- The Vatican Museums reserve the right to close any section, including the Sistine Chapel, due to unforeseen circumstances. In such occasions, no refund is guaranteed to customers

Only way to visit the Vatican is with knowledgeable guide, never on your own with all the people and all the rooms, lines etc.

Our guide is an art professor and it showed! She was super knowledgeable but also friendly and engaging. We were three generations of family members and she managed to hold everyone’s attention throughout the entire tour, some of us had visited many times before and some were first timers.

Our tour guide was very prompt and was very knowledgeable about the Vatican museum. We were a large group with small children (ages 2, 6, and 11) and Silvio was able to be flexible and adjust to cater to our families needs.

Our guide was friendly and very knowledgeable about the Vatican. Our group went right into the line on time. The use of the ear buds made it easy to understand & hear the guide as we traveled from place to place.
The one criticism is she left us outside of the basilica and did not accompany us in. It was my understanding that the museum, Sistine Chapel and the Basilica were all guided. This was a great disappointment as there is so much there to tour and learn about.

It was interesting that early morning was already so busy. Nevertheless, the tour helped us navigate through the crowds as well as the city. I would definitely recommend signing up for this tour as the Vatican City is extremely popular and busy area.

This was the worst tour we have done. The guide was late and immediately began with a long list of rules with us and was very rude to our kids. We are a family of 11 with 82 to 4 years in age range. We communicated this to the guide prior - they acted irritated that we had children with us. We purchased tickets for children but they did not allow the kids to have ear pieces and were very rude about it. The guide stopped at a sign and talked to us for 45 min straight, but then rushed us through the Sistine chapel. It’s so packed in there and people were talking the entire time, certainly lost a lot of the charm that it once had. This was advertised as a private tour for our group - it was not, we were together with several other groups. Also advertised as “early bird/beat the crowds” - this is completely false. Overall, we just had a horrible experience. I would not recommend this tour for anyone, especially someone with children.

Bernadette was a perfect guide. Skipping the line saved us hours and it was very easy to meet up with our group. It felt informative without feeling too much like a school field trip, which is usually how these tours can make me feel!

Amazing to see the Sistine chapel and St Peter’s church but felt rushed by our guide throughout. There is so much we didn’t see and, even when we did pause to take in something, Marcello either hurried through his patter or really laboured the same point. We felt as though he was either bored, needed to be elsewhere or just wanted to finish work, or maybe a combination of all three?! Having said that, the tour was billed as being three hours and he did finish on time though bear in mind an hour of this was spent queueing. Tbh, I’m not sure you have much choice other than to do a guided tour as to queue independently must take forever.

Marcello was the BEST tour guide ever on tour 4/19!
He educated us on how to read statues, the culture, and especially the time line of where everything fits in history! This was by far the BEST tour of all our tours, because of Marcello!
