The Power of the American Passport

It was a strange situation: even though we couldn't obtain the QR codes required for entry—and despite the fact that no one at Viator seemed to consider that internet access is an issue in China—we simply walked up to the entrance, and upon seeing our American passports, they let us right in. I immediately realized that we had paid for tickets we didn't actually need. Once inside, we thoroughly enjoyed all the wonders found there.

Although entrance was allowed all the temples were closed . Which made it an absolute waste or time .

The process of obtaining the ticket and entering the monument were really easy and the tour operator really friendly.However,I would recommend to the future travellers to avoid national holidays for visiting this monument as it gets really,really crowded.There are only 2 small windows that allow you to take a glimpse of the interior and everyone is pushing and tramping,kicking and doing whatever rude thing you can imagine in order to get a chance to take a picture.

I bought the ticket pack to the Temple of Heaven and the Forbidden City, and a few days before the tour, they sent me a WhatsApp advising that they did not have to give me the tickets to the Forbidden City (I had to pay them again on the spot). I requested a partial refund (since we paid for both excursions) and was refused. Little seriousness and no responsibility. I don't recommend it.

Ce n'est pas tant le lieu que je critique aujourd'hui mais la vente du billet en elle meme. En effet après avoir acheté le billet et m'etre présenté à l'entrée comme indiqué, je me suis vu notifier le fait que le billet n'était pas valable et que je devais acheter un nouveau ticket. J'ai donc dû repayer une autre fois pour visiter ce lieu (qui est très beau cela dit au passage)!!
