I enjoyed myself. Maybe a little more time at the Delphi site would be nice to climb the path but I enjoyed the guide. Not everyone made it to the top of the path but again it's probably hard to figure out how much time to give a group with something like that.

You could be left behind

DO NOT RECOMMEND. Paid $120+ for tour and was left behind because tour director didn’t know about performing a head count. After several communications, company unwilling to give a refund in spite of knowing I was not given the opportunity to see the museum. They finally did apologize.

This is a wonderful tour which includes an archaeological site belonging to Unesco world heritage and we are not happy at all that you had such an experience. We apologize for any inconvenience caused during your visit, but it is a case that we never had before. As a travel agency we either organize tours from our side, either are organized by other agencies that we cooperate with. In this specific tour you participated, it was held by a partner of ours. We understand, accept and acknowledge your point of view and your testimony, BUT on the other hand, after thoroughly reviewing the situation with our tour partner, they had a different version of the events. According to their report, the tour operator informed you to enter the museum since the other members already did so, however you stated that you do not wish to enter. In fact, they noted that you mentioned the stairs of the museum are problematic to you, thus not entering the museum. Furthermore we also noticed that there was some initial confusion regarding the meeting point at the start of your tour in between us. That same morning, despite receiving clear details for the pick-up location(exact address/postal code, photo of the location on google maps) you went to a different meeting point. To conclude there was no possibility for you to be left behind the tour simply for the two following reasons : • By completing the reservation this means that you automatically are on the name list of the day and you have been accounted for at the start of the tour by the responsible staff. • Throughout the day, our team maintained communication to provide support and help clarify any questions you had. Considering all the above, we think this review is not a justified representation of our team. We hope to welcome you on another tour soon in our country with a different experience ! I would have given this experience an average rating except for the final stage of my trip. I was dropped off from the bus at the end of the day a block from my hotel. This was not the spot where I was picked up that morning. To me, this is a foreign country, and I was left where I was unfamiliar how to get home. This decision to leave me short from my hotel was probably due to the bus in traffic crunch. Nevertheless, I was lost. Totally unwarranted stress. My other discomfort was the guide. His accent was a bit heavy and difficult to understand. He also seemed to not welcome questions. This tour guide needs to learn some people skills or find a new field of work.

The pick up procedure is a complicated one - especially in cities such as Athens where the historical center of the city is an area where big coaches have no access. The roads around the historical center are always traffic jammed and during the pickup or drop off the operation requires extremely brief stops. As you stated the bus left you one block away from the block you embarked (means less than 100m meters), so considering all the above factors this is something which might happen. Regarding the accent of the guide, please note that Greeks are not native speakers of the English language. So speaking a foreign language, the accent might vary from person to person. Tour guides usually let me down, but the man I had for this was incredibly knowledgeable and clearly interested. Pickup was done well, the coach was lovely. I wish we'd spent a little bit longer at the site but I still feel like I got a very in depth understanding.

Need more time

Loved Delphi. However, it took about 3 hours to get there and once there only had a half hour to explore. I’m in fairly good shape and not even enough time to reach the top. Then we walked to the museum next store with guide and over a hour in there. WARNING: Muat be in decent shape to do this trip. If you can’t climb stairs do not go. My mom had to sit and wait at the entrance. Don’t get me going about lunch pee fast and eat fast. Not even enough time for desert and coffee. Oh yeah, lunch was included but zero beverages. Not even water. However, George the driver made our trip. He was fantastic and maneuvered through some hairy narrow twisted streets.

We are happy to hear that our guide and driver did their best in order to add an extra value to this trip. Furthermore we are happy that you loved Delphi! This strengthens our efforts to include this monument to our tours, whose value is inestimable for Greek history and Greek culture. The site of Delphi is located on the slopes of Mount Parnassus. Therefore uphill and stairways are present and no doubt this might be moderate for people not in good fit or elderly people. We accept and we do understand that more time should be spent on this wonderful and important site. BUT there are several technical issues that do not allow us to do it. In one day we have to cover more than 500 Km by bus, in order to go and return from Delphi, meanwhile by Greek law all coaches should operate not more than certain hours - once they start from the parking area in the morning till they return to their base - with compulsory and frequent stops. All these parameters impose limitations that we cannot bypass and present a more linear itinerary. Please allow us to not accept your complaint regarding beverages, since it is clearly stated : «What's excluded Water, beverages or drinks during meals and any personal expenses & Tips.» Our goal is always to offer as much as possible! Not perfect but worthwhile.

The people I met during the trip, especially during lunch, were special. A wide variety of ages, nationalities and backgrounds. Several buses were touring at the same time so it got pretty crowded. That, the uneven slippery steep trail and the tour guide speaking made it difficult to keep focused.
