Greet your guide in a central Barcelona location, and climb aboard a comfortable, air-conditioned minivan for the scenic drive into the heart of the Penedés region. Listen as your professional guide provides the historical and geological context of the area and then arrive at your first stop, a traditional cava production house.
Tour the winery with a knowledgeable staff member, and descend into the underground cellars where the first bottle of cava was produced 150 years ago. Hear about technological innovations that have transformed production processes, and then sample some of the winery’s emblematic varieties at the end of your enriching tour.
Next, head to a small, family-run winery that prides itself on its artisan cava-making process. Enrich your knowledge of alternative manufacturing methods, and then sample a delicate cava considered one of the best in Spain. Revitalize with a traditional Spanish lunch in a local village (own expense), and then return to your comfortable coach for the journey to your next destination.
Arrive at an organic winery specializing in white and red wines, and embark on a guided tour of the establishment’s cellars and vineyards. Relax in the ambient bar as you pleasure your palate with a selection of refined wines and then admire the rural scenery as you travel back to Barcelona, where the tour concludes.

Rod, our tour guide was great. He shared very relevant historical, site seeing and wine facts. The day was full from start to finish. We have been to hundreds of wineries around the world. The three wineries we went to provided unique experiences and I learned something at each one. Lunch was also great.

DO NOT BOOK THIS. We arrived promptly at our departure time and were casually told the tour had been cancelled. They had no explanation why we weren’t notified. There were no other activities available so we had an entire day wasted.

Nouria, our guide, and Alejandro, our driver, were excellent! Informative and so friendly. Took us to great wineries, where our hosts couldn’t have been nicer! Lunch was delicious! Perfect day! Highly recommend!

This was the best tour on our entire trip to Spain. The guide was very knowledgeable and the wineries were superb. They were very small and we had the owners spend so much time explaining their wines, as well as history of vineyards. A great escape from the crowds in the cities. Highly recommend this

An amazing day spent sampling the delightful wines of the Penedes region of Catalunya.
The selection of three very different wineries made for an inciteful glimpse into how individuals react to the variables of location, soil and weather.
Everything was perfect and Rod, our guide, ensured that everything ran smoothly including excellent recommendations for lunch.
Rod also provided a very interesting dialogue between visits, increasing our knowledge of Catalunyan and Iberian history.
On top of this Rod was a thoroughly nice guy 😎

All three wineries were great, but Kristine, the owner of Felix Massana's was by far my favorite person! We not only bought wine, but olive oil & honey as well. It's amazing how they do everything themselves & by hand.
I think our 5 kids (ages 28-18) liked the wine from Pares Balta best, but I liked Massana's best.
Mas Comtal was the most gorgeous winery & their wines were excellent.
Enrique was our guide & he was full of knowledge & so interesting!

Amazing day! We went to 3 local wineries and learned lots about the region and wine making. Our guide was top notch and lunch was at a quaint local restaurant with lots of good food, wine and charm. It was a great way to spend the day!!

This was such a great way to spend a day! Each winery was so different and they were lined up on the schedule perfectly. It made for a much better appreciation for what they’re doing. Wine was delicious, food was yummy, and everyone was very friendly! Very relaxing day!

The tour was anaxing! Xavier was fun and knowledgeable and the small group was perfect for our trip. We had a delicious local lunch and visited theee small vineyards complete with a tour! Every tour was informative and everyone was so welcoming and warm! Would highly recommend this tour!!

Fun, friendship & education. 3 quite different wineries - one family, one larger but experimenting with climate change options and the 3rd introducing new styles through changes in techniques.Very enjoyable lunch by the vineyards with the other couple on the tour.

This may be a duplicate review of one I submitted in response to a Trip Advisor email as I did not get a confirmation. To shorten this one, both the tour company (Explore Catalunya) and the tour guide (Jordy) were responsive, reliable, and welcoming. Jordy spoke clear English and was just awesome informing us of details of the region and the history of making Cava. Each winery was great and the restaurant for lunch was awesome which included a glass of wine. We highly recommend this tour and advise requesting Jordy for your excursion. He clearly made this trip informative, fun, and made this trip one of our fondest memories of visiting Barcelona. Hope to visit again soon. Tell Jordy the jazz cruise was awesome.

Enrique was an excellent tour guide! He made our small group of strangers immediately comfortable with each other and had great knowledge of all the landmarks as we left the city. The small wineries that we visited were wonderful and way more intimate than any others I've been to on larger tours. Loved it through and through!

The day started very well beung welcomed by Christel at the tour offices until our tour guide, Sergio arrived. What a very personable man who truly enjoys his work and getting to know his clients. We were four from Michigan and joined by a wondeful couple from Purto Rico. Sergio took us to his very comfortable van and we were off to the Perendes region. We visited three family run vineyards where we learned so much about their histories and challenges due to climate change as well as changes to regulations. The tastings were generous along with snacks, Sergio made a reservation for us for lunch at an excellent where we were lucky to be there at the time of the year when in-season calcots (char-grilled spring onions) were available. We learned how to eat them the Catalan-way—dipped in romesco sauce. We highly recommend this tour which takes you out of Barcelona about an hour’s distance. A bonus is to have Sergio as your tour guide.

The six of us went on tour with Rod. Both the tour itself and Rod were great - we visited three very unique wine estates and Rod also took us to a very cool place to have lunch, where we could sit right next to the vines. Throughout the tour, Rod also talked about the history and sights of Barcelona and gave recommendations for restaurants and more. Since it was only our group of 6 visiting the tour, Rod was extremely accommodating, as he was ready to pick us up from our place of stay (not from the original pick-up place). Everyone in our company confirmed that they would rate the tour 10/10 and would do it again!

We absolutely loved our wine tour with Rodrigo! He was very knowledgeable, easy to talk to, and funny! We got to visit 3 different wineries and tasted 3-4 generous pours of wine/cava at each stop. One of the stops had a wine/cheese board as well. After the second winery we stopped for a delicious lunch (not included in price of tour) and then went to the third winery. The drive is scenic and not too long- would 100% recommend this tour!
