Great trip on a beautiful boat ! Beautifully restored covered canal boat. The captain is the owner of the boat and a great tour guide. He is from Amsterdam and knows the history and all the best canal to go through. The snacks on the boat were perfect, just enough for our ride.
I highly recommend this tour.

Relaxing, love the small group setting! Our flight landed in Amsterdam at 5pm and we were on the boat at 7pm—a great first view/experience of the city! There was apparently less boat traffic than usual so we were getting through quicker than usual. Because of this, we got to see an area he doesn’t always get to take people.

I initially booked this particular canal cruise as it was the only one offering Prosecco! I know that is a shallow reason but hey it was my birthday! The Prosecco and our lovely Captain Mare were both bubbly and fun. Mare was a perfect host and a great safe driver too. She gave great information about the city and the Netherlands, culture and people, with fun and enthusiasm. The snacks were great too! There were only 6 of us onboard and the other couples were great fun too. The beautiful old boat was amazing with cover and open space too if you wanted to move around. It was an excellent 2 hours well spent and well worth it.

What a wonderful tour! Sebi and his fabulous 100+ year old historic boat led to a magical experience as we cruised around Amsterdam and learned about the city’s history. The food was delicious and the drink was exceptional. Since it was a small group (8 guests) we enjoyed delightful conversation.

We highly recommend this small group tour with Sebi Boat Tours, making for a more personalised experience. Our boat captain Mare was very friendly and knowledgeable. She looked after us very well, providing a great explanation of the history and all the main sights. It was worth doing the longer 2 hour tour which allows them to go along some of the smaller canals. A wide selection of drinks and great food. Overall we couldn’t have asked for a better experience and this was definitely a highlight of our visit to Amsterdam.

Incredible tour, you did not fell like you were on a tour. Sebastian, our captain made you fell like you were invited in his own home! Very interesting tour with plenty of comments on local history. Also, don’t worry, plenty of food and drinks! Again, one of the best “boutique” tour I have been on.

The meeting place needs a better description. 196-198 Kaisergracht is not an intuitive peer. It would help if there was some sort of marker or person on the site at least 15 minutes before the cruise.
Also, while our captain was very personable and told us a lot about living in Amsterdam today, it would have been nice to have had little more history and description of the buildings we were passing. It felt a little light in that regard.

Sorry to hear you had trouble finding the dock. Unfortunately the municipality of Amsterdam does not allow us to have a sign at the dock in front of Keizersgracht 196/198, we have tried multiple times.
Luckily all our other guests do seem to find our dock in the end with the description on viator of Keizersgracht 196/198 (next to Westerchurch and behind the Anne frank house) 2 very well known spots next to our dock.
Also there is always someone wearing a black cap with Sebi Boat Tours on it present 5-10 minutes before departure but we will definitely look into how we can improve this situation.
Also sorry to hear that you felt our tour was a little light on the history and description of the buildings. Our local captains/guides are very knowledgeable and can always be asked any question you may have on the history or buildings along the route. As we always offer live guiding and try to find a good balance between historical facts, present info and time to just admire the surroundings it could be that some buildings or history is missed. We do apologize and will also discuss internally how to improve this.
We do hope you still had a good time on board with us and that we may welcome you back on board and show and tell you even more on our beautiful city!

The canal cruise was fantastic. Just a small group of 7 people with nibbles and drinks. The boat stopped at a restaurant and picked up hot snacks including spring rolls and meatballs. Our Captain Mare was so good. She explained the sighs in English and was so knowledgeable. I would definitely take the same canal cruise again

Did this today and it was fabulous! Nice small group of people so you can move around the boat which has an indoor and outdoor area. Plenty of cold drinks (alcoholic and non alcoholic) available and the local snacks were lovely especially the hot ones which you stop off for from Sebi’s cousins restaurant. Captain Sebi was very knowledgeable and led a wonderful relaxed tour. Would 100% recommend paying a little extra to book this over the larger boat tours as it is more personal and the smaller boat can sail the smaller canals which are very pretty and peaceful.

Ps. Bridges are low and hard in Amsterdam that's why we are very careful with our guests. Sitting you are fine but standing while taking a picture for instance could be dangerous when approaching a bridge and the bridge will win ;-)

I cannot overstate how amazing this canal cruise was. It was worth every penny. Don't do the 15 euro cruises with 100 people on them. Captain Sebi's boat seats 10 folks max and it's such a delightful intimate experience. His boat has a cover so you can still take your tour if it's raining and there is a delightful outdoor deck you can sit on when the weather is nice.
When I was planning my trip to Amsterdam, I was like "ugh, are these canal tours even worth it they seem really touristy and basic." A friend of mine told me that a) yes I absolutely have to but b) find a tour that seats no more than a dozen folks. I am SO glad I listened to her!
With the smaller group, Captain Sebi has the GOOD booze (nice wine, high end local gin and Jenever) and Danish snacks (that he picks up freshly made from his cousin's restaurant). Captain Sebi was born and raised in The Netherlands and has lived in Amsterdam for decades. He has wonderful stories and his smaller boat allows you to go down the smaller canals in the extremely cute residential neighborhoods.
I'll also note that as an American, the 80 euro price point ensures your fellow cruisers are more sophisticated travelers who are excited to be in Amsterdam for more than just the red light district. You're not going to get croc-wearing weirdos who complain about things being "different from America." My group was a fantastic group of folks who I genuinely enjoyed spending time with. One of the couples on the tour actually went TWICE they liked it so much and I nearly went again later in the week with coworkers who came in for a conference (the timing just didn't work out).
Truly - do not do any other canal tour other than Olivier's and Captain Sebi's. You will not regret it and if I visit Amsterdam again, I'm booking his tour again!

I don't even know where to start as you have described everything we like to hear and exactly what we try to provide on each and every tour we do!
From our unique, comfortabele and smaller boat which can go areas the bigger boats can't go, our inside (heated on cold days) and outside area with toilet on board. Our local Dutch snacks and drinks and of course our knowledge and love for our amazing city!
We fully agree that choosing a smaller local company who only uses local captains who live guides on a 2 hour tour is the best way to really explore and learn all about our beloved city!
