- Go straight to the entrance, but everyone must still go through the security check line, which may have a short wait on busy days.
- Kids under 18 enter for free, but we still need their names when you book.
- We’ll provide free child tickets for them.
- A digital audio guide (online, app, or MP3) will be sent.
- You’ll need to listen on your own phone with headphones.
- Your ticket includes one entry to the Colosseum and one entry to the Roman Forum & Palatine Hill.
- Bring your ticket with you — either printed or on your phone.

Our first tour was canceled last minute fir no reason. We had to re-book the night before with few options left.
Colosseum was amazing and an absolute must see. Our guide however was painful. Spent a majority of the tour stopped r talking in the corridors pointing out things in the city and very little time in side the Colosseum. We actually left the tour and walked the rest by ourselves. I DON'T recommend this particular tour company Viator contracted with.

Would've been better with a tour guide. The My Colosseum app was not fantastic and we wasted time floundering around. The app was not clear.

This was amazing- the audio guide around the colleseum was a little confusing initially and it was difficult to work out which section you were in.sometimes the audio guide linked in automatically as it was meant to but this was intermittent but just listened to each one as we went around so easy enough to adapt. Colleseum was stunning-it was very busy but didn't impact on the enjoyment. With hindsight I would have planned to come back to the forum and paladin Hill another day as it was a lot to fit in and we didn't get much chance to see much of paladin due to time we spent in colleseum and forum. The ticket does allow you to come back the following day (if you haven't entered forum or pallantine hill)but we had other things planned the other days. Great day.

Self-guided tour of the Colloseum, it’s pretty standard. I do recommend downloading the app before you get there and taking your own headphones because they don’t have any at the place.

Coliseum and other areas were amazing. The ticket buying experience via Viator was not great. Booked for 10am, changed it without asking to 9:30am. Sent vouchers, then sent tickets and many other confusing emails.

There is no human interaction at all. Everything is handled via email, including the tickets and audioguide. It feels overpriced for what you get, but it can be a practical option if tickets aren’t available on the official website or if you need flexibility due to uncertain plans.

Our tour of the Colosseum was truly a fantastic experience and one of the highlights of our trip. From the moment we arrived, everything was well organized, making it easy to enjoy the day without any stress. The guide was knowledgeable and engaging, sharing fascinating stories and historical details that brought the ancient ruins to life.
Walking through the Colosseum, we could really imagine what it must have been like during its peak in ancient times. The views from inside were incredible, and every corner had something interesting to discover. It felt like stepping back into history.

Our tour experience was great (we did the self guide audio, arena experience). The tickets and audio arrived the day before as promised with easy instructions and our entrance was seamless. Just remember to download the app and audio before you go as service is slow in the colosseum area. Highly recommend!

Retrieving the tickets from the Viator app was difficult. My techie adult kids even struggled to find the right link.
We reported to the Viator designated gate and were denied admission. After fifteen minutes of searching, we found an entrance that accepted our tickets. Inside, we wondered why they even required timed tickets. It was crowded and difficult to navigate.
I won’t book with Viator again. I’m giving a 3-star review because it is, after all, the colosseum.

Viator ticket do not work. We book 1PM and on viator shows 1PM, but when open tickets got time 1:30PM. Should wait in line two times.

You were welcome to arrive between 1:15 PM and 1:30 PM for entry.

The audio guide was never given to us. I had to call them she going into the colosseum. They kept hanging up on me then they finally pasted in all of the information into the chat. I had to download everything while in the colosseum instead of before. The audio guide app is awful. It plays on top of each other.

Not worth the price for self-guided-- get a tour guide. Each station is marked but it's difficult to find when there are a lot of people. We missed several. And then we paid for the roman forum but the line was WAY too long-- literally would have taken HOURS just to get in. Why couldn't we move forward in line since we already had tickets? Why did we have to wait in line AGAIN? This one was the worst one this trip. I will never do this again. WASTE OF MONEY.

The Colosseum is an amazing building and being self guided made it easier to get around due to the amount of people there on the day we visited. Even though we’d booked “skip the line” we didn’t get through any quicker. Even though we’d followed the very clear instructions of where the meeting point was. There was no one to greet us & walk us through the entry process. The staff at the meeting point sent us right round to the other side. We found this part of the process a little frustrating.

Straight forward and easy to use. Emailed tickets so to me so I didn’t have to pick up at a desk.
Only flaw is the price (really expensive because of late booking it’s ridiculous it gets so expensive) but this was my fault leaving it so late to book it, book 1 or 2 months in advance if possible.
I’d recommend to others but not at this price .
