experience is not worth the money that we paid for. First of all, I requested to be picked up on the way to the light show between my hotel and the light show. They told me that they would charge me a 20$ US more just to be picked up on the way to the show rather than being picked up at my hotel. Unacceptable. When I was picked up finally after arguing on the phone with the tour operator for over 30 minutes, he came and picked me up at the destination I told him I was at. When I got into the car, the tour operator guy (see photo attached) started telling at me exclaiming how, because of me, we are going to be late to the show (which we ended up not being at all) and how it was ridiculous on my part to request such a modification at this time (I requested this 2hrs before the show). I respond by telling him that I could be picked up on the side of the road no problem if being picked up where I was was SUCH a problem (I even told him I could have taken a taxi to go on the side of the autoroute to be picked up) IF he really wished to not be late for his own self. I was with my friend during the time of the call with the provider to rearrange the pick up. My friend is a tour operator himself and said that the 20$ surcharge is a ridiculous surcharge. AND this was a private ride therefore, it did not matter to me or my grandfather if we missed 5 minutes of the show due to this pick up modification. While almost yelling back at the tour operator when I just get into the car, he became silent after realizing I was getting mad. His reviews and his image meant more than arguing with me I believe. On top of this, the driver drove like a maniac across town because we were going to miss 5 minutes of the show. This was too much. On top of this, during the whole ride, the driver was looking at me with flirtatious eyes. He took the chance of writing on Google Translate, while driving, that he found me beautiful, had been eyeing me all night, and asked for my number. I found this extremely unprofessional and did not appreciate this. As I walked out of the car with my grandfather at the end of the night, disgusted by this driver and what had happened all night with the tour operator, the driver asks that I give him a tip. I obviously denied and left. I was extremely uncomfortable with everything that happened. This was by far one of the worst experiences I've had in Egypt and I do not recommend at all. The lack of professionalism this company has is outstanding.

The sound and light show at the Giza pyramids were fitting for my last two weeks spent in Egypt. Although the show could definitely be updated, with new lights and lasers and additional technical improvements including updating the voices who speak the storyline, overall my friends and I enjoyed viewing the pyramids and Sphinx in all their glory against the night sky and take in the history we witnessed. It was a beautiful warm breezy night where we could sit, relax and listen to all the storylines Egypt has to offer from thousands of years.
Rita_M, Jul 2023
Great location - the perfect view! Well worth going! Some more modern sound equipment, an updated script and the latest in lasers would put it over the top. Viator logistics and employees were great

What a wonderful last evening in Egypt, our pick up time was 7pm so we were at the pyramids ready to watch the sun set over the pyramids & sphinx which was quite special, we had a lovely guide (Jessy) who already had the tickets so no queue to buy, and guided us through before she took us to a spot to take some brilliant sunset photos of us which was unexpected. It was great seeing the pyramids lit up in versions colours with music.
Our driver Mustafa was also very nice and made driving through the hectic traffic at that time of the evening seem easy. Thanks Jessy & Mustafa.
I’ve had several trips with Emo Tours over the past week and recommend them for their communication, on time pick ups and their guides and drivers - many thanks to them.
Rene_K, May 2023
We appreciated the top service of our young guide yiama who also could arrange for my wife the earphone in Spanish during the English sound and light show...
SylvainLpine, May 2023
Thank you to our guide et driver from Emo tours. Always on time and polite and very good. The show was very good
Jack_G, May 2023
Tour was cancelled day of the tour. Waited over an hour for pickup, then called to Find out tour was cancelled. As we are traveling, cancellation was sent by text. Which we did receive a notice of cancellation, as we did not have internet. since we did not have internet, it was meaningless.

We loved it. Easy pick up and drop off. Everyone had told us the show was awful and not to waste our time but it was worth doing as we probably won’t be back. It was a bit outdated but so what. I’d pay the money just to get photos of the pyramids at sunset. I couldn’t upload them though.
KAMAL_M, Apr 2023
Bad Planning - Cairo traffic is a nightmare - so this excursion Hotel pick-up must be atleast 45 minutes earlier at 1715 instead of 1800. After a 1000 apologies, our Guide took us through the back-lanes of Cairo, on one way roads, zipping through traffic, and reached us about 10 minutes after show start time. Show feedback - no content to the Show, no story or theme, where Cairo of all the places in Egypy, should be having the best Show theme - there was none. SOUND - Stray Dog Barking is louder than the Show commentary. LIGHT - PATROL CARS every 3 minutes in-between the Pyramids, Out-shone the Show lights. GIZA Sound and Light Show is a very poor comparison to KARNAK TEMPLE show - which was awesome!

It was supposed to be on Wednesday the 29th march 2023 but The show was canceled, but I know from YouTube that the show is beautiful, I couldn’t do it but I recommend Viator, I used their service in others shows and they were perfect.
I will be only two days more in Cairo so
Please I need a refund.
Thank you so much.
Natalia

Don't need a guide for this. The experience is more of a history lesson than light show. Very informative and worth seeing.
radhutalkad, Mar 2023
At the end of the show all the pyramids and Sphinx lights should stay on for a few minutes. This would allow the audience to take some good photographs and videos to keep as great memories. We captured almost none as the lights were turned off abruptly at the end!
Laura_S, Jan 2023
Nice experience overall! Prompt pick up time and nice guide. The show is out dated, as others have said, but my family was glad we did it.
Thomas_M, Dec 2022
Nice evening to see the pyramids, but the show is very dated. Needs a total update. ( From a theatrical consultant)
Adam_M, Nov 2022
First, disregard the negative complains about the show. If you're looking for a laser light show experience, you're not going to get it. It's just the pyramids, right there, just coloured up. It's a simple show
Second, the tour agencies do not control what language is played. The show is in the language of the majority of the audience members. It is not in the tour company's control. You get a headset to listen to the translation
Third, the show is 45-50 minutes. So it's a nice quick event.
With that said, the tour was delightful and our driver got us there on time. Our guide was a very pleasant chat throughout the tour .
So this is just a quick little 3 hour start to finish that is definitely worth it.

This was AMAZING! It was a 1hr history lesson about the sphinx and the pyramids behind the sphinx. The lights were OK. What makes this show so special is to sit in front of the sphinx and the pyramids for 1 hour and just enjoy the view! To see the shadow of the pyramids and then see it lit up! WOW! I would do this again and I would recommend to anyone. The narrator is in whatever language of the most people viewing that night, everyone else can get a translator head set. The tour guide led us to the best seats and then left us to enjoy the show. The guide returned to our seats in the last few minutes of the show. She took our pictures in front of the pyramids and then took us back to the car.
