A great introduction to the Basque Country, a bit of it's history and culture, Miguel conveys his passion for the area in a fun and informative way. Lots of tips and ideas of things to do, a walking tour is an essential to start a visit to the area.

Take a walk with Miguel! When you consider a free tour, you may not have a lot of expectations but this tour gets better with each and every step. Perhaps, he will introduce stage one two or three. It’s filled with rich history, discovery and passion! We highly recommend commend taking a tour either Miguel. We learned a lot more than other Bilbao tour.

Miguel was a great guide. He shared the historical context of the area with us so we had a sense of place when the tour began. He walked us through the streets of the old town stopping at important areas of interest and linked them to how they corresponded in an historical and social context. He was very friendly and talkative -also full of great tips about what we could see in and around the area, also how to get to various places using the transport systems and answered all the questions eagerly.
I also have to note that it was a really really hot day and throughout the tour Miguel made sure we had water to drink and took us past water fountains so we could fill our bottles and remain hydrated!
Thoroughly recommend joining a walking tour with him. 🌻

Thanks for the feedback! Just for context, one of our guides is currently in his formation process, which means he’s actively learning through real tours and real guest interaction. Unlike many jobs that happen quietly behind a screen, tour guiding is a very public profession — every answer, reaction, and moment is instantly open to review 😄 Luckily, that pressure is also what helps turn new guides into great ones (like all of ours). The tour was well structured and the guide was very knowledgeable. I think to make it better a little presentation of the people taking part in the tour before beginning can help break the ice for solo travellers like myself. In my case we were a small group this could have been easily done. Other than that I would definitely recommend!

Miguel is a local, and he is very pleasant, knowledgeable, entertaining and interesting. He gave us a really good summary of the history and culture of the Basque people and region, but also lots of great tips for things to see and do in and around Bilbao. It’s also a good walking tour, as while the old town is small and compact, we did cover a nice distance in the 1 hr 40 minute tour we took. If you like walking tours, as we do, this is great and one of the best we have had anywhere. We hadn’t intended to take this tour as we had booked a ‘priced’ one that was cancelled on the morning. We found this one at short notice and it was great. There were 7 of us in total, and based on the tips given at the end, we all really enjoyed it and felt Miguel easily earned his tip.
