I did not realise I need a separate booking for the square. Gladly my forbidden city provided notified me. I was able to book Tienmsn Square tickets the day before with this provider. E erything wry thing went smoothly. Highly recommend. I booked the day before dnd everything worked.

Agent service is reliable and top, but I recommend not to go to Tienanmen due to long lines at security check points

The lines through multiple security gates to enter Tienanmen can be really long and can easily take 1 or more hours. If you are trying to enter the square and have a morning ticket for the Forbidden City, you may have not enough time. That’s what happens to us, we have to forego with Tienanmen. There was a long line right inside the subway station and that line was not moving fast enough on a Tuesday. I recommend skipping this. The travel agent service is top notch. The reservations wss emailed to us right on time.

The ticket purchase said nothing about millions of crowds and multiple security lines would prohibit us to actually get in to the venue. This should be disclosed because the masses of people is clearly a daily occurrence

Easy to get the digital ticket. Must be booked at least one day before. Just need to show reservation record on phone with passport to get in. A lot of security and different stages of checking. Worth the effort though for this iconic visit

Everything worked out perfectly as we got our tickets within 3 hours. On the day of the visit the square was so crowded (probably 3hour wait) in the morning that we decided to go in the evening instead (even if tickets indicated 8-12 time slot). We had no issue access the square after 30min wait. Thank you for the great service

As a foreigner visiting China, don’t bother trying to wrangle a reservation for the free ticket to Tiananmen Square. Just pay a little extra to have the peace of mind that will make your visit much easier. Be ready for long queues on the day of your visit and multiple checkpoints and long walking before even reaching the gate. While you do have to choose a gate to enter at the time of reservation, you do not need to enter from your chosen gate on that day.
