Our Captain Nick was amazing! Knowledgable, calm, and interested in our family enjoying the area and having a great time. As if Balos and Gramvousa weren’t the most amazing g beaches already, He included a 3rd beach stop for a deep water swim and a short detour to see a huge cave. Always ready with drinks and snorkel gear!!! Amazing day had by all including our 12 and 15 year olds.

Beautiful trip. Amazing clear water. Captain was very good at navigating the waters. We always felt safe.
We had THE BEST DAY on the water exploring Balos Beach and the little lagoon breaches nearby. Our captain, Lefteris, made the trip unforgettable.
Highlight of Our Trip to Crete! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
What an awesome day out on the water! This boat trip was such a hit with both us parents and our teenagers – which honestly says it all. The 11.5m boat was super comfy and gave us plenty of space to chill, jump in for a swim, and just enjoy the ride.
The absolute star of the day though was our skipper. He was so friendly, easy-going, and fun to be around, while also making us feel 100% safe the whole time. He really knew his stuff and shared great insights, but at the same time made it feel like we were out with a good friend.
We all agreed this was one of the best things we did in Crete – definitely a must-do if you want an unforgettable experience on the sea!
Very good experience, views are amazing. Captain explained all the history of the sites visited, Balos is beautiful. The site has to be avoided as from 12.00, very crowded.

Great trip! It was fun, adventures, and beautiful. The private tour of Balos is the only way to do it. We avoided crowds, swam in clear empty bays, watched sunset from the boat, and had a great time! It was a very special part of our time in Crete!
We had a great captain named Yannis, he drove the boat safely and had great pieces of information to add to the trip to some outstanding beaches
Rough going out to the beaches. Got pounded by the Criten sea for a good 45 minutes but once we reached the beaches it was amazing. Great boat captain!
Terrific 3 1/2 hour cruise - beautiful beaches, swimming, spectacular views and an excellent captain. Overall a fantastic afternoon with family.
Our guide was wonderful. The boat ride was great, and the guide took the time to explain our surroundings and their significance. It made for a good conversation. The hike to the fort made for a great view!

Is nice for a small family. Speed was not bad and wind was ok. The captain for Balos - got close as possible so we didn’t need to swim that long to get onto that amazing beach. Worth every penny. Had a great time.

A group of 5 friends rented the boat for the day and had the best time. We were out to sea before anyone else, reaches destinations before other boats and Lefteris was a great captain who accomadated our requests but always was safe. We had endless beer and a nice sandwich for lunch. Money well spent!

What an amazing trip! I rarely write reviews but given the amazing day we had we felt we owed it to Alex and SleazeTheDay to make some comments. We arrived at the port and had Alex for our boat trip and what a great guy. Thrilling boat trip (the kids loved being up front for the spray and speed) and Alex was very happy to go between Balos beach and the lagoon at our leisure within our time. We made some great family memories that were all made possible by Alex and his efforts to please us and charm. We chose the 11 foot boat for five of us and it was perfect. We didn’t expect anything more than water so was pleasantly surprised to also receive sandwiches and soft drinks/beer. We loved every minute of it…you won’t be disappointed (especially if you also get Alex as your skipper). Thanks very much!

Demetrios was great! We spent a couple of hours snorkeling and saw a wreck and lots of colorful fish, also a flounder and a giant tubefish. On the way back to port, he pulled into a little alcove where we got to see the beach goats up close. Special day!

We did the boat that was up to 10 guests for our family of 4. It was absolutely perfect in every way. Our guide was nice and engaging. The boat was a lot of fun (especially for the kids up front) and Balos Bay was absolutely beautiful!! An unexpected highlight was the pirate castle and the views! Absolute highlight of our trip.

We had such a nice experience. Dimitri was our captain and took care of us very well. We are really glad we decided to take a boat tour rather than the drive out to Balos beach. Both were beautiful, but we liked Gramvousa beach more. Our 12 year old liked the swimming at Gramvousa more because there were more fish to see underwater. We swam to shore and walked for a short time. The views on the whole trip were amazing. The water colors were a deep blue while further from shore and then a bright turquoise by the beach.

Our captain was absolutely the best part of this entire trip! He was the most gracious host. Took us to some amazing places. Spoiled us with treats from the homeland and taught us about nature and how to live off the land and sea. I was so impressed and we truly got the spirit of what Crete is all about! Plus the beauty of being on the water was a plus. The hike up to the castle is a must!

We couldn't have had a better day than we had, mostly due to how amazing our captain, Stelios, was. He not only took us to a handful of beautiful and breathtaking spots but was so hospitable and welcoming to us. Stelios caught and made us all sorts of foods throughout the day, many from his own family farm. It was such a wonderful day - we think of it fondly. Thank you, Stelios for taking such good care of us!
Captain Stelios made our trip *amazing* and we cannot recommend him and the company highly enough!! Hospitality, generosity, and FUN don’t even begin to cover it, you’ll have to find out for yourself. Hope you like fresh caught fish!
Excellent tour! Nikolaos was so welcoming and made sure we had a great time. He was also very good with our kids 8 & 9 and made sure they had a memorable experience as well. 10/10 rating and we will definitely book again in the future.
Our guide Captain Stelios was amazing. He took my family of four on an personalized tour of Gramvousa and Balos Beaches and also took us to great swimming spot with wild goats! Besides being an adept Captain, Stelios treated us to some homemade delicacies for lunch including homemade dacos with veggies from his dad's farm. This is a must do on your Crete itinerary.

A memorable trip to the crystal clear waters of Balos and Gramvousa. It's definitely worth spending the extra on a private trip - you arrive way before the crowds and get to explore tiny coves for diving etc. Arriving at Balos without the crowds was a real plus (the larger boats contain hundreds of people that then over populate the lagoon)

We booked the 11 meter boat for five of us. 3 kids 17, 18, 22. We met our Captain Stella's right on time. The boat was stocked with a cooler full of water, beer, soft drinks and sandwiches. Right away we realized Capt. Stelios was going to be special. We hit the jackpot. Having fished, farmed, and hunted the area for his whole life, he had a crazy amount of knowledge that made our day super special. Stops on the way to see caves, rock formations, etc. that others pass right by.
Gramvousa is a spectacular island, our kids decided to go up to the fort on top, my wife and I had a private guided snorkel tour around the wreck, seeing lionfish, urchins and the water is amazing. Kids loved the hike up, but with temps near 100' the swim at the bottom was the best.
From there we went to Balos Lagoon, arriving before the serious crowds. It is beautiful, and we took lots of pix, but we chose to swim back to the boat as it was still crowded. After some swimming, Capt. took us to a small beach, where we were all alone. Absolutely beautiful. Asked if I wanted to collect natural sea salt, I said yes and Capt. and I set off along the rocks where we found pools of sea water that had evaporated leaving salt behind. I came away with nearly a pound of natural sea salt!
Next stop he showed us to catch an octopus, which he brought up...
Multiple stops along the way on way home to swim.
Despite sunburns, we had an amazing day which I don't think will be forgotten. Thanks Capt!
