Best food tour in Chania ✨
Christos gave an amazing experience, not only did we have some of the best food we have eaten in all of Greece but also the stops at the herbal store and grocery store were such a treat and the highlight of my trip, we learned so much, we definitely recommend ✨

A great excursion with a wonderful guide!
Our travel guide, Apostolos, is one of the best guides we have met in all the traveling we have done. He was informative, entertaining and knew his history. He answered all our questions and left us with a better understanding of Crete’s history. He kept us laughing the entire excursion. We wish him the best.

A wonderful day out!
Amazing drive through the countryside, with some breathtaking views (coach driver George was very skilled). The weather wasn't great for our trip, but we still enjoyed a few hours at the beach. Be prepared for crowds! The bus had sun umbrellas we could borrow, which meant we could set up anywhere. Most of the swimming beach area is quite shallow, so perfect if you have kids. It's about a 10 minute walk from the carpark to the beach, then a thigh-deep wade across to the island (if you choose). Don't expect the sand to be particularly pink 😜. The drive itself was surprisingly enjoyable, accompanied by wonderfully informative commentary from our guide Simona. In Elios, go to the family run taverna for a traditional Cretan meal!

Amazing Day!!
So Much More Than a Cooking Class! We had the most wonderful day at Veggera. From the moment we arrived, it felt less like a cooking class and more like being welcomed into a Cretan family’s home. Brother and sister Paraskevas and Sophia started Veggera together two years ago, and they are truly what makes this experience so special. They are both adorable, warm, funny and incredibly engaging. Paraskevas greeted us with a personality that radiated warmth from the moment he said hello, and Sophia was equally friendly, charming—personable, and a wonderful instructor. Her motto for cooking was “as you feel”—there was no wrong way to do anything. Just relax, cook and enjoy. Their parents’ beautiful home is surrounded by lemon and pomegranate trees, prickly pear, gardens and fresh herbs—even an old rowboat converted into an herb garden. We began with coffee and cookies and a chance to meet the other guests before gathering around the tables to cook. We chopped fresh, homegrown zucchini, onions potatoes, tomatoes, dill and other vegetables and herbs along with feta cheese and goat cheese. We rolled our own dough abd stuffed with cheeses and inions and helped prepare a wonderful feast of lamb, sheep and fresh vegetables, which Sophia cooked in their wood-burning oven. While our meal cooked, Paraskevas showed us around the property, where we fed the goats, saw rabbits and birds, and even had the opportunity to milk the goats if we wanted to. Their parents were there helping as well, which made the experience feel even more authentic and family-oriented. Nothing felt staged or touristy—it genuinely felt like a family opening their home and sharing their life and traditions with us. There were 14 of us, all strangers when we arrived. Somewhere between cooking, laughing, feeding goats and sharing a delicious meal around the table, strangers became friends. The perfect ending came when Paraskevas took out his mandolin and began to play while Sophia got everyone up and led us in a traditional dance. Soon everyone was laughing, dancing and enjoying the music together. Five hours later, I honestly didn’t want it to end. Paraskevas and Sophia have created something incredibly special—food, family, friendship and genuine Cretan hospitality all wrapped into one unforgettable experience. We arrived as guests and left feeling like friends. One of the absolute highlights of our trip to Crete. Don’t miss it!

Crete tours offer a winning combination of ancient history, world-class cuisine, and outdoor adventure by land and sea. Soak up wild Cretan nature while off-roading among olive groves and imposing canyons, or sunbathe on a catamaran between dips in the ridiculously blue Mediterranean. Gastronomes can explore picturesque villages and learn about regional food specialties, while anyone interested in mythology will delight in a tour of the Cave of Zeus, the Palace of Knossos, and beyond.
