The guides provided fun...

The guides provided fun interesting facts and were happy to answer all our random questions. They did a great job keeping us together in the rain.

Fast paced, mildly rugged terrain. The Alberobello guide was excellent. Spoke English well and was quite knowledgeable. She was kind and patient with me considering my mobility issues. Now, the Matera guide was annoyed at my being slow. We agreed he would take the group on ahead and I would "do my thing". I had the best Aperol Spritz and hot chocolate (not at same time 😅) of my trip so far - Vittorio Veneto Caffe.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We’re very pleased to hear that you found the Alberobello guide excellent, knowledgeable, and especially kind and patient in accommodating your mobility needs — this is something we truly value. We’re sorry to learn that your experience in Matera did not feel as supportive. While the fast pace and mildly rugged terrain can be challenging, we regret if you felt uncomfortable at any point. We appreciate your flexibility in finding a solution that allowed you to enjoy the visit at your own rhythm. We’re glad, however, that you still managed to enjoy a memorable moment in Matera — and it sounds like the Aperol Spritz and hot chocolate at Vittorio Veneto Caffè were a highlight! 😄 Your feedback is very important to us and helps us continue improving our tours.

Excellent tours but cautions for those with mobility difficulties

Laura_H, Jul 2025
Both tours were excellent and the guides very knowledgeable as they have lived in the areas all their lives. They are not scared to discuss the less pleasant aspects of the area’s history. However if you have mobility issues be aware that the coach drops you off on the edge of town, and in the case of Matera this is at the top of a hill. The guide meets you off the coach and takes you to the historic area but this is a significant distance from where you are dropped off. In Alberobello there are a lot of steps and hills but the walk from the coach is flat. In Matera you go downhill to the historic centre then down steps made of very old cobblestones which have worn smooth over the years and are slippery. Even if you don’t have mobility issues make sure you wear shoes with good grips. Once you have completed the tour you then have to get back up a significant number of less slippery steps then walk back up the hill to where the coach picks you up.

Beautiful Alberobello and Matera

Buyer beware! Chaos!

DianneDarby, May 2025
There were just too many people! The tour was disorganized and the tour guide who met us was rude and overwhelmed as trying to sort people in three languages! Needed smaller groups. There were 44 in our group and the guide was oblivious that many had not paid for the guided tour. We could not hear her. Guides need microphones.

Great day

Alberobello and Matera in a day

Christine_R, Apr 2025
A very full day, very good guided tours. Visit was well organised. Lack of public toilets caused delays. Taking a guided tour of Alberobello meant that we had no free time there which was very disappointing as there was so much that we didn’t see.

Matera is a must to be seen.

Alberobello was nice but the guide explanations was too long at times boring BUT Matera was exceptional by the comments of our second guide I had a blast

Great trip. Alberobello...

Natalia_W, Feb 2025
Great trip. Alberobello was beautiful. The tour guide was good and provided a lot of information about the trulli houses however felt this part of the tour could have been shorter so we could have a longer time to spend on our own as we didn't have time during the day for any lunch. Our guide Pasquale in Matera was very good and we would have got lost without him! Thought the bread museum wasn't needed though but enjoyed everything else in Matera.
