great tour of the Vatican. We learned so much from her. Very glad we went on this tour and we went with the skip the line and the small group.

Our guide, Laura, was an absolute rockstar. She’s an archaeologist whose enthusiasm was totally contagious. Instead of dry history, she loaded us up with juicy, amusing gossip about the former popes and artists. Plus, with our intimate group of just six people, we could easily weave through the thick crowds at our own comfortable pace.

Our guide Verna was excellent and very knowledgeable. She was able to give us some valuable insight and lead us through the tour without getting lost in the large crowd.we did a small group tour of 7 and it was great! Definitely do this tour.

Fantastic experience barbara and her driver were awesome. Gave way more than expected! Took us anywhere we wanted…
Patty_D, May 2026
Our guide was interesting and provided thoughtful feedback on our questions. She made sure we saw the things we wanted to see because of time constraints on our part.

The detail inside is overwhelming.
The emotion is overwhelming.
The scale is overwhelming.
But for me, one moment stood above all the others.
Michelangelo’s Pietà.
I wasn’t prepared for what that statue would make me feel.
Carved by Michelangelo when he was only 24 years old, the sculpture shows Mary holding the body of Jesus after the crucifixion.
And somehow,
out of cold marble
he created pure emotion.
The sorrow on Mary’s face.
The gentleness of her hands.
The detail in Christ’s body.
It honestly stopped me in my tracks.
Not because it’s famous.
Not because it’s beautiful.
Because you can FEEL it.
The pain.
The love.
The sacrifice.
The humanity.
In a place filled with overwhelming grandeur, the Pietà somehow made everything feel deeply personal.
At one point during the tour I stopped trying to take pictures and simply stood there taking it all in.
Faith.
History.
Art.
Human achievement.
God.
No matter what your beliefs are, the Vatican leaves an impression on your soul.
And honestly?
I couldn’t imagine having a better guide for this experience than our Vatican guide, Davide.
Funny.Brilliant.Passionate.Sarcastic.Proud Roman.Devout Catholic.
Quite the combination.
He somehow managed to strike the PERFECT balance between deep reverence and hilarious honesty.
One minute he was passionately explaining the spiritual significance of St. Peter’s Basilica
and the next he’d casually shrug and say:“Ah yes…another example of the Pope stealing things from the Romans.” 🤣
The guy was incredible.
He made thousands of years of history feel alive instead of academic.
Not dry facts.Not memorized speeches.
Stories.Drama.Power struggles.Art.Faith.Humanity.
Exactly the way Rome should be experienced.
By the end of the tour we all felt like we weren’t just looking at history anymore, we were somehow standing inside it.
At about 11:30am we hugged David goodbye (Chow-Chow). Just a WOW.

Our tour guide - Linda - was fabulous and well educated about the Vatican and Sistine Chapel. She guided us through the "massive crowd" with care and attention. I would recommend this tour with Linda over and over again.
Carolyn_S, May 2026
My husband and I took this tour yesterday and it was absolutely wonderful. It was supposed to be 6 people, I think and our tour guide. The other 4 people never showed so it was just my husband and I and our tour guide, Matteo. Such a great experience. Matteo was very kind and very knowledgeable and gave us so much information about so many details that we were left stunned by the experience. Absolutely worth your time and money. I would recommend this tour, and especially Matteo to anyone looking for a wonderful experience of history and beauty.

Absolutely amazing! Barbara was the best tour guide! Even when the tour was over she was still giving us recommendations. She was energetic and knowledgeable.
Gary_S, May 2026
What wonderful experience this was! It felt like Valencia was a family member and so knowledgeable! Our small group (6 of us) got to see and experience a magical and deeply spiritual tour! We highly recommend this tour group!!!
Michael_K, May 2026
Arrive well rested and allow an extra hour or two afterward. You don’t want to be rushed at the end of the tour.
David_B, May 2026
Alex delivered a 10star tour with lots of interesting tidbits of information and explanations. I would highly recommend him as your tour guide
Amy_C, May 2026
Massive crowds make “skip the line’ still very long lines. I suppose the alternative would be worse.
But the crowds inside are massive, and not much time to really see much in detail. That said, our guide Sarah was an art historian and she was deeply knowledgeable, passionate about the art and super personable. She was the best.
Renee_D, May 2026
We were so pleased with this small group tour (6 people) and our guide, Laura! She was well-versed and experienced. Would highly recommend this tour.
Charlotte_H, May 2026
This is the absolute best way to experience the Vatican! We were truly able to skip the long lines in the heat of August, and our tour guide pointed out so many things that we never would have noticed had we done this on our own! We are returning next year and plan to book the same tour again! We’re traveling with a much larger family the next time and I’m hoping we can get everyone in our own private tour!
Diann_B, May 2026

Seeing the Vatican was a lifetime dream come true. It was awesome & our tour guide was great! I especially enjoyed the small group.
Wayne_B, May 2026
Our guide was amazing. He made the tour more enjoyable than just listing facts. I would not advise touring the Vatican without a guide.
Cleta_P, May 2026
Our skip the line Vatican tour with Liv Tours was excellent. Our guide, Barbara is a fantastic guide. She has great stories that bring the things you are seeing to life.
Kathryn_P, May 2026
So worth the money! Guide was very knowledgeable and zipped us through unnecessary waits. When we did wait, or guide gave us informative talks.
Gregory_C, May 2026
We loved our guide and she wa very knowledgable. Be warned, there are a "hundred" other Skip the line tours thus you have to wait in a big line to get. into the Vatican. Then once in, there are hundreds of people already there. So, you do have a big line but they move it quickly and it goes through quickly and there are tons of people, but it is way better than trying to walk up and go into the vatican because realistically thats just not happening.

Elyssa was a beyond exceptional guide - she was simply wonderful and very gracious. She was extremely knowledgeable - she truly understood the art and history of the Vatican and St. Peters - Although we were both in our 80s we managed the tour with no problems. She was so well spoken and understandable and she truly made the Vatican come alive. When the tour ended we we on the street although she told us how to get a cab we got lost and were trying to figure out how to hail a cab - she ran into us and went out of her way to show us how to get a cab. She was a Godsend. I cannot give enough praises for making this tour so very memorable. She is a star for your company in so many ways. Please thank her again from us
Leonardo_R, May 2026
I booked this tour for our friends who were visiting Rome for the first time. The wife has a walking disability and uses a wheelchair to get around. They were anxious on how they get around the Vatican but they only had praises for their guide Franceska. She expertly navigated the Vatican Museum and Sistine Chapel seamlessly and comfortably for them. She was very informative and accommodating that our friends can’t stop thanking us for booking this tour for them.
Richard_H, May 2026
An Amazing experience. This gives you a great overview of the Vatican. You need at least a whole day to wonder and experience the vatican
Meghan_D, May 2026
Marco was an excellent guide! Had a wonderful experience in small group with him. Highly recommend him for this tour.
Susan_A, May 2026
Our tour with Chiara was absolutely wonderful. She was very knowledgeable, organized and patiently answered every one of our many questions. It was an absolute pleasure to be escorted by Chiara. We learned so much about the Vatican past and present. I would tell anyone considering taking this small group tour to not hesitate. We truly did skip the line and even though it was during peak hours, being there with our wonderful guide made the crowds disappear because of her exceptional attention.
Our tour today will forever be a cherished memory for my husband and me. Ask for
Chiara and you will be happy!
