It was hard to understand the guide. He didn’t really help explain how the e-bikes work and never asked how we were doing. It was a bit tricky riding on very crowded cobblestone streets. He didn’t give us much information often telling us we’d be going through a few different neighborhoods but not stopping to tell us about them. I didn’t even realize that we rode through some that were of interest.
Bike had a nice soft seat but the ebike seemed to lurch. The bathroom had no seat and no paper so tough for women.

The experience was great. A bit shorter than other companies that organize bike tours in Rome. One remark: Viator confirmed that Dutch tour guide was available, but immediately after booking that actual company delivering this (orange fox) said that Dutch was not available for the booked slot.

We have done quite a few bike tours through Europe and the states. Our guide was super nice and knowledgeable but this city and where we went is not very bike friendly. I felt like we were always having to watch out for walkers. We were here in May so I can only imagine how much more crowded it would be in peak months. I did like being able to walk around at some of the sites and our guide gave us 15-20 minutes take it all in. That was great, but I would have preferred to do a walking tour over a bike tour in this city. We chose to get regular bikes and opted out of electric bikes. I’m happy I did because I didnt mind biking on the few hills we had. Our tour guide was great and helpful I just wish the path we chose was better for biking.

There were at least 12 people on this tour, which was WAY too many. Rome is crazy busy with tourists at this time of year and so it was so stressful to try to keep the group together. Plus finding a place to park all those bikes was a challenge and one time all the bikes fell over after one tipped. We went down narrow streets crammed with tourists and major roads with buses cars and motorcycles. Not everyone was provided a helmet.
On the plus side, the tour did go to major sites much faster than we could have gone by foot or any other form of transportation.

Upon arrival info that Dutch tourguide was not available (a) and it was too late for them to inform us to cancel the trip (b). our option: either cancel and get refund, or take the trip with 'fee upgrade' from regular bike to electric bike. As we scheduled the afternoon as such, we took that option (less interesting as son & wife do not 100% master english). Sadly the guide (Mr M) was not motivated at all and yawning often, event had to stop for a coffee and food (seems he was booked on 4 tours that day). Limited stories, no inside info, both tourguide as tourist were happy it was finished... we did not even cover the last foreseen stop. All in all, not to our expectations (antoher Dutch couple in our tour felt the same). In other cities i had much better experiences with such bike-tours. Bad start of our first day in Rome.

Cycling around Rome was good fun. We understood most of what the guide said.
At the booking desk there was heavy upselling to swap the booking to electric bikes. We conceded to 2/4, got charged for all 4 and had to accept refund in cash. Whilst one in our party benefitted from the electric motor, it really wasn’t needed (just one steeper hill on the tour), so it felt like a rip off with nearly double the price.

A great opportunity to see multiple classical sites from Rome’s rich history and architecture on 2 wheels. Plenty of photo opportunities and very good historical explanations at each site from your cycling guide. The 2.5 hours flew by and if you have more time in Rome, it gives you the opportunity to decide on what you want to visit relevant to the time you have in the city.
