Excellent experience worth the time and effort to get there. Need to allow a couple of hours at least to experience the entire museum
We needed 3 more weeks to explore & enjoy everything. Ruth Asawa & Richard Serra exhibitions were incredible

The Guggenheim Museum Bilbao is peobably best known for its dwsign by Frank Gehry than by its collection. The collection is neither bad nor good - most visitors will have seen these same artists represented at other world museums (this collection boasts a large Koons plus the mammoth constructions by Richard Serra, however). It struck me how relatively few pieces were on exhibit, although special exhibits (Asawa, Johns) took up much of the room. If you like post WWII art, you'd enjoy the collection.

Having purchased the entry ticket through Viator, we turned up at the entry and the staff at the entry desk couldn't access the ticket. They referred us to the Information desk, where they also failed to make the link work.

The building was AMAZING! When we went in to drop off our coats, the staff were very friendly and helpful. However, by the end of the day, they literally THREW our coats at us! They could not wait till we visitors had gone! This was in February... I'd hate to deal with them in the busy Summer Season!

Wasn’t the experience. The tour guide didn’t refund the tickets as I booked Guggenheim in NYC. I wasn’t in Spain and obviously couldn’t make the appointed time. I know there was no refund but really?

The Viator experience was not good. Didn't receive QR codes so couldn't get entry ticket at museum. Had to contact Viator and after a wait eventually got through to someone who arranged for the QR codes to be emailed to me. Would recommend booking direct with museum rather than the experience I had.

The museum was incredible- quite eye opening. The one issue we had is that we didn’t have tickets in advance, only a voucher and the woman at the help desk said we must have the ticket. We were frazzled and frustrated and combed through our emails back 6 months since our purchase. Luckily, a new woman at the help desk arrived and found our names and printed the tickets for us in moments.

The staff at the Museum told us they could not exchange our vouchers for tickets, we had to call Viator’s provider and request that they send the tickets vía email. We lost precious time before being able to finally get into the wonderful Guggenheim Museum. I recommend travelers to directly get their tickets from the Museum website.

This is an amazing museum in a beautiful city. We were able to find great parking just down the street and enjoyed a lovely lunch before spending 3 hours inside the museum and an hour outside walking around the building which is a must.
