Overview
Explore Portugal’s southern coast in style on this yacht tour. Meet at the Marina de Albufeira, hop aboard your vessel, and set sail with just a small group for company. As you go, admire the turquoise waters and coastal attractions at Benagil and Carvoeiro. Later, stop at one of the region’s loveliest beaches, where you’ll enjoy a barbecue lunch and can swim and sunbathe. - As of February 2026 this activity is no longer a barbecue on the beach due to the new regulations by the Portuguese maritime authority.
- Check-in is always made 30 minutes before departure time at ALGARVE CHARTERS's office
- Refunds will not be issued if tour/activity is missed due to late or non-arrival of cruise ship
- Party Groups or group bookings of more 6 people are not accepted unless the client private hire the all boat
- We have a booking minimum
- This activity is not accessible to people with limited movement, or reduced mobility, flexibility, or motor coordination. This is necessary due to the change of boat to a dinghy reach the beach. There is no refund if these requirements are not met.

Loved every minute of this trip. They looked after us so well. Gorgeous coastline cruise, lots of relevant information. No piped music just chat and relaxation. Decent personal space. Barbecue and swimming experience was great .

Great day out on a boat to explore the Algarve coastline. Beach BBQ was excellent and the staff were great and knowledgeable, thank you to Miguel! It’s not a ‘swim stop’ sort of boat but you can swim at the beach if you’re up for the cold water temps! We loved having a smaller group (14 max) and feel like that really added to the experience. Thank you again!

My best friend and I had a great time on this excursion! The captain and skipper were extremely kind and attentive, especially to my friend who is pregnant and was experiencing significant motion sickness. We had a great lunch and pretty much private beach experience. Everyone on board was great and it was a really wonderful way to experience the beauty of the region

The views were pretty. BBQ food was good, but don't expect additional portions ontop of the 1 plate you get. The beach venue was fairly private. Got two different spots to swim.
A bit disappointed that drinks onboard were an additional cost.
Also we didn't get champagne at the end of the trip as noted in the tour description. Instead we got a sparking wine...
I feel the price is a bit high for the tour we got. But it was fairly private in a small group, so maybe that's why.

Great fun. Sails are only used if there is sufficient wind, otherwise it is a quiet motor. Trip is very well organised and was one of the highlights of our holidays
. There is a small dingy to take you to the beach for lunch or you can swim there!

By far, the best excursion of our 2-week holiday, as voted by each member of our family of 4, including 2 hard to please teenagers! Our 2 man crew were fabulous. Nish made sure we were all well taken care of throughout. The food on the beach was delicious and likely one of the best meals we had. The tomatoes were a huge hit! We were fortunate enough to have the beach to ourselves for most our time there - It was so lovely and peaceful. We shared the experience with another family who were lovely also. The smaller boat better suited us and I am glad we opted for the Finismar. We saw the group queuing for the catamaran and it looked quite a lot like people-soup, huge queues! Thanks all for a wonderful day!

Perfect end of our holiday. The two man Crew Dnish and his Skipper were amazing hosts, making us feel welcome and looked after. I have to admit I didn’t have high expectations for the Bbq however the kebabs were homemade and perfectly cooked. My kids also gave their food the thumbs up. I’m taking away their recipe!
You do pay more than the larger boat experience but I think it’s money well spent.
The cherry on the cake would have been to sight dolphins however it’s the luck of the draw and didn’t ruin our experience.
Take the trip it’s a lovely day out.

This was the best way to see the coastline of the Algarve. Perfect that it was 14 pax maximum. The boat was beautiful, and the service was first class. Lunch on the beach was such a surprise. We knew it would be good, but did not expect it to be one of our favourite meals of the trip. Skip the 100 pax catamarans and book this! Rafael and his captain were the perfect hosts.

Great trip. Very small group of passengers and just 2 crew so calm and relaxing. We felt very well taken care of. Food was good with veggie option of soya sausage.

We had an exceptional time, the cruise was perfect - the shoreline/caves we passed were very pretty. The beach BBQ was way better than expected. Food was amazing and the wine went down very well! I wouldn’t hesitate booking again when visiting Portugal in the future.

Decided that of all the possible boat trips to take whilst we were in Albufeira, a day out on the Finismar looked like just the ticket. And how right we were. A truly delightful day of gentle sailing down the coast, a barbeque on the beach (they even had a vegetarian option for my wife and I), and sails unfurled in the wind on the way back. Some swimming, some cold drinks, sun, the sound of the billowing sails, the lapping of the waves. First mate Raphael and the captain were excellent company, too. Highly recommended.

This really is a great trip, relaxing and your looked after very well by the captain and first mate. I knocked one star off as we were expecting a private beach and barbecue but ended up with another boat full of people on this little beach which spoiled the unique experience. Plus there were other people already on the beach, i think this trip should explain that its not just the 14 people on the Finsmar that are on the beach.

Such an amazing experience! The crew was incredibly friendly and attentive to all the guests and made everyone feel very welcome. The BBQ was fabulous and we had the perfect amount of time on both the boat and the beach over the 6 hour cruise. 10/10, one of the best boat trips we’ve been on!(:

Sailing on the Finismar was a wonderful experience. The captain and crew were friendly and personable; they helped my husband who walks with a cane, maneuver on the boat as well as getting to and from shore. The lunch was delicious! We had a very relaxing day. Keeping the bookings to only 14 made it even better. Our fellow passengers were very nice.
We highly recommend this excursion.

Great trip would recommend it if your look for a lazy day. The two crew on the boat were brilliant and helpful, the bbq was great and the beach was beautiful. Would highly recommend it to anyone and will be booking again next time on holiday.

What a wonderful day spent at sea , incredible views, beautiful sailboat and one of the best crew we've ever had the pleasure of interacting with , the deckhand and captain made our day absolutely perfect . Where else can you get the best views accompanied with a barbecue on a private beach . Would def recommend and will be back to do it again with our friends .
