Overview

When in Bilbao, you cannot pass up the abundance of pintxos piled up in bars and restaurants throughout the city. Join this walking tour where your guide will help you choose the best spots to try them. You’ll visit La Ribera Market, the Old Town, and the Ensanche. Our Pinxtos tour was terrific: our guide Roberto took us to amazing pinxtos bars that were historic, had great food, wine, and with informative and fun conversation. The only issue we had was that we didn’t do it sooner in our stay in Bilbao!

This was a last minute booking and it turned out that my husband and I were the only people in the group. This was great because that way we had our guide Oscar all to ourselves. He showed us local bars and introduced us to a variety of Pintxos, local wines and cider. He also told us about the history as well as present topics. We had a great time!

What a great tour! Oscar was a friendly, accommodating and truly knowledgeable guide whose enthusiasm and passion for his hometown was infectious and invigorating. He clearly knows his stuff when it comes to the bars and wines and pintxos. We only had one day in Bilbao and he helped us make the most of it. We had a small group and everyone was nice and engaged. This was one of our favorite tours while in Bilbao. Being from the states, pintxos is a very different concept for us. So it was a little challenging for us to go out. Robert was awesome. He took us on a tour of Bilbao and shared information about the Basque culture and some history of Bilbao. We went to 4 different bars around the Old town that were great. We tasted a few different pintxos and paired with wine. I would not miss this on your visit. I would make sure you do it early so that you can get the best benefit. We even made new friends and shared a bottle of wine together in plaza nueva. Excellent experience.

Oskar is a very friendly nice guy with whom we felt ourselves very comfortable from the first minutes. We visited 4 places to test pintxos and wine or beer or other interesting drinks and enjoyed very much. He met our expectations to test pintxos with meat and only with fish or see food. Oskar also told a little bit about history of city and basque’s country, pintxos. The problem that we arrived not very hungry and thirsty. And this fact spoiled our experience. And additional thing: if you mix different drinks: wine, beer or anything else, then it could be a problem later on…

A truly awesome experience. Oscar took us on an informal tour starting in the new town and ending in the old. He had plenty of insight into the history of Bilbao and the Basque Country which he shared in a relaxed, improvised way that allowed us to ask questions and get to know him too. He took note of our culinary interests and sought to share the best pintxos and drinks given our preferences. He even shared a list of other stops we might like to make next time we’re in town. Honestly worth every penny. A bilbainada!

This tour is so fun and informative. Oskar took us to some authentic bars where all the pintxos were freshly grilled. We tried txakoli and rioja wines, kalimotxo (red eine and cola) and a marianito. Oskar is a great guide!
