Meet your guide and small group of no more than 15 in central Barcelona. As twilight hits the city, stroll around the Catalan capital listening to stories of what the city was like during its darkest days.
Understand what the Spanish Inquisition was, what they believed in, what methods they practiced, and how they affected the city and its people. Go further, and discover what types of executions took place in Barcelona and what public executions consisted of.
Other historical concepts you learn are what other medieval punishments happened at that time, how the development of cemeteries came about, and what the Acts of Faith of the Inquisition were. Get a chance to hear some of the city's really gnarly legends, along with the history.
Please note that because of the darker content of this tour, it isn’t recommended for children younger than 14 years of age.

We booked it last minute, got to the meeting point that was easy to find. Met with our tour guide, Elena who was super friendly, kind and funny. She made us feel welcome, included and made sure she answered all of our questions.
The Tour:
Lots of good stops that have great stories, props and use of a projector to really bring the tour to life. This tour teaches not only the history and importance of the Catalunya region. I would do this tour again in a heartbeat
The Guide:
What truly set this tour apart was the tour guide, Elena. She took the time to learn all of our names, including us in many stories to ensure we understood. Waited for questions, made us laugh and feel so welcome. I would honestly say that Elena is what makes this tour a 10/10, if you have the chance to meet her as your guide, please do.

Elena was the best tour guide! Knowledgeable, friendly, entertaining, and one of the best tour guides we've had in the city. You could tell she was passionate about the subject and gave us some lesser known insights into the most interesting parts of the city's dark past. Highly recommend this tour and ask for Elena! My mom and I took The Dark Legend Night Walking Tour, and it was the highlight of our Barcelona trip. Elena was phenomenal. She is knowledgeable, engaging, and a natural storyteller who brought the city’s dark history vividly to life. Her passion and humor kept everyone hooked from start to finish.
Walking through El Born at night with her guidance made the experience unforgettable. The small group felt personal, and the two hours flew by. If you want more than just sightseeing, this tour and especially Elena are a must.

This tour was recommended to me by a friend that visited Barcelona earlier this year and suggested it was a fun thing to add to our itinerary. Eleanor our tour guide was fabulous- so full of energy and enthusiasm, she really made the evening very enjoyable. The tour takes around 2 hours so wear comfy shoes and bring a drink - we forgot but Eleanor suggested a pit stop for us to grab some water. Highly recommend!

It's great fun. Our guide, Elena, was very lively and knowledgeable, really bringing the history of the Spanish Inquisition and general criminal punishment to life. Consider dropping pins in your maps as you go past some very interesting looking bars and restaurants in the back streets of El Born.

Elena was such a fun tour guide! So informative and bubbly. She had us reenacting dark history scenarios. I enjoyed all the tidbits of information and hidden symbols. I would highly recommend this tour. I already recommended a few people to take this tour. Elena was the best! I was a solo traveler so I walked alongside her and chatted with her a bit.

Really great experience. Our guide Elena was so fun. A two hour history lesson walking around late at night may not sound great to everyone but you should give it a try! She was really enthusiastic and entertaining and made learning about all the history so enjoyable. The two hours flew by, we learned a lot and had a great time.

Elena was fabulous, she was a great story teller throughout the evening. Included everyone and kept everyone's attention from the teens to the older. Would recommend for those interested in the dark history that occurred throughout the past. Both boys (14 & 18) enjoyed and said 5 stars.

This was a fantastic tour but make no mistake, as the name suggests, there is some pretty dark stuff. Be prepared, but if you are a history nut this tour is for you. Our guide was fantastic, funny, energetic, and full of knowledge. She did an excellent job of involving everyone in the tour as well. I am ashamed to say after a long vacation her name has escaped me but the tour was the night of 5/26/25 if that helps her get credit for her excellent job.

Had a wonderful 2 hour walk through parts of old town. The stories were well researched, our guide was just lovely and the use of props and visuals made it interactive.
I would have been happy if there was an earlier option as all the door and wine bar recommendations along the way made me want to stop and stay.
