The company made it very smooth and while the guide wasn’t proficient in English, she did a very nice job and answered questions. There is a lot to see.

Very well organized. Had staff meet us at train stations to make sure we knew which trains to take and answer any questions.

We really enjoyed our Pompeii guided tour with train included from Rome. Our guide was genuinely enthusiastic and clearly loved sharing the history of Pompeii, which made the experience engaging from start to finish. While the guide had a strong accent, their excitement and passion came through beautifully and added to the authenticity of the tour.
The information was presented in a relatable, human way that appealed to everyone in our group—from our high school-aged daughter and college-aged son to my parents. It was wonderful to see all generations equally interested and engaged.
The pace of the tour was fairly quick, which kept things moving and allowed us to see a lot. For my parents in their 80s, it was occasionally challenging to keep up, and we were out of range of the headsets at times. Even so, the guide remained energetic, informative, and clearly passionate about bringing Pompeii’s history to life. Overall, it was a memorable, informative experience that we truly appreciated.
Train was a bit stressful, but the guides did arrive to make sure we were on the correct train and literally walked us to the platform. They noted a 9:20 meet up with the guide, we arrived at 9:10 to no one. However, at exactly 9:20 the guide was there as promised!

Fantastic but only thing is I wished we saw more of the shadows on walls etc and the dog that was impacted by the blast

Pompeii was incredible. Tour logistics were super disorganized. Double check all of your plans! And then recheck. And be ready to contact the tour company onsite in Naples. Nothing was well communicated and it was very confusing. The staff were very nice about it but definitely logistics could be improved.

Very good tour guide in Pompeii I would recommend to have tickets in hand as the WiFi donot work in Italy. Someone has to guide us to get a train and especially hand the tickets as WiFi didn’t work in Termini station .

This Pompeii tour by train from Rome was excellent. In Stazione is an incredibly helpful and professional company that puts their customer first. Getting to Pompeii was very smooth and guided by their staff. The Pompeii tour was excellent and we got a great sample of the site in 2 hours. There was just enough time afterwards to get a nice meal near the archeological site. My family and I had some difficulties making our way back to Rome but In Stazione staff got us all squared away. I highly recommend.

Pompeii is an amazing destination and our Pompeii guide was knowledgeable making those two hours an amazing experience. However, there is a lot more to consider with this trip since the entire experience is supposed to be 8 hours, but unfortunately on the day we took the trip it ended up being a 14 hour event. I was disappointed that we were kept uninformed until an hour prior to the trip regarding the travel arrangements. The tour company sent a WhatsApp message to me with meeting details at the Rome train station. Then each step was a mystery until we made it to Naples train station where we were given final instructions for our day. So we were led to the archaeological site by a guide from Naples to Pompeii where we met with our archaeological site guide. But once the guided tour is over in the middle of the Pompeii archaeological site, you are left to fend for yourself to get back to the Naples train station by yourself. You have to find your way to either take an un air conditioned local train or a bus from the site to the Pompeii train station - and once you arrive at either location you must pay for that leg of the trip. Then you must navigate the Pompeii train station and find the correct train to Naples. Then you have to switch tracks in Naples and find your way to the high speed train to the Rome station from Naples. It’s a bit complicated to navigate on your own - especially after paying so much money for the trip. Unfortunately in our case the train to Rome was delayed by several hours and there was quite a bit of chaos in the Naples train station. Finally after two hours of uncertainty the high speed train was given a track and it took off for Rome. However the train malfunctioned and the one hour high speed trip took several hours to make it back to the Rome train station. At times the train would travel high speed then end up gliding to a stop- with power, air conditioning, and wi-fi off. Then the train would start again and travel at a snails pace until finally returning to Rome 6 hours after the intended time. If we purchased the train tickets directly from Italo train company we could have been refunded our money for that leg of the trip, but instead Instazione probably put in a claim to benefit from our misfortune. Do yourself a favor and either book a trip to Pompeii with a single bus ride from Rome or take the time to purchase your own train tickets and ticket to the park. You will save a lot of money, time, and hassle, and have piece of mind knowing what you are expected to do instead of being told about your day at the last minute.

Good morning,
We are sorry to hear about your experience. We have thoroughly investigated your booking, and what has emerged is unfortunately beyond our control.
First of all, the escorting service is a premium service, which comes at a different cost than what you paid. We clearly state that the journey from Rome to Naples is independent. Once in Naples, our greeters are available to welcome you, show you our agency, and explain the next steps. Then, one of our greeters boards the train with you and escorts you to Pompeii. Our guests are not left alone during this process. After the tour, the return trip is independent.
Please note that outside the Pompeii ruins exit we have a meeting point where our staff is available for assistance. Moreover, we were not contacted by phone, otherwise we would have been happy to help.
It was not necessary to pay again for the return train ticket. The return ticket was already provided to you upon arrival in Naples, so we cannot take responsibility for the additional expense.
Lastly, we are not responsible for delays on national high-speed trains. That day, there was a fault in the Italian railway network, and such disruptions are unfortunately outside our control.
We kindly ask you to consider all external factors before leaving a review. Reviews are essential to our work, and we believe they should be left with care and fairness.
We hope to welcome you again soon to try other experiences with us.

It is a well designed your with a guide then time afterwards to wander and explore. My only observation is that the transfer between train stations, the guide had our train tickets, and we were separated from them due to train capacity. As such, the ticket inspection nearly resulted is in being fined.

Unfortunately, our train was cancelled. We were willing to be flexible and try other options before giving up and asking for a refund. After trying for nearly 2 hours, the only option given was to leave 3 hours later than our original time but would have to leave at the same scheduled time- leaving only 60-90 minutes to check in, do a self-guided tour (no longer guided) and get back on the train. Impossible! We even offered to rent a car if they could arrange a later tour and credit the travel portion of the trip. Nope. Only offered a 50 euro credit off over $800 of trip that didn’t happen!! While the original train delay is definitely not in their control, the cost is refundable to them. There is ZERO reason that they couldn’t make other options work with us or refund the cost of the trip.

I booked this tour while we were visiting Rome and because my son is an archeology major. I looked at reviews for the various Pompeii tours, and decided to go with this one by train because of the reviews. I was not expecting all the transitions we made. We had a meet up point at the room train terminal where we were escorted to the train and coach we were assigned to. We took the train to Naples, where we were meant by another team member who escorted us to their office in that train terminal. We waited at least a half an hour before we were finally informed of the next train we were taking to Pompeii and were provided bags with some information and a map. Once we arrive to the train station in Pompeii, we were then to take a shuttle bus to the actual site. We were then handed off to the actual tour guide and proceeded to enter the city. The tour was good, and we were allowed time to walk around and explore on our own after the tour. We found our way back, but didn’t have a shuttle or train schedule, so Sara was extremely helpful in helping us sort everything out and get back to Rome. She was very helpful and guided us to a different train station and arranged for us to get revised train tickets back to Rome. They were very responsive and helpful.
If I had to do it again, I would probably do a bus tour so we could also see the Amalfi Coast. This was our first time in Rome, so we weren’t familiar with the transportation or how to get around, so it may not have been the best option for us.

Very informative. Luigi our guide was excellent.Logistics of getting to site challenging for some tour members. But Instazione staff very helpful.

The tour was great, though I thought they were meeting us in Rome, tickets for the train were sent the day before and all instructions to meeting point was easy to follow, really appreciated the texts to make sure we received the tickets and made it on the train was a nice touch.
The tour at Pompeii was amazing and guide knowledge and myself and friends had no where to be after so we were able to continue walking around Pompeii after the guide left, we were also given an option to change our return tickets home if we left early, we didn’t. But it’s also a nice touch.
My only suggestion is to be more clear on the trip home from the first train, that Napoli Centrale is also calledNapoli Garbaldi

Great way to get to Pompeii to Rome, the guide didn’t show us everything so do go off after the tour has finished and go back and look again, it’s not their fault there is just a lot to walk round, train ride back to Rome was lovely, the tour guide company was brilliant they sure you where to go and sent what’s app messages

This was such a wonderful, informative and insightful tour. I wish I had gotten our tour guides name because she was wonderful-very knowledgeable but was able to make it relatable. She answered all of our questions and we all left feeling like we learned so much and would recommend this tour for all age groups.

The tour company, guides, and information was amazing. They were calm and very nice even though I was so nervous about traveling by train. Simply wonderful. Thank you.
