Brilliant visit to Meteora

Fabulous trip to visit 2 of the 6 Meteora Monasteries , we went to Varlaam and St Stephen. Enough time given to visit both . Excellent guide C C who gave out a lot of useful information during the trip and was friendly. Comfortable full size coach with great music played low enough to be in the background . By prior arrangement with Ammon I left the trip at the meal stop on the return at Kastraki , stowing my 10kg bag in the hold, so I could spend a further two days exploring this unique and beautiful area ...if you have the time I highly recommend this...Ktel have a coach you can book online via Trikala to Thessaloniki that departs late afternoon for example .

Excellent day trip . Informative guide : we visited Vergina first then Pella reversing the itinerary to avoid bottlenecks caused by anticipated roadworks on the return which worked very well ; just a 45 minute journey back from Pella . Plenty of time to view everything without being rushed : on this Ammon trip thankfully there was no unnecessary "stocking filler" ie wasted time swimming or restaurants ...Just the history and culture which for me is perfect. 16 on the trip . Recommended.

Solid overall experience

This food tour is well worth the cost. It may not be quite as comprehensive as some of the ones in other major cities but we had a wonderful time and still ended up so full from all of the treats. We did this tour when we got off the cruise ship in Thessaloniki and it was a perfect balance of history and info about the city and getting to try local treats.

Absolutely fascinating! The Royal Tomb Museum is beautifully curated & very accessible. Don’t miss the media presentation - it’s a wonderful insight in Macedonian culture. The drive there is an interesting insight into rural Greek life. Thoroughly recommend Dimitri - excellent in every way.

A full on trip that packed a lot into the time available. About 30 on the trip in a comfy air conditioned full size coach so plenty of room . Everything was well organised and led by Elen from Ammon Express . I would have liked another 30 minutes at Dion , which felt somewhat rushed to see everything at this site . It was also a shame Dion's archaeological museum was missed on the itinerary, this would have been a preferred stop to complete the tour of this area.

Absolute must see Meteora!

We had a marvelous day with Yannis! He has a wealth of knowledge about the area. We toured two of the five monasteries (though he was not allowed to go in with us as he is not licensed to guide here. Somewhat strange as we paid an extra $300 for a guided tour.) The monasteries are beautiful inside and out. The settings, high on the rocks, is amazing. Yannis then took us to a great restaurant for local food. We had a fantastic day!

Do this tour!

Our private guided tour has been the highlight of our trip! Our guide, Vasileia, was knowledgeable and attentive. You could tell how passionate she was about history. Plus she was born and raised in Thessaloniki! She was flexible when we needed to stop for coffee (jet lag was tough!). We really felt like we got everything out of this tour! Highly recommend!

First I want to say this excursion is everything! I actually missed it .. my fault .. but in trying to get me back to them from the wrong the location the operator running it helped way beyond. She was incredible and kind and never made me feel terrible for my mistake. Other cruisers went and said it was fun and lots of great information. The customer service is above and beyond!

Our tour guide, Bill, was exceptional. If it was not for Bill, the tour would have been just okay. He was very accommodating and always open-minded. He was above and beyond from start to finish. As for the tour itself, this is something I want to tell the tour owner that I was a little disappointed with the lineup of the tour stops. It was not much to see and who in the world would want to go see museums after museums? The ancient city of Dion was okay, but I would definitely skip it and maybe keep just one museum stop. I would also suggest starting from the Holy Monastery, adding Olympus lagoons and Litochoro tour, keep the Enipeas Waterfall stop. Thanks to Bill to still make this tour fun for us. Again, if it was not for him, I would not rate this experience 5 stars.

My favorite tour in Greece so far.

I've traveled throughout Greece multiple times and this is BY FAR my favorite ever activity! If you loce mountains, alpine landscapes, places like Austria and Slovenia... then you will love Pozar. I recommend bringing your own towel, or have some cash on you, since towel rentals are cash only. Otherwise, definitely book this! I can't remember the guides name (archaeologist) but he was so friendly and helpful.

An Amazing “Must Not Miss” Tour

Our full day tour to Meteora from Thessaloniki was absolutely wonderful from start to finish. Our day started with an on time pick up from the Electra Palace hotel in downtown Thessaloniki. Our driver, Antonis Pouliasis, who speaks excellent English, greeted us warmly and welcomed us into his spacious and comfortable Mercedes van. During our drive to Meteora, he informed of history and geography of the area and pointing out areas of interest along the way. He made stops for photo ops and bathroom and snack breaks along the way. Once we arrived in Meteora, he personally guided us through two of the most significant and beautiful monestaries: St. Stephen’s and the great Meteoron Monestary. He shared insights throughout each tour. After many photo ops, he dove us to a tasty lunch spot in nearby Kalabaka before we headed back to Thessaloniki using a different but scenic route from which we could view Mount Olympus from the other side. We strongly recommend Antonis as a driver and a tour guide. He made our tour comfortable, informative and memorable.

Adonis our driver was EXCELLENT!!! You know that friend you haven't see in a long time, this is what it felt like being with Adonis! He had a great knowledge of the Bible and brought it to life. He was incredibly friendly and our family had a great time in his company. He recommended an excellent restaurant in Kavala. We did not feel rushed during our tour and felt he truly went above and beyond! I HIGHLY recommend Adonis and this tour!
