This is NOT the tour AT hobbiton land. Brett was the tour guide and driver so basically we paid for a private scenic drive from Auckland to Rotorua where the Hobbiton land is located and have to join the big (about 40+ people) bus group at the scene with paid tickets that Brett bought for us. Overall, the drive was superb, car was comfortable and Brett was being a very good tour guide during the drive but we expected a private small group (only us) tour at the Hobbiton and this was not it. Thanks.

Sorry to hear of your disappointment,the Hobbiton Movie Set is located in Matamata...don’t recall the tour to Rotorua...yes private tour from Auckland to Hobbiton,with the 2 hour movie set tour operated by Hobbiton guides which is a standard operation.
