Not sure why there was even a controversy when these exhibits first started. I have been to a few of these museums starting in 1999 in Germany, and all the exhibits were well presented, this one in Amsterdam is no exception. It’s a bit smaller than others, but still very well organized and detailed explanations attached to each exhibits.
Response from Host, Feb 2026
Dear Shu,
Thank you for your review! We’re glad you enjoyed your visit and found the exhibits educational and well presented. It’s wonderful to hear that you appreciated the organisation and detailed explanations.
We hope to see you again on a future visit!
Kind regards,

Something I was definitely looking forward to forward to exploring, on entering told it starts on level 6 and lifts to the side, no other explanation.
Not as big as expected but interesting to see it all. Definitely worth visiting but even taking our time we were done in just over an hour.

Fascinating to see up close and the cross sections of bodies and a good way to spend an evening on holiday rather than sitting in a hotel room. 10yr old boy liked it too although not much reading going on!
Response from Host, Nov 2025
Dear Hannah,
Thank you for your kind review. We’re delighted that you found the exhibition fascinating and that it made for an interesting evening activity for both you and your son. It’s great to hear you enjoyed exploring the human body up close in such an engaging way.
Kind regards

EDMON_Q, Jun 2025

we spent around 2 hours in the museum
nina_f, Jun 2025
So interesting & different and well worth the money. Set out really well and takes well over an hour to look round.
Mark_H, Apr 2025
Interesting but limited number of displays. We had higher expectations that weren’t met. We would not return.
Patricia_M, Mar 2025
This is brilliant. We learnt so much and we are health care providers! Arjen and Kostis were very inviting and interested in what we had gained from the experience. They made the experience extra special.
Response from Host, Mar 2025
Dear Patricia,

Great experience. Been twice now. Would recommend to people of all ages. Very educational and surreal!
Amanda_B, Dec 2024
Very interesting, particularly if you want to know about a certain body part, how it works etc. we learned a lot
Emily_H, Oct 2024
Full body forms were amazing. It can get a little crowded. The information was in English and Dutch so that was helpful.
Leroy_B, Aug 2024
I don't know about an hour and a half, we were round in less than 30 minutes. If you've seen a few pictures you have pretty much seen the whole thing could have been contained in a quarter of the space.
Katherine_M, Aug 2024
This is such an amazing place to visit. If you like to know about the human body this place tells and shows all you need to know. The models are fantastic and really imaginative . Highly recommended
Kate_R, Aug 2024

Susan_S, Jul 2024
Fascinating and lots of interesting data. Not for everyone particularly if squeamish. Best for analytical and curious minds !
JeanPaul_N, Jul 2024
We were not really sure what to expect, but this turned out to be very interesting for all 4 of us (seniors 80, 72, 71, 69). Learning about the process of plasticization and seeing the insides of a lady who had a shoulder, a hip and a knee replacement was fantastic.
deanna_S, May 2024

Gregory_B, Apr 2024

Want incentive to change an unhealthy lifestyle? Want to be truly amazed at how fearfully and wonderfully made you are? Go to this exhibit! I was blown away by the intricacies of the human body that were displayed and explained. This was one of those exhibits one has to see to really appreciate. Actual bodies that had been donated to science were used to show you just what is packed so efficiently into your body and how well it is designed to do what it does, providing you take proper care of it!
Susan_E, Aug 2023
Very interesting. Staff on the reception not very helpful and there were 2 of them not doing a great deal. The body scan did not work
paul_t, Jul 2023

krista_k, Jun 2023
Interesting and informative! Thankful for the donors and to the creators of the exhibit. Much better than any textbook for an understanding of the human experience of life and what we make of it.
